Since they aren't being posted at PEEL this isn't the place to complain about it, if anything it will just get people going to look what the fuss is about.
Thread Closed

Tweek.

Fair enough, but don't you think it could have been an interesting discussion? Moving it, rather than blocking it up, might be an idea?

Marcus.

Huh?

[EDIT]Just seen the thread.  I don't see why we need to have a discussion about whether something needs discussing.[/EDIT]

You're right. The dirty pictures have to stop.
Well, I'm against censorship - but some pictures shouldn't be shown - specially not at public Fanart Pages. Those art is (mostly)
an offense against women and has to be stopped.

You're not our sex objects? Are we supposed to look at female sexuality in some sort of new metaphysical plane? Ommmmm.....

Here we go. My opinion on people who say things like that. You earned it.

Anyone who goes around looking to be offended will be. So don't don't scour the internet in search of pictures and sites so you can bitch about how they are wrong. You say: "us woman are not your sex objects." Besides the poor typing (We not us) and subject agreement (women not woman) I see another problem. What does it have to do with you? How is it sexist? The answers are: nothing and it isn't, respectively. The pictures in question are not talking about you, they are talking about fictional cartoon characters. And are pictures of women in states of undress sexist? It would be sexist if they said: women shouldn't vote, or women belong in the kitchen. If it were something like that, I could agree. And speaking of people drawing "lewd" pictures, lets check out a few of these:

Look familiar? Are you saying its ok for you to do it but not this guy? And even if you say its different because since he isn't a woman and you are, that he is making you sex objects and defiling your gender, while you are merely exploring, what about Bender? Is he being a sex object here? He's we're less then a lot of Dave's pictures...

I'm not saying I like Dave's stuff, but thats his way of doing things, I am nobody to tell him not to. Besides, the stuff on FSAC is TAME compared to the stuff he does on his page, which I won't even post a link to.

Long story short, nothing is going to happen.

My pics are not as bad as Dave.

The first one is taking from an episode and it's not rude. the people who made Futurama did that it was even shown at daytime and such. second one was Xmas Leela. she's covered!

Yeah and that's Bender in his underwear. he not fully naked.

what Dave dose was kind of like in a porn style of Leela wearing very very little.

BTW Chump and Paul been to Dave's site? if so why the hell you guys do there?

Uh, yeah?!
Realize: There is a difference between erotic art and pornographic art.
Erootic art is showing people who are beautiful (in the opinion of whoever). And erotic art is showing people. People you have respect to.
Pornographic "art" is showing "things, less worth than slaves". Not a sign of respect.
Is this good? nah ...
But, it seems that this is hard to learn for some people, so ...
Well, why don't we do all pornographic art on this page from this Dave and just let the not pornographic art at the other sites?  :) Well, I mean if someone still wanna see "pornographic pictures" he (99% he, 1% she) may goes to this Dave's page and let the other people live their life at the not-potnographic sites  :)

Hmmm... what part of your arguement to tear apart first?

First of all, you were whining about Paul's siggy block. Thats from an episode. He changed the background. So did you. You made it white, he made it a beach. Big deal. Your complaint against yourself stands it seems.

Second, as for Dave's site: When he launched it, he asked me for a link. Do you blindly link to people's sites? No. You (wait...) LOOK first. His stuff up to that point wasn't that bad, so it was in consideration. When I LOOKed at the site, it wasn't appropriate for many, so we chose not to make a button link, but we were obligated to link with a word on his own page. Its still there. Make sense?

So Bender isn't fully naked, so its ok? Neither is Leela I believe. And they have about equal skin showing. And what about on the show?

Scenes like that one? Are you gonna start asking for those episodes to be banned because of stuff like that? Or when the Professor and Hermes sit around naked? Thats disgracing men! According to your rules, anyone who sees those are making men sex objects!

Squirm all you want Jules, you do stuff too that can be "offencive". You can't judge people.

Unca Dave's art is over the top, creepy and when you get right down to it pretty unrepresentative of the characters.  Pornographic and sexist? I think not.  To blanket policy someone as a pervert just because what you see doesn't turn your crank artistically is the same kind of mentality that Christians use to Ban "The Devil's Music" because they are just plain shocked or turned off by it.  Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't make it bad.  To say you against censorship and in the same breath say those pictures must be stopped makes as much sense as saying I love kids but people shouldn't be having all that filthy sex.

Well... I haven't seen these pictures so I don't know how 'pornographic' they are, but it's a free country, and pictures of nude women/men/cartoon characters aren't sexist in themselves - I guess the main thing is to keep them in an appropriate place so that those who don't want to look at them can avoid them. Let the men have their porn and let me have some chocolate!

Yeah. Well, I can understand people not wanting that on PEEL, which is, last I heard, a more or less family oriented site. Or at least to have them linkified instead of posted directly on the thread. Or maybe posted in threads clearly labeled "Pg-13" But really, you can see "worse" in some pg-13 movies.

Keeping them off PEEL directly is fine and dandy, a link is more suitable I guess. But it's not even a real woman... heaps of 12 or 15 rated films have got a bit of butt or nipplage shot. I don't like the artwork itself tho - I don't think leela has nipples like that for a start.

I thought that stuff didn't need advertising. When a thread is closed that doesn't mean open a new one to discuss exactly the same topic. If you'd started a "Too much smut at FSAC" thread in the appropriate forum that would have been ok, this isn't.
