I guess I sort of hinted at this story a few months ago, but now, many long nights and four complete plot overhauls later I think I'm turning out something decent. Constructive criticism is appreciated.         :)

Hahaha! Awesome. I love Duran Duran.

Also, 'the breakfast planet' cracked me up.
Nice references to exotic physics.

I spilled water all over my keyboard when you said 'Ice-Ten will make regular water explode'. Although it would have been very slightly funnier if Fry had said 'Will it irreversibly freeze other water?'

It makes the reference a bit clearer...   ;)

Ah, very good point. Also, for further clarification, when I said 'more's on the way,' I was referring to the way from my head to my hands. And apologies about your keyboard.

@ Robo D, SonicPanther and FuturamaPac: Glad you're enjoying it so far, hopefully I won't disappoint when I actually get to the plot of the story.

@ Coldangel, Xanfor, and JustNibblin': Not to get emotional, but being a big fan of you guys' work, your comments really mean a lot to me. Thanks.

:flirt: Indeed (she's mine, Xanfor, step off). But yes, I guess I could be called a perfectionist. If I'm not doing my best, why do it at all?

Well, thanks to everyone, hopefully the next part will be up tomorrow at the latest.

I know how it is with real life, but once you start you gotta finish, right?  At least tell us you know what the finish is...

Thanks, and yes, I know how it ends. Vaguely, however I don't want to have too specific a plan until I write more, so I don't end up having a story that's incompatible with its ending and whatnot.

it says in this Tikipedia article that both of you consumed what is known as the Cocktail of Life, a drink native to Copenhagos h/2pi created from melting a sandslug with ice-ten. I just loved the Schrodingers Cat reference.

But there better be a 1:4:2 dimensioned object in this story somewhere.

I think Schrodinger would love his cat making an appearance in this fanfic.  Then again, maybe he would hate it.  Actually, it probably would be a linear combination of both states.   ;)

Nice update Sine. It still left me guessing what'll happen next. Too bad about college. But to me, you could just skip studying some nights and write instead, or do double ups with study for so long and then writing or vice versa. Good luck with both the story and college. What do you want to major in anyways?

My own feelings on the joke were quite superpositioned when I wrote it, as I was afraid it would be too cliche, but it formed sort of a key storytelling element. I'm glad it was a hit.

You might want to invest in lidded beverage containers, a sippy cup perhaps. This may end expensively, for me, if I continue to hold myself liable.

Still guessing, huh? Who knows, I might manage to make it to the actual plot eventually. I'll still write at school, I assure you (damn the creative writing class needing instructor permission), just understand it won't be as much.

Unsurprisingly, I'm planning to be a physics major.

Physics is a nice thing to major in. Of course I myself would never be able to do that. If it involves difficult math, I count myself out. However, it's your choice, and so I claim you smarter than I in that department. Maybe you'll become a scientist that can actually do something more than hate what another scientist's opinion is about a subject.  ;)

As interesting as it may seem, I'd hesitate to call any of that proven science. I mean, it depends on a "pilot brain wave" which is only defined as something that carries qualia, which are very nebulous and immaterial themselves. Also, in my opinion, postmodernism shouldn't touch science with a ten foot pole. Well, anything really, but science especially.

And, probably more pertinent to your intentions, the government only contributed $250,000 to a $20,000,000 study, or so they claim. I've seen stuff on their involvement with similar projects though.
