I just thought it'd be cool to have a thread to bounce around some ideas.

Ok, this is silly, but I always wanted to write a fanfiction set in the Futurama canon universe, but then portals start popping up, and people AU's and fan characters start popping out and causing havoc ^^

I've also wanted to draw a huge group picture of everyone's Futurama fan characters.

I bet if somebody made a Futurama-Invader Zim crossover story, It'd turn out to be pretty cool, especially since they're both primarily set in space, and both are in some sort of future form of Earth. The only thing that could make it bad would be an overdose of GIR...

I've had another idea for a fanfic for a while now, but I'm not sure if I'll ever write it. It would probably be a two parter, so here's the basic story of part one.

Leela falls in love with Larry, one of Mom's sons, but when she finds out that Mom is an evil tyrant, she decides to just dissapear from the situation, telling Larry she has to go on a Buisiness trip. She hides out in the PE Building for a while, and soon Igner and Walt get suspicious. They find her hiding there, and she confesses to Larry that she dislikes his evil mother. To her surprise, all the sons agree with her opinion on Mom. They then try to assassinate her with the help of Roberto. Roberto eventually kills her, only to to discover that Mom is a robot! The slowly dieing Mom-Bot then reveals that Larry, Walt and Igner are all experimental life forms, made by many scientists including Farnsworth. She also explains that she was made as a represenative of the company, acting as the sweet, friendly version in the fat suit to draw people's attention,  but she had some bugs that would give her the bad attitude. She'd try to reveal who the real owner is, but she could die before she can say it.

The Futurama/Simpsons Crossover Comic dealt with that matter. Comic figures became alive and wrecked Havoc upon NNY.

I JUST HAD THE BEST FANFIC IDEA EVER.

It can be called; BENDER SITS ON THE COUCH!
It will be all about Bender's amazing adventures on the spectacular Planet Express Lounge's Couch! He can watch TV! He can guzzle down Slurm and Olde Fortran!
He can even complain about Calculon's replacement actor!

THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!

How about one where Hermes and Zoidberg get a skin transplant after an explosion?  Hermes is now the lowly doctor and Zoidberg becomes a gangsta!

A Green Hornet parody would be cool.  Bender and Hermes secretly have a moonlight job where they are the Green Hornet and Kato.  They go find where ever there is crime and stop it.  While this is going on, Fry, Leela, Zoidberg, and Amy do deliveries.   However, Bender as the Green Hornet and Hermes as Kato are considered  by some people in NNY as criminals, too.  Fry gets jealous and is bound and determined to find out what Bender and Hermes are up to.    Fry fears his friendship with Bender is about to be over, and Leela advises him to move on and forget it.   Zoidberg and Amy tell Fry they will always be his friends.  

Then one day, Fry follows Bender and Hermes as the Green Hornet and Kato without them knowing and Fry becomes targeted by alien drug dealers they were after.   Then the drug dealers follow Fry and wait for the right time to attack.   The alien drug dealers take everyone hostage (yes, even Leela) and take them to a boating dock where they are all tied to chairs and about to enter a death trap where Fry, Leela, Zoidberg, and Amy are all about to get an 800 metric ton weight dropped on their heads.  Bender and Hermes come back to Planet Express and see signs of foul play.   Then it's up to them to track down the drug dealers, free their friends and save the day!


There should be one where they go to a Western planet that has a drunken mayor.  Then the townspeople make Bender the new mayor, and want him to improve the place.  However, the townspeople are terrified of some Bandits called The Jonas Boys who are terrorizing their planet.

Bender, Leela, Fry, and the rest help the townspeople to fight back.   Once they do, the Jonas Boys capture Zoidberg.  Then Fry, Leela, Bender, Hermes, and Amy all stock up on weapons even a cannon.   They all rescue Zoidberg and lead the Jonas Boys into a trap where the townspeople finally come together and defeat them once and for all.

This idea is based on those James Garner 'Support Your Local Sheriff' movies.  Gave up on this idea, and I'll let someone else have it.


Also, a parody of Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Bender and Fanny would be cool, too!

And one where Zoidberg accidently drinks some spaceship polish and  gets hit on the head with the bottle and becomes a butler named "Zoi-Derick!"  And everyone hates his classy ways.   Leela can tell everyone they should respect him, and Fry and Bender can say, "Zoi-Derick!"  YUCK!  Then later everyone gets fed up with Zoidberg's newfound neatness and cleaniness and goes somewhere that's filthy.  And Zoidberg messes up by triying to cook duck l'orange and lights an oven that blows up the building.


Plus one where the PE Crew goes on a ski resort and they have snow statues attack them, and it all turns out to be some ruse made up by some goof-off college kids from Mars UniversityAnd why not give Leela and Amy their own episode?   Maybe one where they go to a desert planet and have to save Scruffy from being assassinated by Mummies whom he's in debt with.


And a spoof of 'Taken' where Bender and Hermes are in the Liam Neeson role.

Plus, one that's like SMFP, but only with Cop Shows.  CHiPS, The Rockford Files, and Adam 12 are parodized.

- The Orphanarium sounds like a good question for the "What-If" machine. First run Leela was often sad due to her parentless time there. A "you do not know how that was" remark made by her could easily spawn such an story.

- Peter Pan was the boy who did not wish to grow up. Due to his immaturity, I think Fry is a more suitable candidate. Sure, Bender is not really what you call a "reasonable adult", yet his immaturity is rather based on selfishness. While Fry has a more childish quality to him.

Anyway, these ideas I posted were all fanfic ideas I had that I gave up on.  Maybe someone from here can take some?  I'm doing the ones about the ski resort and the 'Taken' parody with Bender and Hermes.

I'm considering attempting to write a fanfiction that would take place after "Meanwhile" where Fry and Leela get to keep their memories when they return to the past. I haven't got a firm plot planned out yet, but it'll revolve around the Nibblonians and go into Leela's role as the "Other."
It wouldn't involve the Brainspawn since Coldangel already did such amazing work with them, but I'd invent my own villains or expand upon minor characters from the series. Also, there would be minimal romance in it since I have very little experience in that arena, and I'm not comfortable writing sex scenes.

Personally, I like the idea of expanding the roles of minor characters. It uses established characters from the show, but -when they did not have too much screentime- you can still give them a personality to your liking*.

About "romance". When Fry and Leela keep their old memories, they'd have the familiarity of an old couple spending their whole life together. So, some overly "lovey dovey" seems in fact not really in order, but rather the routinely demeanor of two people who know each other very, very well.

Also, TV and comics show an established pattern for sex scenes:
- A couple entering the bedroom, and seeing the door close. It's clear what happens, no need to go into details.
- Just having finished sex: Both will be seen lying on their back, eyes looking to the ceiling, with that goofy satisfied expression. Should some hints about the sex be necessary, that is the scene. (Though it will be usually a panted "That was great" or, when it comes to a joke "Best sex performance ever. And you were also not too bad".)
- When it's over for a slightly longer time, the usual posture is the man lying on his back, with the woman snuggling closer resting her head against his chest. This is the classical scene for "pillow talk" that does not have to be sex or even relationship related. Usually, those dialogs are an opportunity to pass relevant information to the reader.

On a little OT note: As a surprising use of recurring characters, I planned to have Dixie and Trixie as (minor) villains in "30", because they looked so harmless and cute so far. And then they came up with "The Butterjunk Effect", and showed these two had some kind of combat training by now. Of course my immediate thought was "Oh cmoooooon..couldn't you have used ANYONE ELSE for that episode????"

How about one that makes fun of the crisis in Egypt or Syria?  Some aliens mummies who are working for Hosni Burburak's head come to Earth and NNY is the first place they invade.  The PE Crew try to take down the mummies and Bender kills Hosni Burburak's head.  The Mummies are from Osirus 4's sister planet "Insoh 8"  Hosni backwords, get it?

The Mummies swear revenge and they have a new leader: Mohummad Morsi's head!  He orders the mummies to destroy PLanet Express once and for all.   Will they succeed?

ALso, there can be a funny scene where the mummies come to the door and Zoidberg goes and answers it and Zoidberg can say, "What can I do for you fine......." then he realizes it's the Mummies and Zoidberg can scream "KILLERS"!!!!!!


Even though Futurama is over, at least there's fanfics!  Can't wait to read yours Anna!  Post it to Futurama Madhouse if you do!

Fry wins the lottery and buys a beachfront property on the Jersey Shore and  evil robots who created the lottery chase after him, and Leela and Bender have to save him.  

Got this idea from an episode of The Rockford Files!  Oh, how that show inspires me.....

Or how about one where Fry reads on the internet that his cousin got frozen and is living in LA and working at a PE like company there?   Fry and Bender go there and they find out it's really a strange old couple who are into oddities-like stuff like Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and collects things from the past.  Then they find out there is no cousin!  Will Fry become part of their collection?

I only post ideas because these were fanfic ideas I gave up on.  Anyone wants them, now's the time.

How about one where Farnsworth is about to marry a rich widow who spent time in a mental hospital, and showers the crew the gifts?   Then the rich widow dumps him for a young waiter who's after her money and the crew stops at nothing to get what's rightfully theirs!   The widow's money that is....

Anyone seen that Hatfields and McCoy's miniseries on the History Channel? That would be a cool concept for Futurama do to.  It could be either of these two scenarios:   Fry, Leela, Bender and the rest go to a planet that's like the 1800's in the midwest and meet two fueding families like them, or PE can have a fued with Mom's Friendly Robot Company, where PE is like the Hatfields and Mom is like the McCoys.  Bender can steal a robot pig from Mom's while Zoidberg has a forbidden romance with one of Mom's secretaries. 

See what cool things Futurama could've done if it had been renewed?

I'm going to post lists of fanfic synopsis on here, 'Create Terrible Episodes' style. If anyone wants to use one of them for a full-out fanfic, just message me for permission.
"The Glaxarr Games"
The PE crew go off to make a delivery to a little planet in the middle of the universe, Glaxarr, that is known for being very dangerous. When the aliens on the planet receive their package, they realize the item inside has been terribly broken, which quickly enrages them. They fly to Earth and abduct the PE crew, bringing them back Glaxarr. When they land, they individually place the Crew in a large arena where they have to face many terrifying alien monsters. They all kill the monsters they are pitted against and meet up in what seems to be the middle of the arena, much to the Alien's displeasure. They decide to face them themselves, and fly down into the arena. The crew fights them and triumphantly wins. They realize that there is no way to escape the arena, however. While making their final goodbyes to each other, as they assume they'll die in there, someone has the idea to pile up the guts of all the alien monsters and climb out. They do so, getting extremely filthy in the process, and hijack the Alien's ship to fly back home.

I'll make more synopsis when I've got more ideas, by the way.

More ideas:

A James Bond spoof (my sister was going to do this one) where Bender is Bond, Leela is a Bond girl (she's a carbon copy of Michelle Yeoh from TND) Farnsworth is Q, Hermes is M, and Amy is Miss Moneypenny.   Bender's mission is to take down the nortious Slurmfinger who wants to turn the Earth's oceans into Slurm.  Zoidberg and Zapp are Slurmfinger's henchmen named Trapjaw and Branny.  TND stand for Tommorow Never Dies.  Also, Slurmfinger wants to take over Hollywood with a mind control device so only lowbrow comedy movies are made and wants to kill all the good actors like George Clooney and keep the ones like Will Ferrell.

Planet Express becomes a Nielson family and Bender messes up television.  Shows such as The Scary Door, All My Circuits, and Cops Department.

A parody of that movie Duck Soup would be cool.  Bender as Rufus T Firefly, Fry as Chicolini, Zoidberg as Pinky, and Hermes as the Zeppo character where Bender declares war on Zapp's kingdom.

A Poltergeist thing would be cool.  Zoidberg disturbs some Indian remains that he found aound PE and some spirits take over the company and a portal is on a TV and Cubert gets sucked in. Fry,  Leela, Bender, Hermes, Amy, Farnsworth and Zoidberg all contact the spirits where the exit is, the exit is through Zoidberg's ass.  Bender goes into the portal and gets Cubert back.

Farsnworth invents a machine that needs berries.  He sends the PE to a planet full of berries to be picked and in a castle there lives a Warlock who wants an ingrediant for his stew.  A male human.  So the Warlock calls his minions and they capture Fry, Leela (yes her too), and Zoidberg.  The Warlock wants Fry for his stew and Leela just gets locked in a dungeon knocked out and Zoidberg is locked in a room with a Pirahana plant who wants a mate!  It's up to Bender, Hermes, and Amy to stop them.  

Once Leela is freed, she helps Bender, Amy, and Hermes to take down the Warlock and the plant.    And saves Fry and Zoidberg.

Best idea of the batch, IMO.  The crew's interaction with something supernatural would be a welcome change.

Thanks dude!    How about one where Fry and Bender have a fight and Bender leaves.  But he still works for PE of course.  Then Fry finds a new robot friend.  The new robot he befriends is like Frankenstein and he was built by a scientist who was in a mental hosptial.   Aliens want to destroy it.    

Also, Fry, Bender, and Leela get framed for a crime they didn't commit and their only hope to clear their names is to help a 70's Blaxploitation-esque detective named Super Sly to track down a criminal.   Hermes, Amy, and Zoidberg all testify on their behalf, but it doesn't help. 

Maybe one where Fry, Bender, and Leela infiltrate an abandoned space station that's believed to be taken over by aliens, but it's really a crazed vampire cult.  They all get captured and put into a maze.  Hermes, Amy, Zoidberg, and Farnsworth are all in PE watching it all on TV.

A spoof of  that movie The Incredible Burt Wonderstone would be cool.    Bender wants to fulfill his dream of being a Mars Vegas magician.  Zoidberg is his geeky assisant and Fry, Leela, Hermes, and Amy are the butt of all his magical pranks.

Flexo heard word of this and wants in on the action too.  Then he becomes a solo act.  Bender and Zoidberg's magic act is a hit until Flexo's act appears on a reality show and becomes more popular.  Down and out, Fry and Leela take Bender and Zoidberg to see an aging magician that helps Bender pull of an epic magic trick and oust Flexo out of the water.


You know, they never did a magician plot before on the show.  In Jurassic Bark, Bender was only one for short time.

An idea I've been playing around with since it came up in General Disscussion:

IGNERANCE IS BLISS

Mom is all set up to announce a new sector of Momcorp that she stands to gain a lot of money from: A delivery service, much like Planet Express. Her three sons are in charge of the broadcast, only Igner accidentally leaves the camera rolling and exposes Mom's true demeanor to the world. As stocks in Momcorp plummet, Mom finally loses it and kicks Igner out. With nowhere else to turn, he shows up on the Planet Express doorstep, and the professor decides to take him in, due to his own rage over Mom's recent competition. But, of course, Igner being Igner makes a slew of screw-ups and the collateral damage of his addition to the PE Crew winds up causing the stock to drop even LOWER than Mom's new delivery company. The professor realises that Igner is a liability and that he no longer has the upper hand he thought he did, and so tries to get Mom to reconcile with her son. She is reluctant, though agrees to take Igner back off her hands IF the professor can somehow undo the damage that Igner did to Mom's reputation. The professor complies, and the situation is resolved by the Professor making an aggressive, foul-mouthed robot in Mom's image and then setting it loose in the streets; where the real Mom has set up a press conference nearby to announce that the original broadcast was a hoax, and that it was in fact the robot posing as her all along. The public buys her alibi, and the status quo is restored, albeit with the obvious exception: Mom's delivery corp is now booming. As the rest of the PE Crew question why the professor helped her, he assures them that it is a blessing, and we close out on the image of Igner screwing up the first of many Momcorp deliveries, the same way he did with Planet Express.

Obviously, the middle part of the story would just be the pure hilarity of Igner interacting with the professor and the rest of the PE crew, but I always believe it's most important to work out the beginning and end of a story first... Thoughts? Should I actually get off my lazy ass and write this sometime?!
