I guess I'll vote for the Stooges. I used to watch them all the time when I was younger.

I presume that Python was off the list for two reasons:
1. A bit more recent than any of the other choices.
2. It would be no contest.

*Insert "What no Python Team?!?" statemant here*

I suppose I'll go with the Stooges from that list. Though you should have put in an "Other" option instead of say, "The Little Rascals" who weren't really a comedy team at all, they were more of a sitcom cast. The only thing they really worked on together was The Little Rascals.

Dermot Morgan and Ardal O'Hanlon as Father Ted and Father Dougal of course, classic comedy those two

No contest; the Marx Brothers. Discovering them was, for me, an awakening to a whole new kind of humor.

"Never mind that stuff, pick a card."
"Card?  What will I do with the card?"
"You can keep it.  I've got 51 left."

The Marx Brothers!

"I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception."

"Those are my principles and if you don't like them... well, I have others."

"Who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?"

"Dig trenches, with our men being killed off like flies? There isn't time to dig trenches. We'll have to buy them ready made. Here, run out and get some trenches. Wait a minute, get them this high" [gestures to his chin] "and our soldiers won't need any pants. Wait a minute, get them this high" [gestures over his head] "and we won't need any soldiers."

"I sent the club a wire stating, PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER."

"He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot."

In short: the Marx Brothers. Even if the Python gang had been on the poll I would still have voted for the Marx brothers.

There has never been, nor do I ever imagine there could be a comic team like the marx brothers.  Seriously, from start to finish of all their films they did nothing but pack the funniest jokes and one-liners ever.  Good heavens, the Marx brothers.

Will somebody start a kung-fu movie star thread now?

Nevermind.  Winner: Bruce Lee!

I abstain due to the fact that the Monty Python team is not included, a fact which has been expressed several times already.

I'm going to have to say, The Three Stooges.  Because their comedy is modern comedy.  Movies, like "There's Something About Mary", Lethal Weapon movies have Stooge influences.
