I'm a Fry/Amy shipper, but I don't really like fanfiction.   I prefer them together, but I can see that Fry/Leela are meant to be. 

I still dislike PYHOMS, simply because Fry and Amy had a pretty cute, sweet relationship, but they had to turn Fry into a massive, commitment phobic asshole for them to break up (felt really ooc for me).  Let's face it, if you dumped the pretty, smart, playful, kind, kinky, intelligent, billionare heiress who was dating you casually and not trying to sink her claws into you, to chase after the woman who still won't give you the time of the day after saving her life or writing her an opera...
we'd be looking at you like you're absolutely crazy.

Eh. I'm pretty sure that Gorky said something similar to this, but Fry and Amy's relationship, while kind of cute, seemed a little shallow. Their relationship reminds me more of a friends-with-benefits kind of thing. While they seem to genuinely enjoy each other's company, they don't seem to have any strong, non-platonic emotions for each other.
That being said, I agree that Leela can be downright cruel to Fry.

Well to be fair, we didn't exactly get to see it get taken to the next level... speaking of which, neither have Fry and Leela.  I find it annoying that Amy and Fry's relationship did have potential into becoming something more.  Something more then Fry doggedly pursuing Amy while she dates douchebags but still gives him scathing put downs whenever he says anything sweet.
