Good News Everybody!

My life sized paper mache bender is almost done....

A Little Back Story:
I have wanted to build a life sized, metal, Bender for quite some time now.
Unfortunately my wife would not let me spend the time or money to do it.
After a little talk I convinced her to let me build one out of paper-mache!

Why paper mache you may ask?  Simple...Cost and ease of use.  You
can make almost anything out of paper mache, and lets not forget.
I built this entire Bender Bending Rodriguez, for less than 20 Dollars!

The pictures I am posting are at about 93% completetion.
Bender still needs his hands painted as well as foot cuff's
installed.  After everything is installed he will be able to stand
under his own power and will no longer need the stand I
slapped together for him.

I will HOPEFULLY be finishing this tonight as I am
going to the craft store anyhow to prepare for Paper-Mache
Nibblers!

Without any further delay, Kiss His Rough Paper Mached Ass!

That is awesome!  What did you use for the frame/skeleton/whatever the technical term is?

The "Skeletal Frame" was made using some posterboard and foam board.

His head was made by making a tube the right size from a piece of poster-
board, then blowing up a balloon inside it to make the domed top of his head.

I wish I would have taken more pictures during the building process.

I plan on making a few more "Bender's" based on what I learned
while putting this one together.  I will be taking a lot more pictures
during that.

Actually...I made 3 differnet hands for bender...1 Being his left hand, 2 is his right hand holding a cigar, 3 is a right hand holding a beer bottle that i will add the bender-brau label too

:)

Thank you for the compliments!

And Now as promised, some updated pics of Paper Mache Bender!
Cigar, Malt Liquor and Foot Cuff's! Bender can now stand under his own power.
Please note that his right hand is covered in Duct Tape, Had to make sure
the hot glue stuck to his hand and his bottle first, i'll be "re-paper-macheing"
over the hand part.

And last for your nerdy pleasure, the label for "Olde Fortran Malt Liquor."
In case you want to make your own Futurama Prop! Just print and glue!

Surprisingly, less then a week.  Most the time was wasted waiting for the
paper mache to dry, then waiting for paint to dry

I can't wait to see how the Robot Devil will come out. If you could make a paper mache golden fiddle to go along with it that would be cool...
