This is a preliminary sketch for a pastel I'm planning to do.  Tell me what you think!!

btw, the caption reads "Mer-Fry dreamin of yummy sea urchin"

You might want to get rid of the little tendrils on Fry's tail. They might look ok once their colored, but at first glance i thought the top part of his tail was actually the back of umbriel's head... i'm not even gonna say what that made it look like was going on in that drawing.

But other than that it looked great. Fry's head is very accurate and Fry is very hard to draw.

A very... sexy Fry... like Venus said though, try removing the tendrils. LOVE IT otherwise

Yes, I should know... Fry's extremely hard to draw...Only tried twenty times..

I confess (plz don't shoot me!!) for Fry's upper body I looked off a framegrab.  Fry was originally facing right.  It took me forever to reverse him and make him look accurate.

I looked off some paintings of mermaids for tail ideas, and one picture I liked was of a mermaid w/fins on the sides and back of her tail.  That's what I was going for.  Fry's side fins are probably going to be white edged w/red, w/red tendrils.  The tail flukes are going to be kind of see-through.

Hahahah! I thought the exact same thing.

But nonetheless, a very cute and creative picture. I cant wait to see the finished product.

I think once you color it in, it'll look a little less confusing... I like your ideas for color, too.

I just remembered that a fish larva is called a fry, so Fry would actually be a very appropriate name for a merman.

wow, Fry's hair is like perfect. *claps* question thou, and this is just me because i'm utterly clueless when it comes all things remotely science-y, but what is Fry thinking of? Can't wait for more! 

-And what's wrong with talking to your dictionary? They are pretty lonely you know.

  I wasn't actually talking to it, if you took it that I was... more to myself... Fry's thinking what he alwasy does underwater, remember, he peed two times and had a somewhat similar expression

In the drawing, Fry's thinking about finding a sea urchin (a spiny black critter that's kinda like a clam) to eat, bcause they taste like cheeseburgers to him.  In the pencil/pastel, he's just lookin up @ the sun through the water.

When I fininshed the sketch, I kinda wanted to start singing "Part of Your World"  I just put the sea urchin thing in there after I was done drawing it.
