Greetings all!  First post here.  I just found you guys while searching for something else Bender-related, and I thought you would be interested in my current project.

For the last few months I've been working on a Bender kegerator to dispense my homebrewed beer at parties.  I just started a blog to document my progress.

He's actually come a lot further along than the blog is (I just created the blog today, so I'm updating as much as I can), but I figured some of you might like to follow along.  Here's a picture of what he currently looks like - the beer comes out the tip of the cigar.

I'm not going for a precise replica of Bender, but I wanted the proportions to at least be as close as I could get them.  I'm very happy with how he's come out so far.

Any comments, ideas or suggestions are of course very welcome!

Thanks,

-Joe

That's cool!

I've already seen a few life size Bender models on the internet but most of them don't look like the original at all but yours really does!

Wow, that's high praise coming from this board! :)  Thanks!

I just finished the post at the blog that brings us up to date, so if you're curious about how Bender came together, head over and check it out.

I like the idea of cups coming out of his arms.

Love it!  It's awesome!  There should be a Bender beer dispenser!  Even a Bender food dispenser would be great!

Is bender's door openable? Because if it is I bet it would be great for storing drinks.

No, his door will not open, quite unfortunately.  I wanted it to originally, but there's just not enough room in there.  If you opened his door now you'd get your feet covered in ice cubes and water :)

Wicked, I wouldn't have known what to do with the tap, but making into the smoking cigar is a brilliant idea.
Did this take you a long time?

I started in 08/09, so about 4 months of time, but that's only working a few hours a week.

Damn thats hella wicked!!

Like  Bender-1729 said there's alot of models being sold that dont look like the real thing and just look weird (Including official merchandise) but that looks spot on and a great idea as well.

Any plans to make his eyes/mouth light up? That would be the icing on what is already a tasty looking cake.
