This thread didn't start the best, but disturbingly enough I was a huge fan of the Pokemon TV series when I was younger.
As with you Rocketboy, I really did enjoy Jesse James and Meowth of the Team Rocket. I adored their varying team song and the way that James would so often stuff it up.

Such a Classic.
My favourtie Pokemon was the lovable Psyduck. It was great how it used to haunt Misty.

I think that the main reason for this is that it is a kids show that is not really supposed to appeal to adults/teenagers.  It was alright for what it was.

I used to be a HUGE fan of this when i was in elementary and middle skool. Toys, Cards, movies, videogames...i had them all.

I grew out of it, but i can now look back on it with nastalgia and remember how fun and innovative it was for me. So i do still break out my Pokemon Gameboy games to play every once in a while not b/c im a diehard fanboy anymore, just because theyre fun and great games.

I am thirteen and still like Pokemon as much as I did when it first came out. Even though it's not too popular anymore, the anime is continually getting better and more mature, and also switched over to computer animation recently.The movies (coming up on 7 in Japan) are even getting progressively darker in their plots.

I have jigglypuff socks, they rock, and I actually completed the game and loved it. The pokemon themselves are all really insane and great, but the characters in the tv show are stupid. It will be good in a few decades/years in the same way that the magic roundabout is...especially when you watch it at 5am high on caffeine

I used to like Pokemon a little. Seemed cool. Grew out of it I guess. Though I haven't garneshed the hate for it that some people have.

But I was interested to see some of that anime stuff I'd been hearing about for a long time and, at the time, Pokémon was about the closest I could get. Well, I dunno. I liked the Pokemon games.. The first two. I liked the TV show.. The first few seasons. I liked the card game.. The first deck. I like the original cast, the original 151, and the whole phenomenon before it blew up and died a horrible death. Just another case of a fad taken too far. In moderation, Pokemon is very enjoyable. Especially Toshihiro Ono's comics. I mean, seriously..

I like Pokemone since it has led to an influx of Anime into England (Before it, it was almost impsossibleble to get anime over here). I liked the first set of games, if just because they were a sort of beginner's RPG, but well-enough made to entertain experienced RPG players as well.  The original cartoon was humorous because it was all about animal cruelty for fun and profit.  Once the got rid of Brock, the first time, and added eleventy billion new (really lame-looking) pokemon, it just crashed and burned.

I agree with many people here, but that won't stop me from repeating the same damn thing.

Pokemon was a good game. I bought Pokemon Red and Blue when they came out, and I immediately loved them. I never really got into the show; it seemed a little too over the top for me. As soon as I heard there would be a Yellow, Gold, and Silver, or whatever, I jumped ship. By that point, it had become "that stupid kiddy thing that we all roll our eyes at" anyway, so I had no shame in abandoning it.

Who needs more than 151 freaking Pokemon, anyway? I spent hours on end memorizing the chart that came with the strategy guide, and I sure as hell wasn't gonna learn eleventy billion new names.

Zapdos owns.

I was a Pokemon fan back about five years ago or so. I've since sold my games as I'm unable to play them for more than five seconds without getting bored, and I can't watch the TV show for more than five seconds without vomiting at the political correctness towards animals. I did have some pretty badass Pokemon in various games though, like a high level Kabutops and Dugtrio...
