Everyone panic, I have an art thread and I'm not afraid to use it!

Anyway, so welcome to my art thread. My name is Rebecca, I'm a 14 year old from England, though I prefer to go by the name of Lyra. I've been stalking the PEEL forums for a couple of years, but only recently decided to create an account. You might have seen me around smile

I do draw quite a lot of Futurama, although a lot of it is on paper, and never gets to be digitally edited, which is a shame frown But I would like to share what I have drawn on the computer c:

Programs and Software:
   PaintTool SAI.
   Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch.
   Sometimes some Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Just a quick drawing of me to start off with. This is typically how I will draw myself, with my favourite yellow hoodie.

Admittedly I love Mom's Sons more than I should, but I think they're cuties, m'kay? Do you have a Tumblr account? Then you may have come across some of my drawings of these guys if you track Futurama.

We've all seen "A Fishful Of Dollars" so we should know the reference image for this drawing. It was however drawn on paper first, as seen in this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHA1f5x6WNw

Keeping with the Mom's Sons theme I recently draw Waltazar from Bender's Game. He only appears like this for a few seconds, and I thought he looked pretty cool.

Last one, I swear. Star-gazing Larry. This was drawn before the new year if I remember correctly.

I've also done a lot of requests and art trades on DeviantArt with other Futurama fans.

That's all I feel worthy enough to put up right now smile I'm hoping I'll get to draw more of Futurama now that I've created a thread. It might make me a bit more active in the fanart zone.

And of course when I'm not drawing Futurama, I draw plenty of my own OC's. Most are felines.

And that's all smile Don't want to make this too long.

Constructive criticism is welcome, and is also helpful ^^ Thank you!

Wow, that Leela/Kif offspring is freaky deaky! eek

You did a fantastic job on Mom's sons! So is your style typically to elongate the characters?

Haha, thanks guys ^^

I'm not sure futurefreak. I don't really mean to, but I think when I draw in the Futurama style the character anatomy just sort of melds with what I know about my own style of humans. So it's just kind of both, but I try not to.

Personally I find drawing Bender quite hard, but I had a go at drawing baby Bender from "Lethal Inspection." c:

The following drawing is old, and the lighting is all wrong, but I thought I'd add it on. I'd really love to draw an improved version. A long time ago there was a Tumblr headcanon that Larry was a gamer.

Welcome to the forums!

A lot of these are really awesome, love the shading.

Star-gazing Larry and Baby Bender are fantastic, I was trying to see if you'd included the lyra constellation in the starfield, but couldn't find it.

What did you base your username (lyra) on? Constellation, musical instrument or fictional pony? (All are cool. smile )

Look forward to seeing more of your work!

hahaha, I was thinking the same thing smile  Lyra is probably my fave constellation, for the double-double (Epsilon Lyrae) and of course the *magnificent* Ring Nebula, M57.

And your drawing of Mom's sons is specially cool, Lyra.

Wow, your art is awesome, Lyra!

I don't think I've come across drawings of Mom's sons, so it's really cool to see what you've made. I especially love the one of Larry star-gazing  smile

My name was based on the star constellation. I've been calling myself Lyra405 since 2006. Then it became Gidsey, then Dreamcatcher, and now I'm a mixture of the three depending on the website.

As for MLP:FiM I never really got into it. I did hear about Lyra Heartstrings. It's a good show, but the size of the fandom kind of put me off.

Thank you so much everyone ;u;

I'm having a lot of internet trouble. Recently the internet upstairs (My internet) sparked out. The modem now has to be downstairs for my dad to do his work, so I will be mostly inactive until I get new internet.

This is MissFuturama's character Alice Fry, who I drew for her birthday this year c: I'm a big fan of her art.

Nice job, Lyra!  I love Ms. Futurama's art, too.  I've had Alice or Julie as the background on my laptop now for over a year, when I used to change it every few weeks.

Thank you everyone ^.^

I'm at school, so I have a temporary source of internet for when I'm not at home.

I don't know how everyone feels about fan characters here, but I have quite a lot of them. The character below is my main Futurama fan character. Trouble is, when I started writing things down (Fanfiction, etc.) I never actually gave her a name. She just sort of became the other Rebecca. She's actually quite special to me, haha c: The drawing itself is fairly old though. I need the time to draw something new.

(Large image. Sorry, I'd make it smaller if i could but the tools I have for doing this at school are very restricted)

And also a Bender's Game theme o3o (Kind of goes with the other one of Walt)

I planned on drawing something else, but when I started drawing, I found out I actually had no references, so I drew this instead. Enjoy c:

EDIT: I also found the pencil drawing of Walt, Larry and Igner.

I use a program called Paint Tool SAI, and I draw with a Wacom Bamboo Pen And Touch tablet.

Well everyone uses different things c: I prefer SAI because I like the brushes and the stabilizer tool.

No, it's not free. It costs 42 to buy online.

The only free art program I know is called GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program).

I think the trial lasts for a month or so, then you can't use it anymore. Or it just no longer lets you save your work.
