Warhammer.  Gotta love it.  his is going to be part of a much larger image, if I ever get around to working on the rest.

I've been trying to do something similar for months though all my attempts are naff. Kudos to you good sir!  :D

I have a friend who has planned out all the Futurama characters in Warhammer - or something very similar anyway - though I don't see him for another 3 months unfortunately.  :hmpf:

I play Warhammer and 40K and I've been trying to draw stuff like that for years- I'm very impressed! Why not try Zoidberg as a Tyranid, trying to skewer Hermes?  :laff:

yes... do fry... *gurgles*  Kinda reminds me of the Terran Marine from Starcraft.  I know Warhammer lost their contract with Blizzard, so they changed the characters and name to StarCraft... bad deal on Games Workshop's part...  My friend is a 40K addict and makes terrains in his basement.

You can probably tell by the title that the scribble to the left was meant to be Hermes.  I really liked the idea of Ziody as a Tyranid, so I went with it.   :D

Perhaps I shold try finishing one of these first to see how it looks...  :D

Do I sense someone else that's into color theory?
That's goregeous, and putting marigold next to royal purple like that is the smartest thing ever.  Also, the dodgy highlights reflecting the use of the yellow metal create delicious downward focal movement.
How do you plan on coloring the guns?  It might be difficult because you might want to stick to the warm color scheme you've got going... gun colors are generally "cold."

The guns... well I'll get to them when I get to them.  Generally the guns in warhammer are just black, but it's fairly easy to shift them one direction or another.

I'm not actually that strong on colour theory terms.  All I remember from art college is how to make the colours match up right.  ;)  I'm also aplying the stuff I've learned painting the actual warhamer minatures.  Mixing yellow to hilite red is much better than using pure white.  :D

By the way, how do you mean "dodgy"?

Doging is a technique where you lighten a general area to be a pure saturated color or tone.  You have a very highly saturated color scheme going.  Leaving the guns black may detract from that.  Plus, the details you put into them will be lost, unless you make highlights on them somehow.

Ohh, dodging.  :)  Sorry, I'm just used to 'dodgy' meaning it's a bit... well, dodgy.  :D

I still havge loads of work to do on this.  :)  The guns will come out fine, I promise.  :D

archonix, that's some great work.
as i (sometimes) play warhammer40k and i'm definately not a friend of the space marines (i don't like the artwork and the story behind them) ... how about you make the professor ride into the battle inside of a tau tank (looking out of the turret or something)?
first of all, the tau tanks look really cool and the tau kinda fit the professor with their technology-addiction.

it's just an idea though.
apart from that: awesome work.
