First time I've tried to draw anything Futurama.  It's still a work in progress, but knowing me, I'll toss it in my folder of 2 GB's worth of Phailures.
First off, yes, I have my own style.  If you don't like it, don't simply say "Omg it sux".  That's annoying.  Instead, provided some contructive criticism.

Now then...   http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/RobotDevil.jpg
Mostly a sketch at the moment.  Most if not all of the straight lines will be smoothed out once I start working on those areas.   http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/Untitled-2copy.jpg
With a darker background, to see how the colors should look after I add a background.  I... am having a hard time with such a bland character.  The upper body is definiately being re-done.

"'To shreds' you say?"

Omg it sux. DON'T POST ART OF SATAN ON CHRISTMAS, IT MAKES JESUS CRY.

Seriously though, nice stuff. If I were you, I'd have waited until I'd finished the picture fully before posting it, being your first Futurama art and all - but either way, it lookgs good so far. You've definitely got your own style going there, and it's complimenting the picture very well. I like the shading, too. Can't wait to see the final product!   ;)

You have the character drawn well. I think it's a bit busy though when it comes to the amount of lines and chunks of shading colors. It's starting to look a bit overworked. But that depends on if it's your style.

Typically Futurama style is a simple one line, one color with and occational single shade color put in for drama. Mainly because somewhere between 15-30 cells have to be made for each second of program. And I don't think either the comic books or posters get more elaborate. Sometimes simplification is the hardest thing to do.

Exactly.  I'm finding it extremely hard working with such simple characters.
(Shameless plugin)- Some of my other (Phail'd) art (Non-Futurama related)-http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/DenimOmegaUpdate.jpg

I like to add small details, but I understand fans of a series hate change, no matter how trivial.  Heck, I made the mistake of posting some Shadow the Hedgehog art on some other board, and simply because I made him slightly taller then he should be I got the "OMG it sux" replies.

However, I'm not past going back and simplifying the coloring, so I'll end up going back and just keeping it simple once this version is done.

Any and all critique is helpful.  The first image is updated regularly, so you can check the progress.  It might take a refresh.

EDIT-
Also, I've noticed changes in the shades of the RoboDevil's horns (Such as in the avatar I'm using).  I'm color blind, meaning... well... I cannot see color's.  So I want to make sure I'm using the correct color for the horns.  If someone could hint me in as to what color they are, that would be apprecited.

well, the ones on your avatar are beige-ish, but on the show, they're more of a golden yellow

Edit: Did you post the Shadow on the nintendo forums? Those people are so critical about shading   :mad:  they are... Post it here. We wanna see it's awesomeness. I also have an art thread (name in the title of it) I've drawn Mario not too long ago and people kinda complained about him being taller too... --;;

Alright, I'll get around to fixing it as soon as I unwind from work.

As for the Shadow art, it was basically the same thing here.  I asked if I could get some advice on how Shadow's quills work, and posted this- http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/ShadowOMGSUX.jpg

I had a helpful reply explaining how they are, so I went back to work.  Next time I checked the board, I had 3 pages of "OMG it SUX!" posts.
As far as I got before I canned it- http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/ShadowSmaller.jpg

As far as the above poster mentioned, I never really thought of the Robot Devil being as evil as I'm making him out to be either.  Just something I thought would be fun to doodle around with.

Nice Robot Devil Dues.EXE. I especially like the way you have used a manga/goth/death style which totally suits the devil in this case. The pupils have a nice effect to them also. Nice shadow effect.
And me being an artist for a whole school year I can honestly say this is better than any of my crap  :p. But really I'd die before I drew anything that good.

Shadow looks fine to me, and his quills look right too... I see you've given it a sort of "dragon ball-ish" style, but I like it   :D I gives a new perspective, that, I myself, suck at doing. People on PEEL are more liad back, so you can finish and the crowd will go wild, and not be as critical. Trust me, they've yet to see too many new artists that are really good (such as us. People like my stuff... or so it seems)

Alright.  Well... I have no idea where to post this.  The offtopic discussion thread seems just as that-  Discussion.  There should be another forum section for off-topic art...

BUT... Since I have also seen other members here post off-topic art in their threads in this section, as will I!

 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/StroutX/RedConestFinished.jpg
The contest was to 'Gender bend' the characters of specific old cartoon show.  This is my entry, but I lost to some artists who were a lot better then I ever hope to be.
 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/StroutX/DeusCop.jpg
Oh wait, that's me at Halloween...
 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/StroutX/ComicUT1.jpg
Just something simple I drew to show others how I play UT2K4.  Very aggressive, and at times just running pointblank with a redeemer...
 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/StroutX/Kaptkaotix.jpg
Old Art.  A buddy of mine asked me to draw his character.  So I did.  Also seen in the small comic above.
 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/StroutX/KaigeFinishedSmaller2.jpg
Old art.  Another bud of mine asked to draw their character with another character from some cartoon show which will remain nameless.
 http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/RandomComic1Smaller.jpg
A small comic from a small series I was doing.
 http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/NaugusBG.jpg
Old Art.  Another character from an old Saturday morning cartoon show.
 http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/EhCopy.jpg
My pet project about a month ago.  I since gave up on it.
 http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/AerisXFinished.jpg
Fan Art.  Aeris from VGCats.  I know, I know.  The figure is off, but it was -hard- to change a bulk of muscle like Wolverine into a small anthro body.

And Finally...
NSFW.  (Mature Content) http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a24/DeusExErinaceus/AerisXXXcopy.jpg
VGCat's Aeris again.  I never do Hentai requests, and this was basically a jab at the guy who had requested it.  All the naughty bits blurred out as if the image was loading.  I got a mixture of laughs and "Aw man!"'s from the image.

And back to Futurama...
I updated a little of the RoboDevil.  Just filled in a leg.  The style used is CellShading. I'm interested in if others would rather I take the time and blend the image to make it look more like my 'Pet Project' style of shading.

You art you entered into that contest didn't win why? It's really awesome! (More awesome than I'll ever hope to do without special programs, or at all) All very awesome.. More!!   :D As for shading, I don't care which, they both do the job.

My friend told me about a program called 'Opencanvas 1.1'.  This is my first session, along with his.  I... well drew basically everything except for Robotnik on the top right.  That was his doing.  But... Look!  Farnsworth!    :D   The tubbo is a known writer for a popular comic book... Who he is, I'm not telling, which is why I blurred his name.  Hell, I don't even know what he LOOKS like, I just wanted to show how much I hate him for how he is sodomizing my childhood with his awful comic (Which used to be amazing... 10 years ago.).

Look around the art threads...some people here do very "authentic" Futurama art, and some people do highly stylized works (a few very talented people do both).

I happen to like your Robot Devil a lot.  Very dynamic, very intense.  Stay the course, my friend.

I think its amazing. But since you are color blind how do you draw with the colors. I think it is awsome that i know some one who cant see color, never meet that type of person.

I usually color grab.  However, in doing so, I also screwed up the picture.  The RoboDevil's arms and legs are Red, correct?  I just realized that after watching an episode with him, while paying attention to his anatomy.

The picture I color grabbed from must have been using some wonky lighting effects...  The colors I used for the arms and legs are the same colors I grabbed from the image.  Either way, I think I'm tossing the Devil Image as it is.  Might start up on another Futurama image.
