Yes and no. The works do seem less encumbered by distractions without the pictures, but it's a matter of personal taste I should think. The illustrated versions are available from www.futurama-madhouse.com.ar and slurmed.com as well as somewhere in the depths of this here folder.

If anyone cares, try these depths:
Blame it on the Brain.
A River with Current.
The Real Decoy.
The Hero of Bot-any.
The Morning.

Thses are the stories penned by our own Coldangel (that I could find in 5 minutes or less).
He also had a hand in a number of stories written by others, but you'll need to find them for yourselves.

Congratulations on FINALLY getting published, Coldy! I raise my glass to you.

Something rather interesting just happened to me. On the way back from dinner I noticed a shop on campus was selling posters. I browsed through them looking for anything interesting and came upon the following. Know anything about this oh Cold one?

Can you give me the contact details?

Yeah, well I'm not supposed to make any money from it, and neither are they - the characters belong to Matt Groening and David X Cohen.

Frisco - Let 'em know that if they don't cease and desist they'll be paid a visit by an ex-wrestler badass by the name of Ralph Snart.

Not sure how much attention they'll pay to a random guy coming up and threatening them. Especially if they are just the guys that work their. I'll see if I can find a company name or something so you can yell at them. They'd probably take the threat better from the actual artist.

Edit: I checked and the stand is gone. They'll be back though because I've see them around a few times before. Next time they're here I'll get you names Coldy.

Not that it is any consolation, but at least they have good taste.  :hmpf:

Books - that person isn't me, just happens to share my name. At this point the novel is still only available to order by paypal from the publisher's website, but it'll be in other places after the July publication date.

http://174.132.188.188/~caco123/product.php?id_product=178

Bear - It's an action/thriller. And I'm as far from being rich as it's possible to be.

Here's the synopsis:

The Cold War is long past, leaving only sinister reminders throughout Russia, thermonuclear sentinels standing in silent vigil, slowly rusting away.

The world has moved forward into different conflicts, different permutations of barbarism, it is a time when allegiances ebb and flow like the wind, and the fate of millions teeters on a knife edge.

But for some the past can never be forgotten.

In a time when the once-mighty Soviet Union is little more than a memory, a new force has emerged from the carcass of Russia to dredge the ghosts of the past and visit terror upon a new generation.

Armed with unimaginable weapons and driven toward an impossible goal, the New Revolution's diabolical vendetta could pull the world into the last great war.

Now, a hastily-assembled team of ill-equipped and undisciplined mercenaries must be sent against the rising threat. Led by the enigmatic Cale Black, they are the worst that humanity has to offer but they may be humanity's last hope.

Under the weight of history, and with the fate of mankind itself in the balance, Cale Black must lead his rag-tag team of cut-throats against an insurmountable enemy; battle fearsome machines built for war, and uncover a traitor that could be any one of them.

But danger lurks on the icy wastes of Siberia and on the streets of Moscow; the uncertain loyalties of a beautiful terrorist woman and the fanatical aspirations of an old Soviet Colonel may spell doom for Black and his team.

And if they fail, World War 3 begins.

Well, you know where I stand, Joel.  I'd take you as a member over half of the regular posters.  You have an awesome amount of talent and contribute to the site.  It's a lot better with you than without you.

Just don't let the Ben's and Birthday Clowns's of the board get under your skin.

Glad to see you posting again.

So, have the fires been anywhere near you?  I'm ignorant about Australia - but I do know you guys have a lot of deserts and nasty insects down there (the Funnel Web spider - it's an arachnid - is one of your fauna that gives me nightmares).

The fires weren't near me this year. Had some big ones at my doorstep a few years back though.

Thanks upside, that means a lot - at this point it's only available by ordering online. It's probably going to be an uphill battle to get it into physical stores.

Right now this is the only way:

The pre-order page for my novel, Silhouettes, has been down for a while on account of Cacoethes Publishing fart-arsing around with their new website.

The good news is that it's back up:
http://174.132.188.188/~caco123/product.php?id_product=178

The bad news is that the release may possibly be pushed back by a few months due to the global failure of Capitalism. When will folk learn that the Soviets were right?

I will be doing that, when it's actually released. It hasn't been yet, so a launch or signing would be somewhat premature. In the meantime I try to advertise everywhere I think there might be people interested. It's difficult for first-time authors to gain interest since readers tend to stick with the writers they know.

What was your point? Were you trying to be snide?

Seemed like you were having a stab about my novel being small-scale. Which it is - the publishing company is a small independent and it's unlikely the enterprise will earn me much mulah or acclaim. However it's a feather in my cap because now when I approach bigger companies with my next book I can say that I'm a published author. It looks good on paper.
