Originally posted by David A: I could have sworn that there were more than 13 episodes though. Most likely due to the fact that Fox kept stopping and starting it. Oh, I forgot to rate all the episodes individually when Season 3 finished, so here's my list now (and a reminder of how many episodes there were): 1. The Cabin Show: A2. For British Eyes Only: B+3. Forget-Me-Now: B-4. Notapusy: B5. Mr. F: A+6. The Ocean Walker: A-7. Prison Break-In: B+8. Making a Stand: B-9. Save Our Bluths: A-10. Fakin' It: A11. Family Ties: B12. Exit Strategy: A+13. Development Arrested: A++Keep in mind these are being ranked by AD standards, so add 2 to each grade when comparing to other shows.

Save Our Bluths only got an A- because it's not so good on repeat viewings. There's some A material in there, but let's face it, it wasn't the best episode of the season.
Also, I believe some cast members were missing from Season 2's commentaries because they were off filming other projects. If that's the case, I wouldn't get your hopes up for an entire cast commentary on Season 3, since pretty much everyone has another project going on at the moment.

I watch it all the time and enjoy it everytime. It cracks me up when Richter is holding Michael against the wall, and he just slides out from the because Richter isn't really holding him. "He's in complete control of the situation." Or something like that. I also love GOB's video for GVH. The bad editing, and his mistake on Donny Most's name, then Ron Howard correcting him. Even though GOB couldn't hear him. And of course GOB accidentilly flirts with Lucille. And the beginning where they make fun of the situation the show is in. Plus them poking fun at stunts a lot of shows use to get viewers, 3-D, Live Ending and of course someone being killed off, granted it wasn't a main character, but still damn funny.
Ron Howard: Oh yeah, that old racist woman chokes to death on Buster's thumb.
That is my only complaint with this episode, Buster's thumb keeps falling off, but I don't remember them saying why. Does anyone know?

It wasn't explained. It might be in a deleted scene or something... though for the record, Gob's video for GVH was in Prison Break-In, not SOBs (Tobias got his hair-plugs removed in Making a Stand, remember).
On a side note, we're nearing 20 pages. Anyone got any ideas for a second thread title? I'm leaning towards something along the lines of "Douche chill! Arrested Development II: Fox made a huge mistake."

Because when they used to let threads go to 70-80 pages, PEEL would start to screw up, and it eventually crashed.
Besides, with 40 posts per page, it's a lot easier if threads are closed at 20. It's hard enough to find specific posts in full threads as it is without adding any more pages into the mix.

Nice work! We had a whole thread about South Park-style AD characters here at The O.P. boards. Definitely well worth checking out, some of them are hilarious (particularly when we begin to get to the sub-characters).

Beamer: Yeah, I was inspired to do them from a George Snr. avatar I saw in some thread there, I assumed there was a thread too, but I wasn't arsed looking. Post em over there, and explain it was with SP Gen-v1, if you want. And the version 2 South Park Generator! I knew it was missing stuff when I was making them! *slaps forehead* And I was thinking a comic would be a good idea, something like Dideldamdam did on page 4 there, only hilarious-er! Anyway, one more before bed, "It aint eeeasay beein whiiiite..."

I'm No Scar.com is still online for some reason! I believe the other sites expired and Fox didn't renew them - I'm No Scar's up because it's still relatively new. And if I hear anything substancial about the show, I'll post it. Right now, various sources are either saying "It's a done deal" or "It looks good," there isn't much difference from what I posted last time, I'm afraid. Still, there are certainly no "the deal fell through" rumours or anything at the moment, so that's a good sign.

Big damn deal, so your DVD screws up, it happens occassionally. As superior in quality as it is, DVD isn't the most reliable form of video storage... I'm sure they'll give you a replacement, I had to get 2 discs in my Futurama Season 3 set replaced when I first got that (although they ended up replacing the whole set entirely, which is a bonus, I guess). Oh yeah, I should probably say, the Season 2 DVD came out here last week... I got it 2 days before its release, yippie. Anyway, the packaging's a little different from the US, so here are some piccies just for the hell of it: It's aliiiiiive!!! Onto slightly more important matters, here are some more news updates about the show. Someone from TelevisionWithoutPity.com (which was mentioned in several AD commentaries & interviews) got to talk to Jason Bateman. Here's a segment from the post where they mention it: Here are the things I remember (and he gave full blessing to post the info as he loves the site and you guys but he's too shy and too cute to post on the boards):
- Mitch loves you guys and it was nice to see people getting the show and enjoying the show especially at times when network directives were "make the show 30% dumber"
- Showtime has picked up the show for 2 years at 12 episodes a year (maybe it was 13) with a third year option
- The ball is in Mitch's court and Jason said Mitch will be making that decision within the next 24-48 hours though I don't know if that means we'll know about it at that time or not
Also, the Hollywood Reporter posted an update on the show's status... Nothing we didn't already know, though they did list some "fact and fiction" about AD, so I figured I'd post that bit here too, just so everyone knows what the current status is: n Fiction: The show has already been snapped up by Showtime to the tune of a 26-episode order, which will be announced any day. Fact: Showtime's hands are tied, pending a decision by "Arrested's" creator and executive producer, Mitch Hurwitz, who is said to be physically and mentally drained and undecided whether he wants to come back for more.
n Fiction: FX is also in the bidding for "Arrested Development." Fact: There is no bidding. ABC was once in the mix but is thought to have dropped out, leaving it a Showtime-or-nobody proposition.
n Fiction: Hurwitz can take his time making a decision because the actors and writers love the job so much they'll wait it out. Fact: Contractually, Hurwitz has basically until June to go forward (or not). After that, he loses most of the cast and writing staff.
n Fiction: If Hurwitz wants to keep the show in production, Showtime is on board no matter what. Fact: The word is that Hurwitz would require huge wads of cash to be lured back, and there are surely limits to Showtime entertainment president Robert Greenblatt's largesse (even at the "No Limits" network). But if a deal can be worked out, the cabler is apparently indeed on board to commit to 26 new originals over two seasons. Annnd, that's the current news update. Now you can see why I haven't been posting much news lately.

Not good news, but still, there could be any reason they're postponing this. Maybe to add more extras, maybe they're waiting until Mitch has made the deal... Who knows, maybe they're holding it off to coincide with Season 4 premiering on Showtime? It's a long shot, but I'm just saying, there could be a good reason behind this.

I don't know why, I guess it's just cheaper to make and they can fit more in shops...
