Here Venus, I think you deserve this smiley face more than I do.  Excellent work on a wonderfully long update.  Best of luck weathering the weather.

Aw yes! I'm glad to see this. Great work between the dialouge. I sorta thought you'd end it when she woke up. But I remember reading parts after this when I first joined PEEL. Can't wait to see more.

Oh no i got a spammer! Someone get the powder!

Thanks to everyone who commented. Hopefully the second half of the story will be as decent as the first. You're in for a lot of Fry/Leela and Leela/her parents interaction. So hopefully you like that sorta thing.

Oh yeah, I can just see the tremendous amount of love and respect that Fry will have for Leela's parents, especially Munda.  For once, will Leela have to be the referee instead of being one of the combatants?

May I congratulate you for 16 days of non-suckage?

Well Wilma has come and gone. And just as expected...i died. My death went a little something like this:

"Oh God Wilma is right behind us! Run!"  *runs*
"IT'S COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION! AAHHHH!!" *runs other way*

Such a senseless tragedy. Now let's spend the next few days reminiscing on how great i was.

Ah Venus, you talented fiend. I'm still keeping up. I read the last chapter you posted and was incredibly excited and went, "Ooh, I think this is where she wakes up!!! I think this is where she wakes up!!" Ahh, and now the recovery period... can't wait  :D.

Let me be the first to admit that I, for one, am glad she's dead. About time! Venus has long distracted people from me, Layla, and something had to be done. Not that I am implying any direct hurricane summoning on my part of course. I arranged for that giant hairdryer to be aimed at the water off the coast of Africa for purely unrelated reasons.

Anyway, now that Venus is dead, I only have Shiny to contend with in drama fanfictioning (not that she should be concerned about the unusual weather patterns developing in the area).

As a sign of respect, I will be wearing my hot pink Florida tee shirt and taking credit for her fanfic. Yes, it is brilliant, isn't it? What a wonderful author I am for writing it!

Poor Venus! Now, she's just a rotting corpse on the side of the road. Partially eaten by her cats, she lying there alone in one foot of water.

We should take a few minutes of silence to remember all the great things she did in her life...

Now all hail the fanfic mistress Layla!!! Hooray for Layla!!!

Could the waste department remove that corpse please? It's starting to smell in here! :p

No really, I'm glad that you're ok Venus! Were you hit hard in Orlando?

(Checks watch) Wait, you mean the 10:15 to Nutley isn't coming?!

P.S. Shiny is repulsed by Layla's callous attitude, even as she admires the shameless honesty of her naked greed.  (Calls hit squad, instructs them that one target is down, proceed to the next ASAP).

Delay that order Shiny. You won’t need your hit squad; the storm that “killed” Venus is now heading in Layla’s direction!  :hmpf:

So you can save those bullets for another target!  :p

(Nic is running back into the woods so Shiny’s wrath will hot get to him.)

Aw c'mon, "16 Days" is one of the best 'fics currently 'in production'. Cut F-Man some slack.
I'm as anxious as the next person.

@ Venus: As always, if there's anything I may do to help you overcome your writer's-block, just say the word.

That bump was stupid. Just wait for Venus. The thread will not go in a black hole if she doesn't bump it in the next few days. It's called writer's block. Okay? Deal.

I think the thread bumping should be left to Venus, though.  It's disappointing when you see new messages listed, get all excited, open it up and then find that it was nothing.

Hi everyone, I am new to PEEL. I was looking around two days ago for a good fan fiction to read (possible one mainly about the whole fry/leela thing) and I found a fan fic to The Sting, My favorite episode!!! It took me two days to read in between homework and school, and I loved it!!! Thank you Venus for this amazing story!!! Oh and I look forward to the recovery story!

This is an outrage! Shiny, Layla and JBERGES havn't posted updates to their stories in forever! Someone should do something! Like poke them repeatedly!

I havn't posted anything either, but i'm working on that i swear! That's actually why i bumped this i'm working on it now and i need some assistance. What kind of books would Munda and Morris read? I need titles. I'm at a scene where Leela is skimming through her parents book collection, but i'm not clever enough to come up with clever title names. They can't be too out there though, they gotta kinda match what we've seen of their personalities.

"Does God Belong in the Bedroom?" (unread, an unwanted coffeetable book from a friend years ago)

"What your daughter's cooking says about _you_" (New, but very well read. Has tentacle sucker marks on it)

"The Ambivalent Mutant: Politics, Religion, and Family in Modern Mutant Life" (Someone took a minor in mutant studies, never threw out this textbook)

"The MomCorp MC68000 Microprocessor Family: The MOS Memory Data Book for Design Engineers" (I figure Morris is an electronics/mechanics guy)

Or you could come up with pseudo-academic titles reflecting Munda's degrees in alien languages?

Let see... Books titles... Ok Its late and I'm really sleepy here but maybe this:

"The 1001 dead languages of the universe: volume 3, From F French to J Jurumian XIIV" (Badly water damaged book from 2967.)

Can't wait to read the next part of your fic!
