Just out of curiousity do you use scan art in your comics, hand draw them or what?
Little from column A, little from column B. Never been too good at drawing the characters - and considering how much emotion they need to show to communicate certain lines, most of the character images are scans, usually a composite of 2 or 3 framegrabs.
As of late (particularly in Issues 5 & 6), I have been trying to get the pictures in them as original as possible, so I've been trying to use scans a little less now - you'll usually find that quite a few of the backgrounds and even some character bodies are now hand-drawn.
But, hey - there are plenty of talented artists at this board and I never claimed to be one of them, that'd just be lying. For me, the pictures aren't the main focus, anyway. Although I like to make the issues visually pleasing with nice shading and such, the main reason I make these is just purely to tell a little story and hopefully make a few people laugh.
I figured a comic would attract a few more causual Futurama fans to a fan-made story than most fan-fics... Although that's not to say there aren't some great Futurama fan-fics out there, I'm just saying that with all that text, some people might be put off, so the appeal seems a tad more limited. Since a comic is as close to an episode as I could ever get, I just wanted to do something that's fairly short, fun to read, and helps out the Futurama fan community.
Errr, but I'm rambling, so I'll stop. As for the upcoming issue's storyline... I can't reveal too much yet simply because I haven't fully decided on a few key plot concepts, but I'll just say it contains some humour, some science fiction, some nudity and some action. There's something for everyone!
