That said, I'm waiting for Coldy's next fic almost as much as I'm waiting for the DVD's to come out.  His stories are that good.

My thought is that if you don't like someone's art then you should just say nothing at all. It takes a certain amount of courage to post something as personal as a piece of art, and you have to respect that, even if you don't personally like it yourself.

The one exception is if you are actually trying to help someone improve.  Then you need to be specific.  If you are criticizing just to trash someone then you are just being rude.

Mr. Blonde's post was not only rude, but dumb too.  That's doubly unforgivable.

Seriously though, this is just pure arseholery - if you don't care for someone's work then you don't go in their thread. Easy. If a comment regarding something is neither constructive criticism or praise, it deserves to be ignored. If it's inappropriate, one takes action to have it taken care of. Coldangel has done this. I praise him accordingly.

However, coldangel himself has posted derogatory material in return. Case in point. For someone who claims not to care either way, this seems to be unnecessarily harsh.

There are things that can be learned from any disparaging remark or exchange, no matter how disdainful, insulting, or useless they appear. Nothing complimentary has been revealed on the behalf of anyone during the whole of this supererogatory palaver. Perhaps we could all apologize, forget what the problem was and return to what it is we're actually here for?

I call Joel one of my cyberfriends.  He and I have different political opinions but I respect his artistic ability.  He contributes to the board and to the francise.

I'm one to defend my friends when they are attacked - in real life and otherwise.  He was verbally attacked, so I waded in.

I agree with everything Ralph just said. Seriously. Although technically, I don't have 'cyberbuddies'. Sounds too much like Cybermen. I just have friends, and regardless of our association, I too will stand up to defend them when they are attacked.

But I hate negativity. And although I also loved that picture's political incorrectness, I simply did not find it humourus or beneficial to the conversation. And seeing as how coldangel's posting it was obviously distracting him from posting yet another lovely picture, I deemed everyone in the thread worthy of a wrist slap and a stern finger in order to get the proper laws of the universe running back along the lines of The Way Things are Supposed to be Running.

El Chupanibre was hard to do... and I'm not really happy with how it turned out. Mostly when I draw monsters they have faces more like human skulls, where in the show this guy had more of a crocodilian snout. His top-heavy anatomy was another hurdle... some aspects of Groening cartoons just can't transition to other styles effectively.
