Below is the link to a fan song I wrote.
It's called "Stupid Fry".. and its got a cover picture too...

 http://www.leelazone.com.ar/songs/song14.shtml

Its also downloadable here:
  ftp://ftp.smoovenet.com/pub/leelazone/sounds/misc/Stupid_Fry-Jessica_Tommassello.mp3

Just keep an open mind and laugh at my crappy attempt at harmonizing.  I thought someone would think this hilarious somewhere.  I'm probably going to regret this if I ever become famous for my artwork...

Edit: I've fixed the Download link and it should work now,

I heard this at TLZ. Honestly, you need to find a soundtrack without the words. The actual singer overshadows you. Also, this is pretty much the actual song with only one word changed. You change lie with Fry. That doesn't really qualify as a fan song in my mind. That qualifies as *cough* ripoff *cough* May I suggest you work at changing the words? That will qualify as parody. Like Weird Al does.

Yea it was supposed to be a parody.

Quote

I used the midi and recorded from scratch, so there is no "original singer" (Fleetwood Mac) on the mp3. Its a melody.  There are 2 or 3 Jesses singing alto and soprano at the same time.

I actually did change every key word in the song from the original "Little Lies" by Fleetwood Mac and try to keep the rhyme scheme.  Weird Al still used the phrase "Like a... " when he wrote "Like a Surgeon" So I thought I had written a very feasible spoof.
"Stupid Fry" lyrics can be found at the link on top of the page.
The original "Little Lies" lyrics are as follows:

If I could turn the page
In time, then I'd rearrange just a day or two
Close my,
Close my,
Close my eyes

But I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to believe in you
Tell me,
Tell me,
Tell me lies

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh no, no you can't disguise
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

Although I'm not making plans
I hope that you understand there's a reason why
Close your,
Close your,
Close your eyes

No more broken hearts
We're better off apart
Let's give it a try
Tell me,
Tell me,
Tell me lies

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh no, no you can't disguise
(You can't disguise, no you can't disguise)
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

If I could trun the page
In time then I'd rearrange just a day or two
Close my,
Close my,
Close my eyes

But I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to believe in you
Tell me,
Tell me,
Tell me lies

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh no, no you can't disguise
(You can't disguise, no you can't disguise)

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh no, no you can't disguise
(You can't disguise, no you can't disguise)
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me, tell me, tell me lies)

Ok, so I was wrong. Listening to the song though, I could swear that you're singing over the original lyrics. But then, I'm hearing impaired, so what the heck do I know?

Very cool. I haven't listened to it just yet, but as I'm very familiar with that song (it's not my most favourite Fleetwood Mac song but anyway) and the parody looks great.  :D

Downloading...

I admit, I was put off for a little while by the comments about 'other singers', but since they're all you...

AH, here it is.  Hm... you're a good singer.  I think it's let down a little by the fact that you're singing over yourself, mostly because they're all a similar pitch and end up interfering with each other. Although, the fact that you made such an effort on this really puts you a step above most people.  Impressive.  :)

I just finished another one.  "500 Years" is a spinoff of "500 Miles" by The Proclaimers.
 http://www.scanartcentral.net/Submitted_Art/FemJesse/fansongs/FemJesse-500Years.mp3

The lyrics to this spoof are:

When I’m unfrozen, Yea you know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who wakes up and sees you
When I step out, well you know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the one that runs away from you.
If you catch up, yeah I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who goes along with you
If I get fired, I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who’s fired along with you.

But I would wait five hundred years
And I would wait five hundred more
Just to be the man to wait one thousand years
And stay with you for more.

When Bender folk sings, well I know I’m gonna laugh
I’m gonna laugh because its just more fun with you
And when Hermes, hands out our paychecks
You know I’m going to want to save it all for you.
When we’re working, yeah I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the one who’s slacking off with you
And when I show off, you’ll never know, you’ll never notice
I’m sure that you’ve got better things to do.

But I would wait five hundred years
And I would wait five hundred more
Just to be the man to wait one thousand years
And stay with you for more.

When you feel lonely, well I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the one you miss when you’re away.
When you are dreaming, and you think you did me wrong
I’m going to talk to you until you are okay.
When I lay down, yeah I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the one who’s hoping that you care
And if I’m cut short, well you know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the one who’s taken off the air.

But I would wait five hundred years
And I would wait five hundred more
Just to be the man to wait one thousand years
And stay with you for more.

But I would wait five hundred years
And I would wait five hundred more
Just to be the man to wait one thousand years
And stay with you for mo-o-ore.

That Proclaimers song is very difficult to sing... and I need better editting software to do all the things I want to do.  For example, I wanted to put quotes from the show during the "da lat da da" parts of the song.  I just omitted them instead.

I've been writing my own songs for years, and I do other perverted spinoffs.  My best spinoff is "I'd Like to Nuke the World" and its to the peacable descant tune of "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing"

The lyrics to that disturbing ditty are:
"I'd like to nuke them in their homes
And bathe the streets in blood
Sway in the breeze - Hung from the trees
And bury them in mud.

If I could aim well with my gun
And blow them all away
Then in the morning - on the front
I'd live another day

That's the sound of war - and we'll fight for almost everything... "

As compared to the original:

I'd like to build the world a home
and furnish it with love
grow apple trees and honey bees
and snow white turtle doves

I'd like to teach the world to sing
in perfect harmony
I'd like to hold it in my arms
and keep it company

Its a ludicrous look at really scary adament US Nationalists.  I can still see the humour in it even though I'm a moderate rightist.  =P
Should I put it up?  It could double as a D.O.O.P. song. =>.<=

i liked the way it sounded, it was like you and a frind or two were singing in tandem. i liked it.

also, i recomend cool edit 2.0 for your sound troubles. very powerful tool, costs a bit of cash, but best on the market. it's what they used to make sound for die another day and spyro the dragon.

Philip why don't I love you
Let me be a part of you
Listen to reason
Give into feelings (and impulse!)

Philip how do you love me?
When you turn to me, I'm not there-
-I don't care.

You're just beginning- and I can see the end
-just beginning.

Philip why do you love me?
When I close my eye- you're not there
-Aren't you aware?

And you're glowing so bright
And I cannot close my eye, because if I do
I might just see you-
-I don't want to.

Philip why don't I love you-
-It might just simplify... I don't know
-I won't show.
Philip why don't I love you
Let me be a part of you,
Listen to reason
Give into feelings...

Now its over, and you still are my friend
-now its over.

Philip why do I feel now,
The way you felt for me-
-now that you're gone...
now that you're gone...

I have to agree with everybody. You have a great singing voice, Jesse. And the song is good too.

Is it based on a real song?

Well its based on a song I wrote when I was little, the original lyrics were more something like
Baby, why do you love me,
When I close my eyes- you're not there...
You're not there.

I have another one that sounds similar.  I wrote it about my cat.  It goes:

You come when I'm calling,
You know when I'm sad,
You tell when I'm angry
-You run when I'm mad...
And I don't know where to start
I want to thank you with all my heart...

You'll keep a secret,
And that's fine with me,
We're best friends forever
-Like best friends should be...
And through all my pain and strife
You have been there all my life...

You're best friends with me-ee...
I think its destiny-yy.

The singing sounds GREAT.  The recording is another matter.

I'm guessing that you multitracked this with out being able to hear your "other" takes.

It's a pity, because you've got the voice to make this a real top notch song.

You know, if you check with your local music store you may find that you can rent a 4 track recorded, which while antiquated compared to the systems one can make with a PC, it's a totally self contained system that you can rent, use, return.

First you would record the music on Track 1, Left and Right, and then you could record vocals on tracks 2, 3 and 4.  If you have more vocals you can "bounce" the 2 tracks onto a 3rd, and then record more.

Best of all, you can mix you music and vocals, and pump them thru some head phones while you sing the harmonies, keeping them in sync.

Here's a poem I wrote a while ago called
"Fuck Love"

Here’s a list of things I don’t want at all:
I don’t want your pity, I don’t want you to call
I want to rip our pictures off my walls
I want to burn them, but I don’t have the balls.

I’m taking you off my buddy list
I’m going to forget that we ever kissed
I hate thinking of the life I missed
While my time with you was mostly pissed.

This is the last time
Never again will you
String me along,
Lead me on,
Waste my time.
Promise me you’ll love me forever, take the only thing I can control.
Then leave me forever.  The way I have nothing.
Was I so blind to conceal my patience and honor-
When you didn’t.
So sorry things didn’t work out
The way you planned
Are you leaving me to live your life
I should have seen that coming
Are you leaving me to the mercy of
Another
Guess what
There isn’t one.
There never will be.
Fuck Love.

Here's a poem called "Love Letters"  that I used in my realistic "In her Element"  http://www.leelazone.com.ar/fanart/femjesse/inherelement.jpg  pic:

Dear Fry,

{Leela:}
There will always be things
That you don’t think I see
I want you to know that I do
They mean a lot to me.
I think that your actions
Speak louder than your words
You make me feel that I can fly
Higher than most birds.
I see your eyes filled with hope
And it makes me want to live
You are my harness, my rope
I don’t want it to give.
I don’t want you to know
That I feel the same way
And I will hide it so
My rope doesn’t give way.

Dear Leela,

{Fry:}
I try to do things
And I wish that you’d see
But you never notice unless
My plans turn against me.
I don’t know what you think
I don’t know what you see
All I can do is wonder
If you’re playing games with me.
When I saw my attempts
By fate, denied
I wish I could tell you
The things that I’ve tried…
I want to know
If you feel the same way
I’ll never stop asking
So please tell me some day.

You make me feel unimportant sometimes
You make me feel like I’m waiting in line
You make me feel like I’m wasting my breath
But you are the only one that I’ve got left.

{Leela:}
You make me want to take the scenic route
You make me want to spend time with you
You make me want to take more than a glance
I wonder what would happen if I gave you a chance.

{Fry:}
I feel like I’ve been sent here
By some weird twist of fate
I know you want to help me out
But why must we wait?

{Leela:}
If you had a good thing going for you
That would never end,
Would you want to take my risk
Would you still be my friend?

{Fry:}
I don’t think you could break my heart,
I don’t think you understand,
I’ve been through it with you before
I’d still hold your hand.

{Leela:}
How do I know to have faith
I’ve wasted all my trust
False hope and one-night stands
Feel angry if you must.
I’m going to feel this way forever,
Until my bitterness is through
And if you’re there that distant day
I’m going to trust in you.

Love,
Leela

{Fry:}
I try to do things
And I guess you’ll never see
I was hoping you might notice
My plans work for me.
I don’t know what you think
I don’t know what you see
All I can do is hope
That you’ll stop playing games with me.
When I see your face
Your shining eye
I wish I could tell you
The things that I’m going to try
I want to know
If you feel the same way
I’ll never stop asking
So please tell me some day.

Love,
Fry

you are definately the artsy type, i am not unfortunatly. i can't draw for crap, sing at all, and my writting has gone down the tubes in my opinion, not that anyone here ever showed it to be in high regard...medium regard...low regard...or even worst regard...just "wanna be" regard, i am moving on. going insane will be finished one day, but not for a long time, and i will most likely not make my fry/amy fan fic, unless i am copyng that idea too since it has just been done.

going insane will finish, just not...whatever..
