I like to do crummy cartoons when I travel. It kind of passes the time spent waiting at airports. Here were some Lord of the Rings I did a couple of years ago.  I DREAM of being able to color pictures as well as some of you do.

Here's a drawing I've done specifically for a young bird on devArt to do colours on. I'll post her finished product when she's finished. It'll be good, 'cause she's a damn sight better at colouring than I am.

Also, what if J. J. Abrams produced Futurama?

Although we've been blessed to have new artists come to the Futurama family since I joined in 2005 (greats like Archonix, Demeter, Coldangel to name a few), I was hoping that the release/escape of the BBS DVD would bring FemJesse and TheVoices back for a couple more pics.

I guess both have moved on.  Despite losing them, I do want the people who continue to contribute and the new fans we've picked up know that I appreciate them.

Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

And there's no April Fool's crap in any of that.

They were before my time but they had some fantastic art that really inspires me.   I hope they join back in again since they had some amazing works out there.  But I agree with you, too, that I love the influences that other artists like Archonix, Demeter and ColdAngel have brought in.   Being a newbie myself they are what we new kids on the block look up to (if I could draw like Archonix, Demeter or Cold Angel I would be a very happy camper!)  . Believe me, I see their art and hope my own stuff will measure up to the great stuff they can do...
The tradition lives on with fan artists like this.  They inspire newbies like me.

I've never been in contact with The Voices but have shared a few e-mails with FJ.  Over the past year she's let her e-mail addy become unused and she posts very irreguarly on her DeviantArt account.  Real life and getting started making a name and life for yourself when you're in your early 20's will do that to people.  I did have to feel for her when she posted on her DeviantArt account last month that her beloved pet cat had to be put down after being with her for 16 years.

I do wish her and TheVoices a great life and hope the future is bright for both, but it would be nice to see a 'hello' - they wouldn't have to do any art - just to hear from them again.

But the world continues to spin, one thing that doesn't change is change, so if we've lost them, good luck but I still want our new contribitors to know that they are appreciated.

Anything from the hands of Coldy is always good to see.

Coldy is a great example of somebody who put his own design on the Groening characters and ended up with something superior to the original idea.

I know the catcalls and caterwalling would be deafening, but it would be nice to see an episode with the characters based on Coldy's artistic design.

A man can dream, can't he?

Hey, I am with you there on that!   My own vision of how the Futurama characters look comes closer to what Coldy draws.  I could really see his stuff looking good as animation.

The second one's by this awesome artist.

I've started a collection of Futurama art by other artists on dA if anyone's ever bored but not quite bored enough to run their own search.  I'm sure most of you have already seen most of the pictures in there, though, if you didn't draw them yourselves.

Whoa, I've never seen the second pic, Spacey.  It looks great - Zapp looks a bit like a cross between the old George of the Jungle and Lincoln Sternn from Heavy Metal.  The Professor looks like Dr. Scratch 'n Sniff from the Animaniacs.  Fry looks like a complete slacker, but is in too good physical shape for Fry (he has quite a gut on him, the pic doesn't have that).  The body pose for Leela works, but something about her face just doesn't jive.  Granted trying to draw a cyclops is at best, very difficult.

Where did you find that pic?  I'm amazed a fan who would do such art wouldn't be well known.

But then there's also Furronika's Futurama art, something that wouldn't be placed on a "family board".  His stuff is absolutely unreal - but in a good way.  He is another artist that is impossible to get in direct contact with.

Furronika's style makes Leela a tad too muscular. No that that's bad, but at times her head can begin to look too small for her shoulders.

SpaceCoyote's Leela looks fantastic, though.

Xanfor, you surprise me.  You actually know about Furronika and his Futurama art.

There's more of his art of Leela floating out and about.  The pieces that people have seen have been blindly submitted to TTPs, so there is no way to contact him.

Yes, his style does make Leela muscular, but his style takes into account almost every aspect of anatomy, positioning, shadowing and shading.

I've seen the Space Coyote Futurama image (and I worship her for getting that opportunity to illustrate Bongo comics... hope there is a Futurama one down the road that she gets to illustrate).  I have not seen the latter one with the lion artist in the head jar- cool, too.  I agee with RS's comments but I KNOW I could not draw better than this so I am still in awe.  I could never scratch the surface of what this amazing artist has done!

It is just mind blowing what people have done to create Futurama characters in different styles!

Your work is as great as ever, oh great Cold-one.

After some searching, I finally found the image I wanted. Strictly speaking, it isn't anime, but it's still a darn fine piece of work:

Sadly, I was unable to determine who's responsible the maker of this artwork.

One I rediscovered whilst searching:

And another by SpaceCoyote:

One little nitpick: Zoidberg has 4 tentacles, not 6...

Coldy, you have an insane amount of talent. I've never been into the anime-style, but I cannot deny the skills.

Which can pay the bills, by the way. Maybe even have enough leftover for a nice dinner at Elzar's.  :)
