I really like the shading and colouring of the dress, Demeter!

Thanks... tongue

Well, I didn't want to post the non-working image tags, nor correct them and repeat the images that were just a couple of posts back since my post was originally at the bottom of the page.  And borked the closing quote tag in the process smile

Ooh, I love the colouring job on the first one. Very nice around the face and such. Almost looks like she's made of porcelain.

I wish I could draw good cartoony eyes. Everyone seems to have a way that works for them but I have no idea what I'm doing.

Best advice is study real human eyes a lot, work out what shapes alter between person to person and EXAGGERATE! And probably spell correctly, idk if that's right.

Eyes tend to derive their character and definition from the surrounding features. Brows, bridge of the nose, upper cheek area. Focus on the surrounds and you'll find the eye will develop as an extension of these.

Imagine if the soul had a camera and that camera was a mirror.  Now imagine that you were looking out of a window, but it was raining outside.  If you looked inside each drop of rain, you would gather many images as it is a prism, and therefore rainbows can exist there.  In a way, eyes are like rainbows, so you have to represent them trichromatically.

Really?

I didn't think you had it in you to do some "adult-type" artwork.  You do know that you will have to "go the extra mile" if you want to compete with Freako's milder stuff?

@Ralph: I've done plenty of adult type artworks, I just never post them online. Mostly because I'm very picky/pedantic about my art, especially the naked bits. I'm also not going to compete with Freako. I prefer to collaborate. :P

But yeah. I'll let you guys find it.

I'm actually planning on trying to make 3D Futurama characters, and work at animating them. That, and some rougher frame-by-frame pieces again. I prefer the rough sketched out animations more than the final pieces usually.

Lemme guess, the other version was topless.

I really like that, Demeter. Love the eye, looks very expressive. The whole thing is well done and a great interpretation.

spira, you must be psychic!  Or you've been around PEEL for a while...

Not yet sure about the eye, but I definitely like the expression overall.  "Soulful", yeah, that's a good description.

I like the line work, it has a lot of vibrant energy. It helps bring the picture to life in ways that having an abundance of colours couldn't...
