Ohh, I like it Maz.

It seems like everyone on here is talented with drawing, except moi.

I actually kinda love how all three of his eyes are glaring.

He just strikes me as the type to glare...

I can only draw if I don't do it for a long time. I don't know much about fancy techniques or anything, but I like to play around. If I get the time/think to do it. :p

That's only because you've never seen me draw anything. It's bad and I mean like, opening the ark of the covenant, bad.

We'd make a pair then! I can't even draw a line without it going wrong :(

I suppose I could show this slightly disappointing self-portrait in which I have misrepresented my nose, the light of my face (at least Freako got its curvature right in the group shot), among other things.

No, actually that hasn't occurred to me or anyone else before (but now to any1else it apparently has).

Hee, Maz-il.

Maybe it's subconsciously how you see yourself, and therefore how your self portrait turned out. Either way, I think it's great, but you might like to try this toothpaste..

I get it. I have bad teeth!

Well, thank you. It'd have to be a pretty buried subconscious thing, though, since I most certainly do not put the "grrr" in "swinger," baby.

Cool... was that with actual paint and actual brushes on an actual solid surface? I never can tell these days what with all the cheating tablet gimmickry.
I'm trying my hand at a painting at the moment (a real painting). Just need some better brushes for the detail work. What kind did you use?

Thank you, and yes it was.

Let's see...I used a white nylon shader, a gold nylon round "size 0," and a 1/4-inch camel hair wash. I hope that means something useful to you; good luck with your painting!

I'm tempted to paint an actual painting now. Just as soon as I clear of my drawing desk!

Nicely done, Tedward :)

Meh?
That's actually very good artwork, and you only don't like it because you're used to having that level of artistic ability, but to us who haven't been blessed with the imagination, skill, and sheer will, it is a masterpiece in our eyes.

Do I detect a wee bit of hostility in the cyber air?  If that was true...what difference is it to you FS?  First of all, you do not have to be an official member to be on site and appreciate the terrific artists, the love of futurama, the terrific artwork, and the snarkiness of its juvenalia.  Secondly, this is not the only site that apparently yours-alone artist was active on.  I remember her work when she was just barely a lovely young woman and yes, I remember the day I read the sad news, a little like hearing about buddy holly and john lennon.  Regardless of how long I have enjoyed her work and her; I could still genuinely miss her if it had only been a week.

Absolutely not.  I myself am a little inquisitive why you would have brought it up in the first place.  But you're right and no harm done.

Tedward: Your self portrait is very nice you've definitely got some talent.

I would suggest starting with an undertone color (Deep browns are the easiest for beginners, I prefer using blue) next time and painting it in layers. Always work dark to light with Opaque paints like acrylic or oils. Adding small amounts of reds and blues to your skin tone will make it look more alive and less like stone.

You seem to have a very good sense of shape and form. I think you need to work on reflective lighting... colors picking up colors that are near them. I think priming the canvas a really dark color will help you work up in layers.

@ Boo rad and Future Shock: Wow John Lennon? Really? I had no idea complete strangers loved my art so much. Maybe I should hang around more often... ^^

We don't; we were paid by those who do so you might consider it.  Too embarrassed to admit it, I guess.  I have always loved your work as much as we both loved Futurama and the idea of Fry+Leela but to fit in really with Holly, Hendrix, Janis & Lennon, you have to die.  I'm afraid it's not worth it unless you go for the candle burning on both ends and oh, what a lovely light.  I loved her too.
