I just read Missy's Delicious Surprise 11, and it going strong for me.  I love the way that she has Bender and his love interest talking with each other, and am looking forward to what appears to be an even more intense story coming up in the next few chapters.

Neither actually. The reason was the DNS problems we had ealier this month. For some reason it meant that Missy's email with chapter 11 never reached my inbox. She kindly resubmitted it along with chapter 12.

While I'm here: I like the way the story is developing too. Nice pace, good conversations, etc. Really great stuff so far.

What do you think about "Miscarriage of Justice"? I donīt say it  isnīt in some parts good written but...
Miscarriage- Oh my God! What a *nice* Futurama theme!
And I donīt think Fry was much in character when he finds out what happened Leela.

"Miscarriage..." and its prequel could have used a biiiiiig fat editing job.  Plus both of them just seemed a little....off.  But that's just me!  And no one listens to wee little Mango.  :D...

nasteve,

"Flowers in the Window" was fantastic, a top drawer bit of work! I especially ejoyed your portrayal of Fry - managing to hold himself together while Leela needed him, then crumbling after he left her room - choice!

The whole story was very moving but the ending was a knock-out! It doesn't happen easily to this crusty old cynic but your ending got me all teary eyed and sniffly (gad - I said it!). I am sure that the more predictable end wouldn't have been nearly so moving!

Great stuff Steve - Hope to see more!

Delicious Surprise 13 is out now, and a good job as always.  I like the way that she's making Zoidberg a little more sympathetic in the story, and nice cliff-hanger as well.

I thought that what he wrote WAS the more predictable end...

Also, ditto the last thing Ol'coot said (forgot to say that earlier).

Well unfortunately, some of us writers have such a thing as a life and that means we can't sit there at the keyboard 24/7. When I wasn't writing, I used to hate waiting too. Now that I do, I understand it more. I also know that the Frylight Zone beckons me to finish it and as much as I'd love to pound away until it's done and quit school and all that just to finish it. I'm being realistic here.

DS is coming along quite nicely though.

P.S. If anyone besides me atill cares, part 7 is now in progress. Further updates will be in the release thread.

i don't expect anyone to write 24/7 i wasn't complaining or hinting or anything, i was just saying in general that waiting is hard and the better the product is the harder it is to wait for it.

I'm struggling to write my fanfic right now. Every time I finally finish my homework and really get down to writing, I hit a writer's block.

And now I'll be away all weekend. Fucking great, eh?

At least I've mapped it out and finished the introduction... not much left but the actual writing, which takes a while.

I just finished reading Rye Guy's fiction, The Other, and it's looking pretty interesting.  I think that all the shippers in here will like it a lot.  I'm awaiting the next part anxiously.

I hate it when someone releases a fanfic that probably is using the same 'Leela is the Other' concept as my in-progress one   :(

I'll go read it later. After I finish writing up this gratuitous flashback...

don't worry if your fic is similar. Cause even if the general plot is similar, the situational details will be different.

Read Missy's Delicious Surprise 14, and it was a great read as usual, and some questions were answered, while others came up.  Sounds like this is going to get even more interesting.

Yea the only thing about those "Other one" fics are that I think they may end up being simular to my upcoming one, which would pretty much take out the story and/ or seem like I'm coping the "Other" idea. Hopefully Rye Guy's will be different than mine.  :)

I don't think I reviewed Missy's DS here yet, but I've been reading it and think it's a fun fic, very original. Though it's not one of my favorites, i enjoy reading it a lot.  :)

Oh crud.. My "still in production" fic is about that too. But I'm going for the more "story-telling" way instead of dialog.
Hehee... When I thought of writing about Leela as the 'other' role, I thought it would be quite unique from the rest since there wasn't (at that time) any fanfic about it. Guess eveyone thought so too..  :hmpf:
But no worries, Hil. Me thinks yours,Guys and mine would still stand out on its own quite well.

Anyway is that Dandelion Wine fanfic up on TLZ completed already? I mean is that all to it?

Well mine actually was "in progress" before the "other one" was even broguth up (I think I even started it before TWOF was shown on fox). But once I saw TWOF the whole other thing playe d abig part in my fic.

Ow.

Well I've been watching Futurama since only recently and your fic is most definitely going to be better than mine anyway. So you win.

UOM was updated tonight. It was deliciously long. It kept me away from my pizza for almost an hour. But can i just say, right now, that i hope Alesia dies and dies hard. I hope her hair explodes. It ends in a cliff hanger but i think i may have figured out what's gonna happen next. i could be wrong but i kinda get the sense that:

I finished reading UoM 18, and I want to say, being a Fry/Leela shipper, I was...incensed to say the least.  Fry only belongs to Leela, nobody else!  ;)

Now, being a guy, I can see what happened happening to Fry.  With what Alesia told Leela, and Leela's reaction to it, there is a case of feelings there.  However Venus, while I agree with part of your spoiler, I think that it will be a little different.

But I guess we'll find out in due time.
(soon I hope)  ;)

All I can say about that last scene is:

KENNETH YOU BASTARD YOU'VE SCARRED ME FOR LIFE!!! I'VE BEEN BLINDED!! OH GOD I DON'T THINK I CAN IMAGINE WHAT'S COMING NEXT! SCARRED! SCAAAARRRRRED!! AAAARGH!

But I'm kidding about the whole 'Kenneth you bastard' part, really  :D

The rest of the chapter was great, in fact, possibly beyond great.

I'm actually leaning towards what Venus thought. I won't repeat it but I think that'll be what happens. Yeh. Anyway, my apologies for calling you a bastard, Kenneth. You're alright  :p

Do you like stories where people die by any chance? As in, they're dead already kinda thing? Ya know?

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I enjoyed the whole thing. Some people are letting their shipper feelings got in the way. I loved that last scene and I sincerely hope there's a catfight with some mud and ripped clothing involved. Whee! What a fun chapter! Can't wait for the next part. Hey! I just gave myself an idea for part 8 of TFZ! One that all shippers can enjoy! Whoo! *Clears throat* Uh sorry!

In a sixth sense kinda way you mean? yeah i like stuff like that. Or are you talking about the story opens and the person in question had already died and the story mostly focuses on the people who are grieving? I like those too. Or are you talking about a story where the dead person is still around and trying to get people attention, like in 'ghost'? cause i like those as well. I'm fairly easy to please

If I said it was kind of like both and neither and something else too, you'd read it?

Good. That makes about three (or four, if Kenneth isn't offended by my post) people who will actually dare read my fanfic. When I get around to writing one more scene. Damn this writers block!!

You know Venus, I read your post, then went back and read UoM again.  You know, I knew something didn't feel right, but I just couldn't quite figure it out, but your post helped to crystallize it for me. Yeah I do see what you said there, and I wonder, well gotta wait for part 19 to find out for sure.

Hey Venus, Asylum-Fry, don't let that block get to you, just let it work itself out, sometimes a single turn of phrase is all it takes.  I think that you write great stuff AF, so your next story will be wonderful as well.  Venus, I'm still looking forward to your "Sting" fanfic.  Just keep plugging away, 'kay.  :)
