Windows Vista is the federations only needed weapon to fight the Borg. They assimilate that and they're done.

That's how they destroyed a Korg Box - Info uploaded a copy of Windows 95 into the mainframe, the Korg's resources were reduced to 0.02% after installation.

But yeah, Vista Sucks and Blows at the same time.

Ive never actually had problems with it yet, but my friends have some awesome horror stories.

Its a bit annoying for certain things but usually takes care of its shit a bit better than XP did.

I like how Pirk trys to get the entire fleet to fire at the same coordinates and ends up destroying the Intrepid-class.

Although I know that this is Arch's Art Thread, I think that he'll forgive us for taking a short detour into Star Wreck as he is a fan also.  Plus, when I ordered the DVD from Samuli (Pirk) and Company, I kept the American copy and mailed the PAL-encoded copy to Arch.  He's enjoyed it as much as I've enjoyed my copy.

So if anybody wants to do a good deed, buy a copy of the DVD from the Star Wreck store.  Not only does it look and sound great on a Home Entertainment Center, buying from Samuli gives him funding for his next epic, Iron Sky

"In 1945 the Nazi's fled to the moon, in 2018, they're coming back!"  A great trailer can be found on the site:

Right, so this was going to be an entry in a competition, however it seems my computer decided to eat the work file, and I didn't have any backups of it, so all that's left is this sketch... twas very pretty. I'm trying to decide if I should try and rebuild it. I can think of a few changes I'd make if I did.

You can probably figure out the symbolism.   :D

ETA: fyi Munda and Morris are meant to be twin earth gods of some sort. The competition theme was "deities"... I guess.

this is what the computer decided to turn it into...

It's Leela in 284KB (according to my computer)

Oh, I am always terrible at those "find the hidden objects" drawings.  It looks like Leela on Leela.

Exellent work as always. Shame about the computer. I've had that kind of thing happen more times than I can remember. The screwed up version does look pretty cool though.

Anyway it's Morris as a rock with Munda as a tree and Leela sitting on top of Morris's head.

Oops, I was wrong. I saw an embracing arm in the bottom right and it made me think of what Leela always wanted when she was growing up. And despite being wrong I still like the way I see this sketch, cause it's just great.

It is now part of my desktop pictures.

Yeah? Coo... more reasons to actually finish it.  :laff: I've been too nervy to make a fresh start on it after the computer ate it and now I have a job interview tomorrow. Perhaps I'll do it to relax over the weekend.  :)

You betcha! I'd also pay to get some art done for a few scenes in my fic S.I.A.S.L.

They'd look great on the wall next to these, which I finally found a retailer that had them in stock.  :D

Took the Leela one down as a precautionary measure a while ago though, didn't want to freak out the girlfriend.  :p

I like the sketch you lost, Archonix.  The computer's interpretation of it was interesting in an abstract, white noise sorta way too.  Hope you try again.

Where'd the BWABB poster come from? Is it the one FOX was offering on that insert with the DVD?

That one looks like a promotional poster. The litho offered in the DVD is smaller and doesn't have quite the same titling.

I have to say we lucked out on both posters.  The man married to the woman who cuts Kelly's hair owns a large Flea Market in Denver.  It's good work - it's open on Sat and Sun from 9a-9p and he gets all kinds of neat shit.

So Beverly, my friend from work who cuts Kelly's hair fell in love with my 1967 Mustang Convertible.  It was 85% restored - new blueprinted engine, new suspension, bodywork done and painted by one of the painters who works for NASCAR.  It was also a project I haven't worked on in years, so I gave it to Beverly for being a friend I have learned to depand on in keeping Kelly company and being there for when Kelly needs a woman to talk to.

So now her husband (Brett) keeps an eye out for stuff he knows we'll like.  He's also a Futurama and Sci-Fi fan - just last week he gave me a kit of the Constitution Refit Enterprise, complete with lighting kit.  I'll put it together on one of those below-zero days we have this winter.

Don't laugh - he does work more than those two days a week but he's making some serious money.  He rents shops, stalls and tables out.  There's a leather shop in that flea market that has the absolute finest leather jackets I've ever seen and they're a good half the price of the same stuff sold in large department stores.

There's also a comic shop there, and they sell anything you can imagine.  That's where Brett gets the posters.  Brett has some sort of deal with the shop owner to let him look over the merchadise prior to the doors opening.  That's how we got the 3 Bender Robots (one sent to VF during her last hospitization), the Slurm playing cards and the posters.  Everytime Beverly comes over to cut Kelly's hair and eat take-out Chinese food, she always brings some sort of Sci-Fi geek gift.

Cool...

Say, is that the ol' smoothie refit from AMT/ERTL? Those things are worth a few bob these days. Rare as hens teeth...

Yep, that's the kit.  It's over 15 years old - released when ST VI hit the movie screens.

Brett got it for the price of allowing the guy at the comic store to have an air conditioner installed.  Brett actually got two models - the 1701-D with LED light kit and the Constitution Refit 1701-A with LED light kit.

Like I said, this winter when snow is on the ground and the temps are below zero, I'll be in heated comfort, painting and assembling my ship.

Oh wow... I had an old smoothie once, for a stupidly small sum but it got damaged before I realised I could sell it on ebay for a fortune. It's not the most accurate model (the Polar Lights E-A is far, far superior - and bigger too!) but it's got that nostalgia charm to it.

That is amazing, all hail emperor FRY!

There should be warnings against packing such large quantities of win into confined areas (image, section of text). Serious over-stimulation of the "That's the greatest thing I've ever seen" section of the brain could (and does) result.

Hopefully this Fry's reign will be longer than our universe A versions previous attempt to rule.
