Hi all I just recieved an email from Mike Bencic, creative director of the site Artzilla.com, a comic studio run by Superman artist Ed McGuinness. In conjuction with 20th Century Fox and Toynami, the site is running a Futurama Art Contest, with the Futurama Season 4 DVD and a complete set of the new Futurama I-Men toys up for grabs for prizes. I know there are a lot of talented artists out there, so if you're interested, visit the front page of Futurama Madhouse: The Leela Zone ( http://www.futurama-madhouse.com.ar/ ) for more information. Happy drawing people

It just so happens I started a new Futurama fan art last week, which is starting to take shape now. I didn't even know about this competition when I started it, but what the hell, I may as well enter it!...

Thanx, yeah I guess it would be quite fitting. The thing is, I'd feel a bit of a cheap skate entering artwork which is 1 and 2 years old into a new competition. I've got some new art on the way, and I'd feel better about myself entering that, even if it reduces my chances of winning...

I've entered my new art into the comp, Bender with his own Suicide Booth in his chest cavity. I've also been reading through the board where this competition thread exists, and asked some questions, and apparently, although any Futurama art is welcome, they like you to draw it in your own personal style if you have one. I didn't know this before, and they said you can also enter as many pictures as you want! So anyone entering this comp, you don't have to just stick to one. Although having said that, you can't win multiple prizes, because it's one prize per person, not per art...
I see FemJ has taken part, and submitted quite a few pictures, including my favorite of hers, at Elzars with Nibbler as the meal. As this is quite old, and as you're allowed to have as many pictures as you want, and as they said about drawing it in your own style, I've decided also to add one more picture which is more in my own personal style artistically. It's a more abstract drawing of Fry, Bender and Leela represented with futuristic buildings. I did this about a year ago.
My new pic with the Bender Suicide Booth more represents my humor, as where my abstract pic represents my artistic style. I'm playing it on those two elements...

That totally sucks, the nerve of some people!... Anyway, less than a week to go until the closing date. There's so many quality arts in this comp. I think my favorite so far is agnes one, it's at the top of page 3. It features many of Futurama's robots drawn in the cloolest style, one of the best fan arts I've ever seen! ...

What the hell? They've got a voting system set up where you can vote for yourself!
Thats just twisted, I entered but I don't want to vote for my own piece, it would just be so pretentious with all the great entries on there.

The fact you can vote for yourself is just cheap! I'm not gonna vote for myself, I don't think mine's the best anyway, aside from moral issues...

There has not been a lot of voting going on over there. I would like to encourage everyone to go over and check out the entries and vote (especially for my colleague Furious Nick)!!!

Ok, the forum suggested there would be a second round of voting, but thats not the case- And the winners are: Furious Nick Agnes Jorzac If you see this, congratulations! Unless you voted for yourself, in which case give your prize to TheVoices (One more vote and he would have been in there). The winners pageAll the entries were fantastic, and the turnout was huge, but the entries should have been judged professionally, by actual judges from the site, with points awarded in different fields. Many of the entrants must have spent hours doing stuff for the competition over the last couple of months, the least they could do is bother to spare a few minutes to judge the thing. I'm off to the angry dome!

When I first entered in, that how I thought they were going to do it. I was sadly mistaken. They really should have had someone from FOX judge it but we can't have that cause that would have made sense! With the turnout, it would have been nice for FOX to see how many people are fans of the show. Maybe give them a wakeup call I'll join you! ------------------ Oh wait, you were serious.
