Per Marc's request, I'm posting a nerdy fanfic thingy. Yay. I just finished it, actually...I was thinking about rewriting it for maximum funniness, but I don't have the patience for that. Just the fact that I finally finished something is a miracle, really. So please, try to enjoy this crap.

Proofreading is for sissies.

Cute.  smile But I don't know Futurama well enough to make any major changes to it. I've rewritten some fanscript sections for other people doing Simpson fanfics, much to the authors' dismay, but to their readers' delights. It's a tricky subject (fanfic), and it's brutal. It's also fantastic. There's a lot of creativity involved.

I'm quite surprised you got the correct format & margins pretty much down. I love the virtual reality Monopoly section. Could be beefed up, but that's not the point. That's the 'jumping off' section.
One main reason the scripts are so fresh & funny is that they've got one writer writing a rough draft of a script, then all the other writers look at it & suggest changes as they're imagination dictates. All notes are written down & explored. They have a brainstorm fest over the script to throw their wildest ideas into the rough first script.
You are just one person. They are many, & all supporting each other. That's why their scripts are so 'killer'. So don't be discouraged. Keep refining your imagination.  wink Good job!

Wow. Sarge and Kryten, thanks a LOT for the kind words. Also thanks to Velour, but not as much since she knows me and isn't allowed to publicly trash me.

And to everyone else--keep in mind that voting is completely anonymous, so you can say I suck without me finding your home address and hunting you down and killing you. So come on and vote already.

Found a typo:

"Oh my, yes! Even forgetting the fact that he’s wasting valuable company time...earlier today I put the finishing touches on my new invention, Prison 3002 Deluxe!"

Good call, FJ.  I was indeed making my rounds.

I thought it was great.  There were a few rough spots, but it's still high quality comedic material.  Several spots made me laugh out loud, which isn't the norm for fanfics.  I especially appreciated the lack of drama and romantic subplots (I'm one of those cold-hearted S.O.B.s everyone hates because I hate heart-warming, feel-good stories).

...and that's Dr. 88.  I recently finished my dissertation in Brontology.

I write scripts and i write one for a show similar to Futurama called starville (for sneak peek just ask)
I need help to make some characters funnier the first one is Imma, she is hard working and has the most conscience on the ship.
Also how can you lengthen scripts? And has anybody got any jokes i could use? (you would get cred)

Wow, I used to be a respected reviewer in this forum.  I guess I had only been here a month, people must not have known me very well.

[cantankerous old-timer]
For those of you who don't remember this fic (I'm barely sure I do), it was a good one.  FishyJeff was one of the best things that barely happened to PEEL fanfics and I never got a chance to tell him!  And now he's...he's...married!  Maybe someday when his SpawnyJeffs have grown up and migrated back to their ancestral breeding waters on their own, Jeff will return and post more fanfics, or at least an updated link for this one.[/co-t]

I remember it involved Scruffy long before it was popular to include him.  I remember there was also a sort of virtual, life-sized Monopoly game as well.

Erm, where is the story, BNB?  The link leads no where.  And after seeing all the reviews, it's a tease to not be able to read it.
