ok, im new or whatever. btw, im a long time thread reader, first time poster, so i basically know all of you. now, i thought of this at the bus stop while waiting for a taxi. a futurama mod. ok, weve all thought of that, but what i mean is more like a single map "virtual new new york". you can walk around, go into shops and see stuff, and go underground where theres mutants. the thing that would make this cool is detail and size. tiny little jokes and eggs everywhere. Big pink at 7/11, the place next to p.e has a slurm billboard, frys apartment has a minature fruit salad tree, etc. this is a group project, as the map would be so large and so detailed, it would take you an age to see every little egg. i would do it, but im uh, busy.   big grin

You're a madman!  Just kidding.  I've actualy tried to do a couple of VRML models of the the PE Ship and the PE building, but I have miserably failed each time.

Welcome to PEEL.  I'm sure you'll be getting an official greeting from the Space Pope in a little while.

Welcome to PEEL Oni! I guess you know who the Space Pope is...

This looks like a very hard job. I mean the PE office would have been ok, but the whole city! gosh...

Welcome!   big grin
Your plan is crazy!   big grin
Nah, only joking, but it does seem slightly far fetched. Interesting to see though.  smile

Even a map of the PE building and/or ship in CS would be really cool. Half-life has great map making tools but i haven't the patience to do it myself

i remember when i tried to do a 3 dimentional model of a rotating Leela in flash, that was months and months ago, and it's not finished, and i've got bored of it

Hmmm... maybe if they do a Futurama videogame, we'll see something like it.

i had that idea too. and i am from the modding scene.
but what game you wanna use? the only game i know that gives you the opportunity to discover a whole city is gta3, and it's not released for pc yet. plus this will be an awful lot of work.

my idea was something like a space trading game with the ship, maybe we could use the freelancer-engine once it's released...
