The idea came to me while pretending to pay attiontion in my Foreign languge class.
 "The Turanga Sisters"
*At least two months after TDHAIP, Fry and Leela are dating. At the opera, the least mutated mutant ever was taken out with some friends. When  the Robot Devil pulls Leela onto the stage and when she does her aria thing, Turanga Lauren sits there in shock, wondering why her parnets never told her about her older sister. After two months of digging through files, Turanga Lauren finds out were Leela works, and pulls her carreer chip, and goes to be the new intern at PE.Leela is also shocked to find out about a sister who had two eyes, and could pass off easily as a human. Lauren, jealous of Leela and Fry, keeps trying to make advances on him to get him in her clutches. Sibling rivalry ensues, with some violence, and a Slurm dumped over Leela's head.* What do you think?

interesting idea, however i don't think it works within the continuity of the show. Morris and Munda would have told the girls about each other.

If it was AU, it could work.

but if it's following Devil's Hands then wouldn't that mean it was pulling from the continuity of the show? If Lauren was a part of Munda and Morris's life she would have had to know about Leela because of the Leela Museum they had all over their living room. And if both girls were a part of Munda and Morris's life and both knew they were mutants then there really would be no reason for them to not tell the girls about each other. And if Lauren did find out about Leela during the Devil's hands opera, instead of doing all that searching why not just confront Munda and Morris directly?

I really do like the idea of Leela having a sibling she never knew about, but i don't see how this particular scenerio could work.

Yes, well, there are three details I left out, the first for another fic. 1: If they left Lauren at the same orphanarium (This is mostly Nibbler's influence), Leela would have had minamal comfort knowing she had a little family. This comfort would make it so she wouldn't have to have her only outlet be Arcturan Kung Fu,this skill would be needed in another fic a that takes place after "The Turanga Sisters". The second reason, which makes sense kind of from the fact that in LTH and TMLH, we don't see the Leela shrine, would be that "Honest Bender's Waste Removal" would have caused another street cave in (from the toxic waste) that destroyed that part of Morris and Munda's house, and that very cave in (which is in another regoin of NNY.)Lauren would be walking dsown that street and fell into her parents' house. And thirdly,Lauren never flushed anything (screenplays, diary pages, maybe a bad photograph or two) of intrest down the toilet, except for a failed math test, which resides on the fridge. Hopefully my crazy logic will clear up those VERY loose ends. Oh, and no one knows Lauren is a mutant

but it still doesn't explain why Munda and Morris wouldn't tell the girls about each other. Like i said, if both girls know the Turanga's and know they are mutants why wouldn't their parents tell them about each other?

Like I said, Nibbler. The Nibblonians implanted technology in their heads that wouldn't make them say anything about the fact that they  have a sister (one being the other.) Unfortunately, the chips busted due to the extreme levels of toxcicity, which leads to two very guilt ridden mutants. And the chips malfuntioned very recently. And a chip was also implanted in Lauren's head to not make her able to go near Leela. But then to some binged drinking, the high alcohol level made the chip malfuntion. I can think VERY well on my feet when coming up with bizzare creative explanations.

ok then, why would the nibblonians care whether Leela and Lauren found each other? And when Lauren saw Leela at the opera why didn't she then confront Munda and Morris directly?

I like the idea, myself.  I think it would be cool if Lauren had been in another orphaniarium somewhere in New New Jersey.

No, that would be corny.  How about have Lauren get lost when she was a baby.  Munda and Morris had set her down by the current of the sewers and Lauren's basket got swept away.  Munda and Morris shocked that they couldn't save her decided not to tell their future children.  It would have been too tragic.

Either you have something really elaborate planned or you're making all of this up as you go along. Either way, i am intrigued. But do you have to destroy the Turanga's living room and all of their pictures and memories of leela? That just seems cruel. If they are reunited with Lauren after they reunited with Leela you can just say Leela made them take the pictures down and put them away in a photo album which is why Lauren never saw them.

Yes I did have to destroy SOMETHING. But, I like your version of the lack of Leela shrine better, Venus.

well good, cause having all of their memories of Leela's childhood destroyed would be like having Leela lose her bracelet. Just mean.

Ok, part 1 is ready and will be just posted here because I have no link. *I do not own Futurama or its characters. I only own Turanga Lauren as she is a creation of my own, freaky mind.
         "The Turanga Sisters"
*2977, 100 something fet below the surface*
Ear ear eye nose nose and throat doctor:"Well,I stand corrected from my comment three years ago when Turanga Leela was born, she is no longer the least mutated mutant, your second child can pass easily off as human.I say you abandon her on the surface, too.
Munda: "Well, I never thought I'd have two children on the surface, but anything to keep them from living the degrading life of a mutant."
  *Twelve minutes later.*
Nibbler suddenly jumps in through a window and runs around in his idiotic way around the Turanga's living room. Morris and Munda comment on how cute the little fluff rat is,but just as they hold Turanga Lauren to him, he snatches her away, and zapps them with a memory ray, making them forget what little they knew about the evil they had spawned.*  * At the New New Jersey Maximum Security Orphanarium, Nibbler leaves the bundle of terror on the steps, the only thing indentifying her being a scrap of paper with "Turanga Lauren" scribbled on it.*     *3004-05, Metropolitan Opera House*
LEELA:Fry, don't stop. I want to hear how it ends. * Lurking in the shadows is a 23 year old purple haired two eyed woman.*
WOMAN: There's something about her...other than the fact that I just know we're related.
*The woman leaves the building, and heads straight to the Central Beuracracy, using a $300 Theft-Break in kit that she stole from a Robot that had extremly low alcohol levels*
Part 2 whenever I can get on the computer. Comments encouraged. and I know I have the writing talent of my 12 year old cousin whose teachers hate her writing due to its crappiness.

Would you mind if I wrote my own version of this story? I'd (of course) give you credit for the idea.  :D

i had an idea kind of like that once. Well, the 'lifetime movie of the week' version that is. In my idea Leela had 2 sisters, one a couple of years older and one a couple of years younger, both were sewer dwellers because they had visable mutations. Leela knew of them but had never met them because they both lived in sewer villages under other cities. But their parents decided to have a family reunion which Leela was really excited about because in her view 'the more family the better'. But as it turned out they both completely despised her. Since during the girl's childhoods their parents had felt so guilty about leaving Leela and had all those pictures on the wall and focused on her so much her sisters had decided that she was the favorite and they resented her for it. And since she was a surface dweller and surfacers generally have a tendency to look down on the mutants they also came to the conclusion, before even meeting her, that Leela must be stuck up and think that she was superier. So they treated Leela really horribly when their parents weren't in the room, and when they were in the room the girls would start conversations about memorys the family shared (memorys Leela obviously was not a part of) in order to really drive home the point to Leela that she didn't really belong. That even though she was blood related she was really an outsider. Which to Leela was absolutely devastating since belonging somewhere was all she ever really wanted and if she couldn't fit in her own family then there was nowhere she could ever belong. And of course Morris and Munda were completely oblivious to the rivalry, they thought the reunion was a great success. Until Leela broke down and ran off in tears.

Yeah, well, when your trying to make it look like you're paying attention in class and really "writing" a fanfic, you tend to neglect continuity(sp?).
