Fair enough. It's only going to part 10 though. I already said it in the release thread, but I'll say it again. The writing has changed from script to prose to better fit my plan of descriptive scenes. Script doesn't allow for that and it gets annoying

Apology accepted (but you've scarred me for life  ;))
As for Morbo's line; I don't want death to come quickly to F*x, I want them to realize the error of their ways.
IE more Futurama.

Hey, if you're going to dream, dream big...

Dave Vincent has raised the fanfic bar with part 7 of "Background Noise". He has done an excellent job keeping his muti-threaded story moving at a brisk pace. In addition to that he has added some rich character background for our favorite cyclops. His version of Leela - Sean and what that did to her is top drawer stuff!

There were two of the scenes in part 7 that I found very compelling and that stood out for me as some of the best fiction I have seen. The first was Munda's refusal to pull strings for Leela's sake. Dave conveyed Munda's reaction to the request wonderfully. She refused Leela but made her understand why and you could feel Leela's shame and embarrasment.

The other was although brief very riveting. This was the scene at the end where Fry and his buddies are on the shuttle. Dave did a first rate job crafting that scene, you could almost feel the fear and smell the vomit..

Yup, "Background Noise" has moved into number 1 on my list. Kudos to DV!

And another thing! I really appreciate the way Dave weaves real life references into his work. I am talking about the references to the various defense companies in the part about Leo Wong's scheming. It is sorta inside ball but it adds a special flavor to the fic for me!

I like SpacePilot3000's The Fry-Trix: Rebooted and Woodbot 2.0's Futurama WarsEpisode One: A New Smope
They are good so good, that they made me rush into finishing part two to my story, From SCAM With Hate at ff.net.

Yeah, it's up to 7 chapters by now, and still running full steam.

And I 'd like to acho everything Ol'coot said. This is one hell of a fan fiction, and it's a solid #2 on my all-time list.

What's #1 you might ask? Well, only the author and I know that.  ;) Soon you'll all know though.

There is so much going on in it that it could almost reach novel length. I suspect it will take a long time to finish but it will be worth it!

im readin universe of malice now and all i can say is "WOW!!!!". im on part 10! great story, great writing, only bad thing so far although i didn't think i would be im against a possible alesia and fry relationship. FRY AND LEELA WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER! espicially according to background noise but thats not the point. woo go ken white, or kif white according to PEEL.

a lot of shippers disliked the Fry/Alesia plot. I did my fair share of complaining about it on the raview thread. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before kif posts the final chapter.

Thanks bish. That sentiment is shared by many readers, as Venus said. But it appears it was a relationship they mostly loved to hate  :)

As for the next part. Well... I'd say you'll be waiting a good month or so still. Things have been slow lately, though I'm hoping to get lots done this weekend if possible. And it's also increasingly likely that it'll be split into two-final parts. Hold tight though... it WILL be released and finished.

Hey Kif, i was rereading chap 21 of UOM (i was bored) and i was wondering why Alesia gave Fry her moon necklace and told him to give it to Leela? Why would she want Leela to have it, didn't her mom give that to her? And why would Leela even want the thing.

Well, that is up to the reader's interpretation to a certain degree. In a sense she's giving Fry something that meant a lot to her, and then telling him to pass it on to Leela is almost a way of saying that she concedes, and that she wants Fry to be happy, i.e. happy with Leela. As for whether Leela would want it... well... no comment for now  ;)

i don't see why she would. i certainly wouldn't. First off, it's creepy. Second Leela didn't like her, i doubt that would change now that she's dead. And third she would never be able to wear it without Fry thinking about Alesia. Talk about living in someones shadow. Fry admitted that he would have picked Alesia over Leela. I wouldn't be so quick to strap a reminder of that around my neck.

I can highly recomend Rye guyīs "Even longer day" (A long night sequel).

-Iīam also very satisfied with "Delicious surprise". Maybe it would just need some quicker start and have better done some things at the end (Mundaīs characterization, coming of children (Lilah and Kifīs twins) could be more importent in the plot, hints about Nibbler were little pointless and epilogue could be more dramatic). I hope that Missy will one day write again something longer.

-Can someone tell me why the very promising "Dead manīs tale" never done itīs second part?

I have to agree with Rhodan's take on "An Even Longer Day" In fact I greatly enjoyed both fics (just wish there had been more!). I have found that most of the fics I enjoy feature a somewhat more adult Fry, not the Fry of the series. (You have to believe that the show version would have taken advantage of Leela in the first part...)
  :hmpf:

Ah unfinished stories... A cronic condition it seems with many writers. That pesky real life tramples all over the story output, don't ya just hate how that happens?

that's the problem with serial fics. That's why i think it's best to release a fic all in one go. You can't dissapoint anyone that way.

Yeah, AsylumFry, tell us....it's your fic, isn't it? I wish that story had a second part, I loved the style and plot.
I also have to rave about both "Backround Noise" and Delicious Surprise"...which, so far, are the only stories to take advantage of Leela's parents as major characters. Munda and Morris have such potential, as they were great in the (only, sob) three episodes they were in. Go Munda and Morris, the cyclopian Bronx couple!

Morris and Munda are major characters in my story too. There's no denying their greatness. Their from the Bronx? Is that what accent Munda has? I thought it was kinda Long Islandish or Bostonian or something.

Bronx or Long Islandy....it's a NY varient. Doesn't sound Boston in the least. You're writing a fic? With the Turangas? I'd love to hear more about that, and I'm always interested in beta-ing.

You have accents, don't go all denial. I tried to say that about Connecticut, but then talked with people from Indiana.
Either that or they have a Brooklyn accent...it's a cute touch no matter what.
