"House" didn't do anything, but Fox took Arrested Development out of its Monday slot (yet again) and replaced it with a "House" repeat. I mean, how the hell do Fox expect the show to even get an audience in the first place if they never advertise it, constantly take it off, move its slot around and only show about 2 episodes a month on average?

You know, AD could've easily been a hit if Fox marketed it right. All they'd have to do is use a genuinely funny clip from the show (eg. Tobias' Fire Sale audition) and use that in a commercial for it that runs frequently. Instead, there's rarely a promo around for AD, and when there is, they always use the worst jokes, add dumb cartoony sound effects to make the jokes bad, or have people begging for ratings. And why continue to over-advertise things like The OC when they're already getting good ratings? What the hell is wrong with Fox's marketing?!

well the actor who plays dr. house just won a golden globe last night, but it's not like those matter...

i see some other shows that aren't doing so well on the network currently (like mitm) being put on hiatus for a couple weeks until february like arrested development. are there sweeps coming up? i know it's mainly in may and sometime in the fall, but why would they be doing it now? or is this in conjunction with the new winter or "year" lineup with the 2 hour premiere of 24

Generally, Sweeps Months are February, May, and October. That takes care of three of the four seasons.

Beamer, Arrested Development wasn't on this week, which means I miss out on Worlds Most XTREME Animals Countdown after it!

Was it the tennis?

EDIT: Also there was a weird show on last week called 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', which was exactly like Arrested Development except for all the pain it caused me. Must be a crazy evil dominant twin of a TV show or something.  :hmpf:

Yeah, it should be back on after the tennis hopefully, maybe in 2 weeks or so.

Just go and buy the Season 1 DVD already and a fake snow of hope will be your rainbow sequel to domination!

Any one know a good place to get the season 3 episodes? Doesn't matter if they're torrents and whatnot, I'd just like to get caught up before the last 4 episodes air.

Well, if we were to tell you, it'd be breaking the rules. T he PEEL rules openly warn against providing links to the download sites, plus - you can easily find them yourself. Can't you now, Mr. bigshot?

Not only was that not subtle at all, it was a bad place to get them from.

If you google "bittorrent", I use the 16th result.

In all fairness though, my knowledge of these types of sites is limited, and most of them use the same files anyway, so I don't really see how it makes much of a difference in the end. And... you thought I was trying to be subtle?   :p

And what the fuck, Speli? Get out of this thread and go back to Off-Topic.

Well, I've watched the first two episodes of season 3 now:

"Had he been Jack the Ripper, he would have soothed himself in a most unsavoury way, but instead, he just sat in his car and ate a whole thing of candy beans."

Brilliant.

WIG SHOP OWNER: Are you going to buy something this time, or are you just curious?
TOBIAS: Well, I suppose I'm buy-curious...

For British Eyes Only is so under-rated. There was a lot of backlash against that when it first aired - like Amigos or The One Where They Build a House, it's definitely one of those episodes that gets better with multiple viewings. Though Mr. F is easily the greatest episode of Season 3 so far.  :D

^lol, my point exactly. I knew there was a show "House" was replacing, but I could not remember what that show was. (Now I do.)

The last promos I remember seeing for "Arrested Development" was something about a house being transported, and something about a wedding.

Huh. I watch a deal of FOX (more than any other network) yet I've never seen a promo for Arrested Development. I watch 24, The Simpsons, Arrested Development itself, and Kitchen Confidential when it was on. Sometimes I'll flip to FOX for no good reason when I'm channel surfing, yet I still haven't seen one of these "promos." Maybe I'm in the minority.

I saw one during the Sunday night line-up when they first won that wad of emmys. Micheal said that if they managed to break a 14(I think?) in the ratings, they'd give an emmy to some actress, who's name I forget, who has never won one before. I actually thought that it was a pretty good promo.

Carmen Electra.
I've seen about a dozen in my lifetime.
The last two I saw were late at night and were for previous episodes.

Study my avatar my child. Larry David is the co creator of Seinfeld and he has his own wacky antics which are true which is why his show kicks ass. You see Jason Alexander is nothing like George.

George Sr. Fired Super Dave.     :(

I just finished episode 6, been great so far. Serrogate dad was the best joke so far this season. What happened with Oscar? *Edit* Never mind. Just watched 307.  :p

Beamer: Mr. F was episode 5 right? I actually saw that one during it's original airing before I got the DVDs and decided I wanted to watch them all in order.   :p

I think Oscar was waiting for his hair to grow back before showing up again (not to mention with all the stuff happening in 302-306, it would've been quite chaotic if he showed up earlier). And yeah, Mr. F was the episode that... well, centered around the term "MR. F."

Seriously, you've gotta love that episode. The way the storylines all come together is just pure genius, not to mention it has the Godzilla vs Mothra thing and the jetpack instructional video. So damn funny!  :D

I'm actually kinda glad George Sr. fired Super Dave early, though. He was really a one-joke character, and after his large role in Mr. F, it seemed like they'd done every possible angle they could with the surrogate thing. But don't worry Newhook - he DOES make a small appearance again in 309.  ;)

As for Curb Your Enthusiasm, I watch it occassionally... the episodes are either really funny or just plain boring, there doesn't appear to be any middle ground with the show. Still, it has its moments, though it's certainly not in the same league as Arrested Development.

And don't blame House for FOX's problems. I hear House is a really good show, but I've never seen it.

Yeah. They don't give a shit about the show at this point... they didn't advertise it, and moved it to a bad timeslot to kill it, just like Futurama. They KNOW it's going to get bad ratings - hell, it's up against the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

Though apparentally the president of Showtime has said that they've offered a two-year deal to the show. They're rumoured to be VERY interested, and say that AD is the kind of thing they're looking for, and will fit in with what they're doing. ABC has backed off a bit now, the president of that said that he was a fan and thought he could market it, but couldn't see the network picking up the show for another season (Whaaa?). So, I guess it's Showtime then.

Awesome about Friday, I mean, it is a bad day to air AD, but at least it's getting aired. And it gives me something to look forward to. I thought I'd have to wait until the summer to see the rest of the episodes. And I'm glad they'll be on all at once.

I just got back, so I missed the conversation on the last page. Sorry

Well, I'm now all caught up. Now I'm sad because there aren't any new AD episodes to watch till Febuary.   :(

*Crosses fingers for 2 season Showtime deal*

Anyway, I really liked 309. I thought all the self referencing and what not was great. Of course, this episode wouldn't be quite as funny had I known that the show is in danger of being cancelled. Anywho, good as it was I hope they have it out of
their systems now and the whole "We're being cancelled" joke won't be the centre of the last 4 episodes.
