Update of the real story
Part Eight
Fry rushed over to check on Sam, while Leela had to use all her strength to restrain Jess.
“I’ll KILL you Sam!” Jess roared, struggling against Leela’s iron grip. Fry carefully examined Sam’s bloody nose and gasped.
“How many times did you hit him Jess?” he asked quietly.
“Once,” Jess snarled, twisting and turning in a desperate attempt to escape Leela’s grip.
“Jesus, remind me never to get you mad, his nose is broken!” announced Fry, “What did he do?”
“I told her the truth,” spat Sam.
“Like hell you did, you have no idea what you’re talking about!” snapped Jess
“I know for a fact that Ryan Shore is trouble!”
“You know what you heard about his mother!”
“Whoa, slow down a minute, what are you two talking about?” asked Leela.
“She’s dating Ryan Shore!” yelled Sam in outrage.
“Who’s Ryan Shore?” questioned Leela calmly
“He’s the eighteen year old scumbag son of Paul and Michelle Shore!”
“Michelle! You mean she actually married Paul Shore?” said a stunned Fry.
“Yeah, and they had a son, Ryan,” explained Sam through gritted teeth.
“But Ryan isn’t like his parents! You have no right to judge him Sam!” seethed Jess.
“To hell I don’t! You’re my sister and I refuse to see you hurt by that jackass!”
“Don’t call him that!” roared Jess as she took advantage of Leela’s slackened grip and launched herself at Sam. Fry managed to get himself in between Sam and Jess, and received a blow to the stomach for his trouble. In the single moment that Jess was stunned into stillness, Leela grasped hold of her and reaffirmed her grip, and Fry wheezed for breath.
“You’re…very…strong!” wheezed Fry.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry dad!” apologized Jess.
“Don’t worry about it, I got use to it after a week working with your mother,” said Fry. Leela glared at him.
“I never hit you…much…often,” muttered Leela.
“Anyway, can we please sort this out before you murder your brother.” Said Fry, “I want to hear both sides, Sam you can go first,”
“Ryan is a womanising jerk; he’ll have his fun with Jess and leave her when he’s done!” Sam explained venomously. Jess looked ready to attack Sam again so Leela tightened her grip slightly. Fry turned to Jess.
“Your turn,” he said.
“Ryan is a lovely guy, he treats me with respect and he gets me gifts and is nothing like his parents. The only ‘womanising’ he ever did was when tarts like Charlotte Branigan were throwing themselves at him, he didn’t ask for that and he never led them on. Ryan is totally honest and we’re in love,” stated Jess definitely. Fry looked at Leela, not sure what to say, Jess had so much conviction behind the statement.
“Are you sure you love him?” asked Leela simply, “Does he make you happy when you’re sad? Does he calm you when you’re angry?”
“Yeah, it’s like, when I’m around him nothing else seems to matter, as long as we are together everything’s gonna be okay, you know what I mean?” sighed Jess contently.
“Yeah, I know what you mean,” said Leela, pointedly looking towards Fry.
“I think that it should be okay for you to carry on seeing him on one condition,” said Fry thoughtfully.
“What?” Jess asked desperately.
“When you and Sam go back to the future, you have to bring Ryan home so I can talk to him and get to know his character,”
“Okay,” agreed Jess.
“NO WAY!” shouted Sam, “You cannot be serious!”
“I am serious, just because his parents are scum, if he makes Jess happy that’s the main thing,” said Fry begrudgingly.
“Okay, I suppose,” agreed Sam.
Now that she was sure that Jess wasn’t going to fly of the handle, Leela turned her mind to a bigger problem.
“How do we get you back to the future?”
