I'm mad that CN has moved TMNT to 2:30 from 5:30.  I'm starting to really like the show.  I don't think it's better than the old version, but this series is more mature.

One thing I'm amazed is that in this series, April is studying martial arts.  In the old version, April never attempted to even practice martial arts.  Her learning in this series makes more sense.

My friend, who doesn't have CN told me today that he finally saw a new episode on FOX.  An episode I previously saw on CN.

*pokes this thread with a stick*

Has anyone taken a look at the new movie trailer?

I think it looks pretty good. A lot better than the new TV series.
They've gone back to the old humor of the original cartoon.
I actually can't wait for it to come out.

Ah, TMNT (Or as known as in Europe, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, groan) is awesome.

I really hope this new movie will quite good. I have vague memories of the movies from the past. They were alright, expect for the ones with the mutated Shredder.

I was a 4 year old kid in North America in the late 80s, so my life obviously revolved around the Ninja Turtles until 1992 or so. I never did realize how science fictiony that the Ninja Turtles were until I was older.

Anyway, I watched the new show a few times, and while it is closer to the comics, I don't like it very much. Looking forward to the new movie.

I have vague memories of that TV show done with the same puppets from the movies back in the late nineties.

They added a girl to the group I believe and they were fighting chinese dragons?

*Krang shakes appendage*  :laff:

I had some Turtles, Bebop and Rocksteady figures, wonder if they'll be worth anything now?

There's two trailers out, be sure to check out the 2nd non-teaser one.

I've had a few Turtle Toys in my time. They kicked He-Mans ass a few times.

Then rocked with Optimus Prime.

I had so many turtle toys back in the day.  I had like at least 5 different Michaelangelos, the turtle-com, the turtle van, the turtle lair, and even April.

I'm definitely going to check the movie out.

I firmly believe that Krang was put on this show just for us to laugh at.

Case in point:
His odd resemblance to chewing gum.

There exists a picture of Krang next to Meatwad or whatever his name is from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, yes?

If not there should be.

Poor old Krang, looking like gum and that creepy robot body of his were the main causes of nobody taking him seriously.

Anyone else remember that TV series?

I was talking about this live action TV series I saw in the late nineties when I was much smaller.

I haven't seen the cartoon in ages. I should watch an episode on YouTube and relive the memories.

Ninja Turtles: Next Mutation.
It was the live action series that ran from 97 - 98.
It featured the only offical Female turtle, Venus De Milo.

FTW

This the one?

*This below is mentally read as Kangs voice*

[Krang]Tonight, we shall unleash a virulent pleague aimed at the children and the elderly, as well as puppies, kittens and nuns which caus-Hey, why the fuck are you laughing? stop![/Krang]

You can see why Shredder was feared, his appearince was much more menacing and a lot less silly. He also wore trousers.

Also, remember the Ninja robots?

Has anybody seen the episode "Return of the Shredder" recently?  It's from the old series season 2 and I swear that John DiMaggio provides some voice over work.  There's a scene where two muggers try to mug Shredder and there's an ninja instructor Shredder meets later.  Does anybody have the credits from this episode?

Yup. The real Foot Clan in the comics are guys. The robots in the cartoon just make me chuckle because somebody didn't consider the blatant gore such weapons can do to the human body until the show was being produced.

'Oh shit, blades draw blood!'

The original comics are here, In the comics section: http://www.ninjaturtles.com/

I really liked the dark feel to them. I hope they consider making a darker more adult version of the cartoon if the movie gives enough cash.

I still have a graphic novel with the colorized version of the first three comics in it. Great stuff.

After reading the original comics, I deem Faze's webcomic slightly silly.

Several of Turtles packed heat in the future in the form of laser guns.

I remember the puppets in the show from the nieties. It used to come on all the time on my TV during what I would think would be the weekend, though I wasn't aware of it. I was too young to care what day it was. Samaurai Pizza Cats was something cool though.

I'm so watching this on November 21.  The Ultimate TMNT movie.  If you are a true TMNT fan, WATCH IT!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64K4nNctCHk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aK0KsUd4iDo&feature=PlayList&p=277A44A8BB313313&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=67

I recently bought the 25th anniversary tradepaper back of the first 11 issues of the TMNT comic and it was a good read.  I can see that the new TMNT cartoon stayed more true to the comic than the 1987 cartoon.  They lifted a couple of issues and turned them into episodes.

Also, anybody who has Season 5 of the 1987 TMNT on DVD, is it true that it's missing 3 episodes.  I heard that 3 episodes are not on the Season 5 DVD.

EVERY TMNT FAN OUT THERE:

BOYCOTT THE UPCOMING DVD RELEASE of TURTLES FOREVER.  It was a good movie, but Nickelodeon has raped this film with this DVD release

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLhBvXtCd5M&playnext=1&videos=-EymyxZd6Fc&feature=sub

see for yourself.

Hmm, that sucks. That special was great and deserved better. I've heard that the new series of Invader Zim DVDs was similarly fucked up. Way to go, Nickelodeon.

By the way, for anyone who doesn't want to sit through twelve minutes of incredibly slow and repetitive monotony, the main bullet points of that video were...
- Cover art doesn't feature the 87 Turtles
- Nine minutes chopped out
- No widescreen

This is an outrage!  Oh wait, no it isn't.

By all means, don't buy the DVD if the missing footage or lack of widescreen is a problem for you.  Most of the people who'll buy this are probably getting it for their kids, who won't care about such things (or notice).  It's not worth getting worked up over.
