Howdy everyone:) There has been a lot of work (IRL, not art wise), so there was no time for new cartoons lately. But I finally managed to get another one (though only a small, quick one) done:

Not really an update, but one thing I wanted to bang my head on the table for thinking of it just now: I was never too happy with the ruined city background in this cartoon. It was okay, fulfilled it's purpose, but...welll, that's about it. Today, after having completed that cartoon days ago, I suddenly realized what sci fi classic I could have used as bakcground: The Dune Harkonnen castle as designed by H.R. Giger. Well...too late to change it now, I just wanted to share that thought how that cartoon could have been....

Brilliant. Really like how the second panel in particular turned out.

Hein, I cannot fathom how you find the patience for such an exquisite level of detail in your strips. It must take forever. I applaud you.

Thanks:) Funny you mention it: Getting a proper pose for Leela climbing down the ladder did in fact require more layout time than many other details. (Of couse we all know: As soon as a Lady's appearance is involved, it will ALWAYS take a lot of time ) Hein, I cannot fathom how you find the patience for such an exquisite level of detail in your strips. It must take forever. I applaud you.
Thanks Well..the detail level is rather a routine thing..right now, I manage to get them done rather quickly. All the gears and gadgets on the ship in the first picture are phenomenal...
Thanks:) As stated before: Those little details are rather a routine thing (that can be drawn without much layout work, or having to think too much about them), to add some variety to the pic (and to show off a bit, which I openly admit ) Wow, amazing strip! So much detail, well done!
Thanks:) Nice to see you back on the forum, btw...

Howdy:) A little piece of concept art for a future, longer comic (the same comic for which I did the "Amazonian Kids" concept piece). This time: A space whaling ship.

* SGB begins to grow bored with IH's fascinating and artistic details. Another great piece of art involving Futurama somehow. Really loving the turbo engines at the bottom! Wait, or are those machine guns? I really can't tell...

Nope, just engines. With the "naval vessel like spaceships", I will usually add rocket like engines (also inspired a bit by the Star Wars "Pod Racer" turbines). The ship is unarmed excect the obligatory harpoon. (It will in fact not be the only whaling ship in the comic, but be a part of a rather large whaling fleet. I will probably design 3-5 individual Space Whaling ships for a foreground appearance, and the background ships will be drawn "off the wrist". And before anyone asks: Yep, Space Whales will also be seen).

Another design for the same comic that will feature the Whaler, the Kid Amazonians and the two shown heavy troopers. This time: The return of the Feministas (about the way Tarantino probably would have designed them;) :

Besides practice, I'm absolutely positive that Inquisitor Hein was an alien/human hybrid who was raised by Earth people! IH has natural alien talents! (Along with special alien masturbating skills)
My parents always says practice makes perfect. But i always practice and they never turn out perfect lol And lol at the alien masturbating skills.
Thanks:) Well..practise is the key. Also, inspiration from other comics does help. Do not copy another artists style completely, but chose some elements. E.g. Akira Toryama (Dragonball) has a great way to draw folds in clothing with just a few lines...such style details can easily be "borrowed" from other artists without directly copying them.
Thanks I'll try to keep that in mind. Later i'll practice some more drawing. I can't upload them to this because I don't know how. (Since i'm a new to this site) Thanks for the advice.

Howdy:) Suffered from a -fortunately only slight- conjunctivits, but had to reduce my drawing time anyway. So, here is the last design for the comic already mentioned (that will see the reformed feministas, the heavy troopers, the whaler, etc..). This time: A re-education camp on planet Amazonia. Why someone built that camp seems to be obvious, but the question will rather be: WHO? (Also...the autogun features a symbol that has already been shown before...should anyone be able to find it in another picture in this thread, I will tell this person "Well done" )

So, no more designs for this week, but I did a "real" cartoon again. One of these "Single Image Cartoons" I started the thread with: Fry about to face a situation even HE considers embarrasing
