Hello all! I've thought about this for a while, but never bothered getting around to it, but here it is! My art and fiction thread! Note that I won't be uploading things constantly, as there is a thing called life out there, and I have to live in it as all people do. But I will get some stuff posted as much as I can. Do enjoy it though while it's there!
These I made last year, but I never got around to posting them. I did cheat a bit, and traced the original images onto the paper with grey lead pencil, but the main project behind them all was working on my shading/toning skills, which my art teacher was very impressed at. This is the first project I worked on: Master Chief from Halo.Stage 1:Stage 2:That one was probably my favorite and most time-consuming project. It took longer than anticipated but it was enjoyable and the result looks incredible. Then the next project: The Arbiter from Halo.Sorry for bad qualityThis was was a little more difficult because, as I said, I traced them before shading/toning them, but this particular image wasn't great quality when it printed out, so it was difficult to trace the pixely lines exactly. But I think the end result is quite cool. And finally: Lee from The Walking Dead (The game).I didn't tone him in because it looked really weird, what with the already existing lines and everything on his clothes etc. so I just let him look like that, but he still looks awesome. And while I'm at it, we also did a perspective thing at one stage, in which we had to draw a hallway with corridors leading off etc. Nothing too special, but I think it's post-able: And considering I'm a Lego collector/builder, why not this as well. I made this for Christmas last year from scratch, and had it hung up on our front door. It wasn't easy, mind you; Will have something else up soon hopefully. Hope you enjoyed!

Why thank you! It took many sessions to finish. Anyway, as I was saying I had something else to upload shortly. Well now I do! Any Yogscast fans out there? The most popular channel on YouTube? If you don't, I suggest you give them a gander. They're pretty epic. http://www.yogscast.com/http://www.youtube.com/user/BlueXephosAnyway, they have a series called the Shadow of Israphel which is a Minecraft adventure that they're going through. Some of you will know what I'm talking about, but basically, in short, it's quite an epic series, and I took the pleasure of writing fan-fiction based on that storyline. I already have their permission to do so, as long as it isn't the official thing, as they are planning on doing a story-version of SoI as well. Well, I'm already 6 chapters through with 35 pages and 21,296 words, and so far I think it's pretty good. I've uploaded what I have so far of it so you can read it when you have time below. But do bear in mind that it is not finished yet and many changes are yet to be made, but you can still give me some feedback and advice on what you think about it. Anyway, the link to it is below. I hope you guys enjoy it! I've 'translated' it into a story version as best I can, so until the major editing is done, I hope it's ok. Anyway, enough babble. Here it is! http://www.mediafire.com/view/es2xhl6odg1aes4/The_Shadow_of_Israphel.pdfDo enjoy!

What, I'm boring all of the sudden? Well this'll perk your eyes up. I've started a new project recently, and, well, it's kinda hard to explain, so I'll just post the image. I basically took my favorite number, 54, and intertwined the 4 and the 5 around each other, to make it look kinda like an illusion. So far, it looks like it's worked. However I lately realized that the number is not in the center, which annoyed me a bit. But I'm thinking of tracing it onto the center of a fresh page so it's not cramped up the top. I might also move it to the left a little. But I think it's looking to how I planned it, so that's good. Once I fix up the size etc. I'm thinking of going over it in felt tip pen, and then coloring both numbers different colors. But others are saying I should leave it B&W and just tone it. I'm thinking of photocopying the image and doing both on separate copies, but I'm not sure. Opinions, anyone?

Aww, that's very flattering. Thank you! Well, I suppose before I officially leave for however long I can spare a few minutes to show you the rest of my project's progress... If you insist... It isn't finished yet. Still deciding on whether to do the B&W copy. But it should be finally done by next week, which I will post a final image. FYI, no, I am not returning. Not yet. I'm just finishing what I started and then I'll be out the door. OK? Anyway, here's what I got done on Tuesday: Finally started coloring it in. As you can see it's already starting to take shape. I also repositioned it into the center and made some other minor final changes before coloring it in. I decided to do it in pencil, too. Fine liner/felt-tip pen bled on the paper, so I just left it and went with pencil coloring rather than texta, as I had originally planned. As you can see I also toned it to give it a greater 3D effect. So I got the 4 done on Tuesday and hoped to get the 5 done today, but I still have only two sections to finish before completion. This part I worked on today, and I'm rather impressed with it so far. I can't wait to see the contrast it'll have when it's done: I had a bit of a hand from my teacher with doing the smooth blend in the tones on the curves of the 5, but I like it. Will go over certain spots again next week and neaten it up a bit more. But I like it. I'm really enjoying the project and it's really looking great. Well, that's all folks. I'll be here next week... Probably only once more, just to post the final result. Other than that, stay tuned and classy! ;D

Good to see you leaving. Well, nice shading, but I think diagonal part of your 4 needs little more 3D.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It did look a little weird. I think it's a bit too late now though. Once more, to all of you, I'm not returning officially. I'm just posting the rest of this project's progress and then I will be going. OK? Just putting it out there. I feel that I better finish what I started to keep peeps entertained for a little while longer. But I will not be posting anywhere other than here. Kapiche? Good.

Well, as I promised last week, I'm here again to finish off showing you this project. Which I finally finished! Lookie lookie! After about.. 8 periods? I finally finished coloring it in. I then went over the lines in 2B pencil to make them darker and stand out a little more, but I think it's quite good! Quite good indeed. So yes, it's finally finished. Sorta... It somehow got folded from last Friday to now (nobody folded it, afaik, it must have just folded in the folio somehow), so my teacher suggested that I iron it next lesson to get rid of it. I'm going to have his help though, cause I don't want to ruin all that work and effort I put into it by burning it or anything. But anyway, this will be the last you'll be seeing of me... for now. So thanks for all your feedback guys and have a good one! I'll be seeing you in perhaps two years, after I get my school stuff sorted out. Other than that, so long, and thanks for all the fish!

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Sorry that's a bit delayed - I kinda forgot about this thread. Derp. :S So anyway, I've been doing various song covers on GarageBand as of late. I've started working on the instrumental version of this song just for a bit of fun, but I haven't yet finished it. Next I did an orchestral cover of PPK's Resurrection which isn't so bad, even if I say so myself. And currently I'm working on a completely different version of this song, which instead of being acoustic, it'll be all piano. So far it's pretty darn awesome - I'm surprised I've even managed to replicate the entire song manually into a piano version; and it still sounds just as fantastic. The PPK cover I haven't uploaded anywhere yet for public listening, but I'll link them all when I get a chance so you can hear them. :3

Ladies and gentle-bots, I bring you the revolutionized Meerkat Art & etc! Recently I've been whipping up some miscellaneous artwork - some for my YouTube channel and others just for the fun of it, and I figured I should get back on here and publish them for interest's sake! Do enjoy!
So as I had decided to revive my YouTube channel in the style of gaming, I figured it'd need some general renovations (particularly my profile picture... I'd just been using a Bender avatar I ninja'd from this forum for a while hahaha, so I thought it was time for an upgrade). So one night I sat down and started playing around with some ideas. This was my first draft: My idea was to base the design off of the N64 Logo, so I used the logo itself as a template by drawing rough lines around the edges that formed an oddly irregular cube which was difficult to work with (that wasn't my mistake - the 'cube' the N64 logo was in was designed that way intentionally, so I had to make some awkward adjustments to make my design work). So after a lot of playing around with the original draft, I then looked online for some decent image editors (rather than just using Paint...) and discovered GIMP, which I used to turn my draft into this final product: And I must say I'm rather pleased with it. I admit it does look slightly irregular on the right-hand side, where the main stalk for the '4' is, but other than that I'm happy with how it turned out, and I'm now using it as my official channel logo.
My next work of interest was Cortana from Halo 3. It was difficult to find a sufficient image to work with, but I decided to use the one from the final scene in Halo 3 where they escape the Ring (spoilers). Final result: It had been a good while since I'd last done one of these, so with that considered I'm pleased with how this also turned out. (*I should note that I photocopied the image in order to purify the paper, so this one I'm showing you isn't the original - as a result it may look a little odd but other than that it still works)
And finally, my most recent artwork (which is still in-progress) is massive - 2x larger than what I normally work with, and the amount of effort that's gone into it so far is enormous and I'm nowhere near finished. Should I tell you or leave it a surprise?.. Oh, hell, you're gonna see it anyway haha. It's Destiny's 'The Taken King' cover art, re-designed of course in my art style: As I mentioned it's still a work-in-progress, but it's definitely taking shape and I'm looking forward to finishing it eventually.
Well that's all for now! Let me know what you think, what you like/don't like and whatnot. I'm open to constructive feedback so see if you can point out little mistakes that I can't and let me know! Also, for those who are curious this is my YouTube gaming channel. If you're interested have a browse around and check it out - there'll be more stuff happening in the future!

I remember the irc convo when you were figuring out the cube, and we inspired Flamekiller to model it (then squish it) in Solidworks Your latest WIP is very cool. It really conveys a sense of energy and motion.
