Not sure where to put this thread...
Anyway, I've been using RPGMaker 95 up to 2K3, and have an extensive knowledge of the program.  I'm wondering if a few people would be willing to come together to get a enjoyable fan made project out there.  On other things I have worked on, I ended up getting burnt out because I had been doing everything from setting the program, to making sprite sheets.
If I can get a character sheet of each character, some sprites of the ship, and possibly a tileset of Planet Express, I can focus on laying the foundation of the game.

If interested, post what you can do.

What I'm looking for-
-A well thought out script.
-Well made Sprite sheets.

What would be helpful-
-Another mapper / Animator.

Usually when I make a project, I aim for the quality and depth of the likes of Final Fantasy VII.  Just so you know.  *Cough*

But off course...

I'd be interested in playing this game, and perhaps contributing to writing it, though of course, there are several members of this board far and away more qualified to do so.  The one who immediately leaps to mind involved himself in a somewhat more professional attempt at a freeware adventure game, but that is apparently languishing for lack of programmers.

Of course, if you really want it as depressing as FFVII, there's always the second writer who springs to mind, although she doesn't have much use for these "scripts" of which you speak.

Ruups...
I meant Final Fantasy 'VI' (Known as III here in the states).  My bad.

(A quick apology to whoever moved the thread, but thanks.)

Nerd-O, if you want, you could write a demo script of sorts.  I want to stay away from Planet Express for the mean time though, until I get a proper Tile set.

But for now, I have to get some coffee in my system.  If kind of blows having a day off when you work third shift.

Oh, well that's another story entirely.  I can't possibly make fun of you for liking FFVI.  Not without being retarded.
Not that it wasn't also depressing...

I'll throw a couple scenes together.  Honestly, I've been meaning to make a start on the whole fanscript thing, but my crippling lack of self-esteem sort of made it difficult.  I can persuade myself to do for a game, however, as it is my lifelong dream to be a game designer, and no one expects coherent plots from RPGs anyway.

Good thing you bumped this thread to say that...
I'd like to see this project happen, unfortunately I can't contribute graphics as my Paint-fu is weak. My Code-fu is strong, but you don't need a coder. Ah well.

Out of curriousity though, how would combat work? I mean, what kind of "attacks" is Fry going to have? Will he wield a can of slurm, and spit teeth at them or something?  :)

After nearly two months with little to no interest about the project, I threw the idea completely out the window.
