@Aslate: Sorry, my bad, perhaps I should've been clearer. What I meant is, you shouldn't say "i hate your art. you suck" but you can say "i don't like that one" and then you could suggest how to make it better. It hurts people's feelings when you don't give constuctive critism if you're going to critize anything at all. Sorry if I stated this wrong, I didn't know how else to say it at the time.

And good for you, FemJesse.  I hope you stay.  :)

Though I didn't really suggest that you had a problem with [-mArc-]... and I don't know what you're talking about with bodily fluids... I'm glad that at least we've reached some sort of... compromise. Also, I started a post using the words 'Fucking melodramatic shit.' so I'm happy too.

All in all, I like most of your stuff, though I will say now that I don't like the realistic ones. I mean that generally... I recall someone else doing a bunch of them. They just look too freaky to me.

On The Subject of Realistic vs. Cartoony, I have to agree with Chump, the realistic ones do look a bit... odd. Good, but odd. I much prefer your slightly stylised cartoon ones (like the DDR one ( http://www.scanartcentral.net/Submitted_Art/FemJesse/images/DDR2.jpg ), which I love    :D).

Anyway, good to see you're staying.

Her realistic art is amazing, espicially the weddding one. God, incredible. I like your realistic ones more, just a little bit more.  I'm very pleased to see you stay.  Now make with the art!  ;)

Disclaimer: I have no knowledge about what sparked this, nor have I read the previous page of replies (yet).

I would really hate it if you felt forced out of PEEL and Futurama fanart, because of gossip and talk behind your back. You're one of the best artists in the entire community and your work have always been a joy to watch. There have been some issues about some of them being too raunchy for PEEL, but I feel you and mArc have worked that out. I have no idea about how to critique art (just ask Doug  ;) ), but I know what I like and what I don't like and try to stay true to that when I respond to pictures posted. And I hope everybody does so.

All in all; don't leave us Jesse, the community needs you!

Now I'm off to read 40+ replies.

Yes, FemJ should stay. All opposed should be kicked resoundly in the shin.

i actually like her realistics more than the cartoony ones. I like her cartoony ones too but she's the only artist i've ever seen do a realistic that in my opinion didn't look freaky.

So far I have yet to see anyone get jumped on in this thread with regard to this matter. This being the case, I don't know where that came from.

Now, I would like to say, I really like your new pictures Jess. I would also like to say, I think you look sexyer than usual in your most recent pic. I dunno what it is, but when you look angry, and ready to kick some ass. wow!   :flirt:
I am so glad you have decided to stay. I think you had everyone really worried for a while. I am sure the people who have upset you have come to realize the error of they're ways. I doubt that they would have done any of it if they knew it would upset you. Anyway, I am already looking forward to seeing you next pic, and I can only hope everyone will like it was much as I will.    :)

Well my buddies look like that after a few hours of charcoal gesture drawing... we sneeze black boogers, too.  Its fun.  I guess my point is that he shouldn't look that messy because he's using a mechanical pencil... but then again...
its Fry...

Edit:  It is also in my opinion that after they get married, Fry gets progressively stupider.  I call it Homer Simpson Syndrome.  (That's why when he's doing especially stupid things in my pics, he's wearing the ring...)

Completely unrelated thing I remembered: I also had an idea for a fanfiction that involved a Renaissance planet.

she already has threatened to kill herself, when she turns 21. You obviously haven't been stalking her like everyone else.

Jesse: it sucks that people talked trash about you behind your back. Those people obviously have too much free time. But if you are going to be on the internet with losers you might need to get a thicker skin or learn to ignore jerks.

That said, I agree 100% with Chump re: what I see as a double standard. (i realize this may be 100% not related to the actual issue that made FJ want to leave in the 1st place) If the futurama feedbag guy was posting naked pictures everyone would be upset, but a sexy young girl posts them and 99% of people are falling allover themselves to defend her. (i'm not a fan of double standards, but i have nothing against FJesse herself)

Nice Fry pic Jess. When you have him holding such a great work of art while, looking so stupid at the same time, you make him seem autistic.

I have a question that may have not been asked before. When you have an idea for a drawing, does it come from your feelings on everyday happenings from your personalized point of view/personal philosophy. Or do you force your self, in, an example a a period of time where the art just 'has' to come out because you want it to come out then. Along the lines of a meditative period.

Bam?

Well I originally thought 21 would be a good age to drop dead... that way I would die with my 21 body, and my 21 mind...

But actually there are people here a bit older than me that are prooving that it doesn't matter how old you are, you can still be young at heart.

Oh Nick, you've discovered my dreaded secret! Velour and I are madly in love and we're going to be married next never!  The pain, the love, the shame the foaming!  Kiss me Velour!  Mmm.... Velour...

Fred has given me some advice, and I think I won't be quitting Peel.  I do, however, definitely need more creative breaks than I am presently affording myself.

That and my brain is pulsating so much that I can't think of any one-liner quips to go on...

EDIT:  OOOO!  Green Gesus that's a good question!  I'm glad you asked!
Usually I get an idea first, and then I go on that.  A few of my drawings become forced because I get tired and easily distracted.  My realistic ones just happen...  I usually don't go on suggestions for those kinds.  Sometimes for toony ones I'm just talking on AIM and I think "That sounds like something Fry would say..."  and those come out with much enthusiasm.  It depends on my mood.  My recent ones are sucking because I'm pissed.

Thinking of becoming a musician too Jess? I really like your CD-cover. Also did you just make that dragon pic? For some reason when looking at it I get the feeling that it's something you drew long ago, as in many years ago. Notice: I am also unsure of what SLG stands for.

SLG stands for Slave Labor Graphics, and its a company that publishes independent comic artists and graphic novelists.  All those tracks on that album are actually songs that I do sing... but not very well.  The dragon and Squee were made 2 or 3 years ago during the peak of my Jhonen Vasquez fandom.

Man, you get sick and stay in bed all day and the world goes to hell. Glad to see you decided not to leave FemJ. If you feel the need to push the boundries of your Futurama fan art again, past what the peel allows, I'm sure the TP won't give you much trouble.
Loved your art, the Bender on the last page was funny, the Fry loved the sort of 3d effect you gave it, the one where the toon you is prepared to duke it out with the P.E crew was awsome. as far as I know you've never made yourself the focus of an art.
I don't really like the Fry getting stupider thing. I like to think he's so happy and content that he just forgets how to think sometimes, but hey, it's your art do what you will. I'll still love it.

gee, all this controversy.

1 - It's the internet. There will be people who pick everything apart, no matter what.

2 - The number of people begging "Please don't go" is pretty damn pathetic. I like some of the things in this thread, but damned if I'll whine about leaving over the matter of some 14 year olds making fun of some artwork.

3 - kudos on deciding to post "tamer" stuff to abide by the rules

4 - Nix sucks lollipops!
