Well this is my first attempt at some fanart, of any sort. its a scan from The Day the Earth Stood Stupid, and well tell me what you think. I was just messing around in Photoshop CS and decided to this, which is a nice change from doing tiny 20x20 pixels graphics for programs.

Tell me what you think, and i want your honest opinion please. So i know if its worth me doing any more

The shading is neat, keep at it!  :)

Have you thought about doing some hand-drawn stuff?

I have had a go at hand drawn stuff before, in fact i did one which i coloured and shaded, if i find it iw ill post it. To be honest i'm not that good at drawing, and i am only able to do fry really, but not that well  :(

I'll stick with scans for now, and work on doing shading and making them more realistic for now. Here is another on i did this afternoon.

Wow, this is great stuff! The shading is really impressive, and the backgrounds are nice. I agree with Zmithy, keep at it!  :)

Thanks, I'm currently having a go a hand drawn one. It will take longer than a scan though as i'll have to do a few drafts to get it right.

Any requests for any thing?

Those are great; they look just like the cartoon. Maybe you can try to draw some other characters?

I'm usually a pretty harsh critic (in my own mind) about people's work.  Where everyone else thinks something is great, I tend to think it looks like a pile of shit, but even I would have to give my nod of approval to these.

Thanks! I'm glad you like them. I personally don't like the first one that much, the shape is off, and things.

MrMoose, i can be a harsh critic too mainly at my own work. I was tempted to trash the first one, but i though that it is only my first so i should keep it. Personally i don't like it though.

Those are pretty good Tom35, I say keep it up.  And I understand what you mean, whenever I make something, it couldn't be good enough.  The creator will always see the little imperfections in his creations.

Those are great. I like how your shading is very unique (I like the Fry's jacket and the Professors glasses in the TDTESS) I'm not much of a fan of the gradient fill, but I don't know how to even make scans, so I can't really criticize...

Wow. I've ignored this thread for HOW long?!

These are great, especially for just being a beginner! The shading is so realistic and incredibly awesome. Most of the time, I hate gradient fill backgrounds, but you really pull it off nicely.

Keep it up!

Thanks all. I'm currently trying something new with scans to make it more my own work, than just a pure scan. I don't if it will owkr though. If it doesn't then you won't see any of the work but if it does expect to see some with in the next 2 weeks  ;).

Anyways thanks again for your support.
