It's based on a deleted scene from THAIP that, in my opinion, shouldn't have been cut. Originally posted by becky: I just adore your latest, non-outline pictures! And the unknown robot (let's call him Bender, shall we? ) and the hooker bot is really artistic because of the way it's composed together. I love the repetitions. Is there a deeper meaning to that picture? Because I think I get it. Thanks, it's based on Bender's line from 300 big boys: "One $300 hookerbot or 300 $1 hookerbots?" Yeah, I know there aren't hundreds of 'em, but I think it works, sort of... I didn't intend a 'mystery robot' thing, but I guess that works too. @cat: more shippiness soon, but my gag reflex needs a rest, I'll make a comic first. Thank God I'm a total (by which I mean "people aren't s'pposed to know about it" ) shipper.
Anyway, what can I say, Zmithy? You've certainly got a lot of talent there (This latest pic is great!). Keep up the incredible work.

It's a big bump, but it so deserves it. I obviously LOVE the shippy! The colouring is just gorgeous, especially both of their hairs. Brill! And I must say that this is so Fry in the comic. I could picture that happening in an episode for sure. But why did you only submit 3 of your pics to TLZ? I mean, que? You have more great stuff. Shame on you! (I kid, I kid. Sorta. *nudge nudge*).

Shippyshippyshippyshippyshipp y! *runs around screaming* Zmithy, that picture's adorable. Also, the comic - very like the show, in both the drawing and writing styles. Great! Your (drawing) signature is awesome by the way.

I was gonna wait until I had some new art before replying, but what the hell, long post coming up... Futurama Nerd: Thanks for all the great feedback over the last few months, I really appreciate it . Jaswahhihi: Cheers, drop by more often, this board could do with a few more regulars. Zed 85: I finally found your art on TLZ, lets just say its totally awesome, and I'm inspired. Naked Leela sketch coming up (well, it is page 3), but with some attitude, instead of the usual seductive or emotional poses that don't really suit her personality. hobojobo: And I'll keep using that leg mutant, its funky and on drugs (well, I think so anyway ) Asab: Thanks for mentioning the hair, it was awkward to try and keep the hair lines noticeable, but not overly bright, rather tricksy. I'll send some more stuff to TLZ soon, but I'm not sure which ones to send. I might redo parts of the earlier ones that look a bit crap. ooy: *slap* I don't see much wrong with your comics, they're laid out nicely with some decent ideas. Thats the most important thing with comics, rather than the art itself, IMO. Keep at it! I loved the trogdor one, he rocks. catindisguise: Wooo! Thankyou! You're talking about the avatar right? You can thank becky for that, it's from her comic but modified a little for cool-mustache-ness. I love it, it looks exactly like me, and that is so the look I have on my face for most of the day. I'll get that new picture done soon, I might try it out as a watercolour, but scan in the pencil first, just in case I screw it up, and have to photoshop it instead. I can't manage drawing at the moment though, my fingers are all burnt and nasty after, well, I won't go into that . Heh, my whole arm is smelling weird right now. It was a Snow Day today! Gave me some time to finish off the watercolour. I'm still kinda amateur with the paint (I use acrylics more), but I think it turned out alright.

My art's hair yes, my hair no. But it doesn't deserve compliments, I haven't cut it for months.
But yes, glad y'all liked the hair - I always enjoy drawing or painting hair because of all the detail in it.
I'm lacking in good ideas right now though. Who wants a semi-naked Fry watercolour?

Weirdly I did a Leela&nibbler portrait-sketch based upon the Rowan aaages ago I should upload, I have a slight royalty fetish. nekkid Fry? please do!

Semi? Semi? How about fully naked? Eh? Eh? Ah never mind. * checks Zmithy's post on the 22nd* Oh course I should give you feedback! Why not? You're such a great artist. In fact, you're my favorite fan artist here, with Asa coming close behind

Wimps... and poodles. One sleepless night = one futurama fanart! More shippy, this time from my favourite episode: Not a watercolour I know, but the pencil sketch took ages, and I didn't want to risk screwing it up. Originally posted by alenacat: Weirdly I did a Leela&nibbler portrait-sketch based upon the Rowan aaages ago I should upload, I have a slight royalty fetish. Leela as Damia? Sounds cool, I'd like to see it. Originally posted by Futurama Nerd: Semi? Semi? How about fully naked? Eh? Eh? Ah never mind. I did have an idea for Fry naked on a couch playing the holophoner, with Leela nearby - I'm not sure if I'll get round to doing it anytime soon though, there's other ideas I'd like to draw out (and maybe animate ) first.

Aweing shading on that last one, how did you manage to make it look grainy and textured, yet pixely? shippperific. We demand more! Leela as Damia? Sounds cool, I'd like to see it. This'd be a good point to start my own thread, but laziness is rampant - Damia I presume since I haven't actually read the thing yet. I have Pern audiobooks now, so might do more if I can put up with the reader's annoyingly dull voice.

Cyberpunk Leela! I've always liked the punk style, and might do some more characters like this. The PE crew hairstyles are all a little bit punky, and I have an idea for a weird Bender Tank thingy. Venus + swidzi: Yeah, shippy overload. I keep getting ideas based on episodes, and the shippy ones are the most memorable. YAA: Heh, I was wondering when someone would notice that! I've tried to slip a subtle squeeze into the shippy pix wherever possible . catindisguise: I checked out the florists near the end of my street to get the flowers looking natural. Glad you like 'em . alenacat: It went all grainy when I had to compress it into a .png. It's a relief to know that it looks alright, I thought it kinda screwed up the shading. That Damia sketch is really cool and majestic, you should colour it! I think it's Damia too - although I read the book years ago, and have forgotten everything except the dirty bits... NIC2001: I haven't bothered with the scuplture for months. My reluctance to finish it is mainly due to the fact that the putty smells like satan's eggs. Futurama Nerd: Thanks, and - *checks FN's post on the 10th* Aww, thankyou!

Again, I love the hair! Especially the fringe...the lines you've used are just right! Her eye too, is great. As YAA said, the idea of the mace on the end of the hair is teh great. Awesome picture Z-man! (No, I have no idea where I got that nickname from either...)

Futurama Nerd: Thanks, there's a lot more coming in this style. YAA: You should get a ponytail mace, for bashing, and mauling, and beating everyone at conkers . Cat: Seems like hair is my thing, its quite easy really, just scribbling lots of lines until it looks alright. Jesus (Heh, I really like calling someone Jesus, I'm not quite sure why): Like scan art? That's good to hear, I try to get the characters as 'on-model' as possible. David A: That's just what I thought while drawing it - I explained the mace away as a screw-on attachment that she can take off when it's not needed. I'm still not sure if the ponytail would work as a proper morning star, but it's only art... Without further adieur: Punk-ass Fry! Oh, and I quickly gave up on the 'tank Bender' idea after it turned out like a rather phallic R2D2 .
