1)-10) Anything on E!

I also must add that what A&E did to Biography is a travesty.  No-one will care about these flash-in-the-pan celebrities in 100 years.  Go back to covering Napolean, Fyodor Dostoyevski, and Shaka for a change.  The occasional modern Biography was fine, but geez, every time I turn it on, it's Jim Carey or the Olson twins.

Also, behind the actors stuio... I can only say this: If you have been featured in at least 3 motion pictures, James Lipton will suck your [LENT].

I could stand DS9 to begin with but it just changed from what Star Trek was about originally. Call me an old-school trekkie but I think Star Trek reached its peak with TNG, and I'd be content to finish the series there. However, I think we can all agree that Voyager was way beyond the point of no return, and they really should have let it die with honor.

Agreed on V'Ger (although some episodes was pretty good, especially those centered around Doc), not so much on TNG being the peak of Star Trek, that honor definetely belong to DS9. The problem with V'Ger was that the show-runners lost their focus and forgot what the show was all about. Instead they settled for TNG Lite and Borg eye candy.

And it took you 9 hours to notice that I'd attacked DS9? C'mon Teral, you're getting slow   :p

Shows I despise:

"Big Brother" - Seriously someone enlighten me. What's so damn interesting about a bunch of attention-whoring, bitchy and down-right unsympathetic people under 24-hour surveillance?

News programs that claim they can give you a news update in 3 minutes. I watch news programs to learn what's happening in the world, not just to see a bunch of gory pictures and buzz-words. Give me some  professional news-coverage, not a damn clipshow.

1) Holidays from Hell
2) Holidays from Hell II
3) Holidays from Hell III
4) Neighbours from Hell
5) Landlords from Hell
6) Tenants from Hell
7) Pets from Hell
8) Gardens from Hell
9) Toasters from Hell
10) Big Brother... or TV from Hell as I like to call it.

To all those slagging off reality TV, please be more specific. Faking It for example is a FANTASTIC example of Reality TV. It's interesting, intelligent, and you can really relate to the characters involved, some of the time anyway. Like the Cambridge student who I wanted to reach into the TV and give a slap.

Given the previous lists you guys don't like anything on TV, which is a good thing. TV does suck, and reading a book is far more enlightening, stimulating, and doesn't give you eye cancer. What was my point again?

1. Soapies and Daytime Soapies
2. Anything with Eddie Maguire on it.

On that note, let me tell you a quote I heard at the recent Melbourne Comedy Festival.
"Television is a powerful tool. Then again, so is Eddie Maguire."  :laff: :laff: :laff::

3. Hospital/law/police dramas (one exception: Scrubs) where the only drama is in the characters' social/sex lives. (Spot on, Ghoulishmoose!)
4. "Talent Shows" (like We'll Call You) with people coming on stage, dancing, doing bad comedy, etcetera.
5. Cheesy American high school shows (spot on again, Ghoulishmoose!)
6. World's Funniest Home Videos, and stuff like that.
7. Kids' real life comedy/drama/action. I mean, come on! Nobody on these shows can act! Shows like the one with that obnoxious fox (Boom boom!), Ship To Shore and The Saddle Club are the worst. When we were little, we watched good stuff like Blinky Bill, Tiny Toon Adventures and Widget.
8. Everybody Loves Raymond. (Basically, nobody loves Raymond.)
9. The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Average Joe, Joe Millionaire, The Bachelor II...
10. Shows that advertise as being "Extreme" or "X-treme".

Stuff I do like:
1. Futurama!!!
2. Whose Line Is It Anyway? (US version)
3. The Office
4. Dead Ringers (TV version)
5. Kath and Kim
6. Survivor
7. Spaced
8. Family Guy
9. CNNNN
10. Queer Eye For The Straight Guy

In no particular order.. [I'll try to make mine unique]
1- The Brak Show[especially the latest season]
2- Tripping the Rift
3- Yakkity Yak
4- Straight Plan for the Gay Man
5- Inside the Actors Studio[most episodes anyway.. the majority of actors featured on this show are mediocre, yet all have their asses kissed like they're the spawn of Bogie and Calculon]
6- Friends[screw them.]
7- Sports related talk shows[Televised sport is fine, but it speaks for itself. In fact, most talk shows are sort of unnecessary now that we have FORUMS!].
8- The Isaac Mizrahi Show[Sure, he's got fashion sense. But it's a retarded show.]
9- The L Word[Bravo's "Gay Weddings" is where you go to see real lesbians. Showtime is where you go to see softcore porn for adolescent boys.]
10-Sex and the City[Again. Go to Oxygen to see real women. Go to HBO to see giggling tramps.]

EDIT: Recently, my Oxygen has been ruined by bad movies and lamebrained original shows. So instead I have to say.. Go to "Xena" and "Talk Sex With Sue Johannson" to see real women.

No particular order...

1. As Told by Ginger- 'nuff said.

2. Maury- "My daughter is a fat-ass slut!"

3. Post 2000 Rugrats- Started to slip with Dil, but Kimi absolutely killed it.

4. The Simple Life- I just...Hate it.

5. The Daily Show- No reason in particular

6. Emeril- I can't watch it. I love pretty much all other cooking shows, but Emeril is just...blah. (Elzar rocks, though)

7. Lizzie McGuire- [sings]I hate Hilary Duff, how I hate her so...[/sing]

8. Maizy- AHH!! THE COLORS! Plus the stories are crap.

9. The Osbournes- If I wanted to watch people swear and be annoying, I'd get in an arguement with my sister.

10. Almost Everything Else you guys have mentioned.

9: Scooby Doo: Shit, If I wanted mind numbing repetative plots I'd read SI Fanfiction.
8: Any Americanised Anime used for just selling crappy Merchandice to Children.
7: Cheap ass Talk shows.
6: Reality Shows.
5: The Good Life: Vyvian in the Young Ones explains it all.
4: Any damn show about the Royal Family.

No particular order, just as they come to me

1. Any and all reality TV (may seem lazy to lump potentially dozens of shows into a single slot, but fuck it, everyone was doing it. I wanted to be popular.)
2. Kath and Kim
3. Home and Away/Neighbours (like there's a difference.)
4. Jerry Springer
5. Charmed
6. Will and Grace
7. Friends
8. Simpsons post S9 (it broke my heart - so, like a bitter ex-lover, I now make it pay. By dissing it in an obscure internet forum.)
9. All those home renovation ones
10. And the entire catalogue of Pop idol shows too.

Yes, the last two were easy targets, but I don't watch enough TV to pick up enough shows that I hate. These ones pollute my viewing time with thier saturation advertising, so on the list they go.

I hate most of the shows on the Disney channel now. They cancled Smart Guy which was the only show I watched whenever it was on. But I really hate Lizzie McGuier. She is obviously not in tune with most of reality. I mean come on, she attracted to a guy who's brain is the size of a cookie crumb.

I like the old Diseny channel better.

Yep that was the one. She reminded me of me a few years ago, constantly arguing just for the sake of being right. She clearly had no idea what she was talking about in the beginning yet still felt the need to argue with Harry anyway. Also Cambridge uni really looks sucky.

Faking It is reality TV since it's real people in real surroundings filmed unscripted. It just so happens that each episode has much of the boring bits cut and 4 weeks is condensed into one hour, as opposed to Big Brother where 4 weeks is drawn out over four long tiresome weeks, complete with the unintelligent bints' attempts at conversation and lots of clips of people sleeping, eating, reading. Ooh, entertaining. Also in Faking It at least there is a task, whereas Big Brother, Pop Idol et al are all just a poor popularity contest.

Started to slip with Dil? The show was killed when they took the hiatus and changed the animation and all the characters.

And I agree, As Told By Ginger is the worst show ever. I hate when they have animated shows that could just as easily be done as live action.

Well, the 12 year old in the house agrees with me.. she thinks most of the cartoons listed here suck as well. I think there's a marked difference between a show made to appeal to children and a show that's just immature. Of course, I have a taste for slightly subversive children's cartoons, like Invader Zim or Dave the Barbarian[not quite as sly, but close. Can you deny a villain named "Chuckles the Silly Piggy"?]. Shows that acknowledge their absurdity.  Most live action for kids today.. like Lizzy McGuire, etc, are less mature than most animation.

Reality TV has been milked on too quickly. Maybe with a gradual schedule of releases reality TV would be all right but too quickly networks are piling more and more of it. Besides almost none of what you see is considered 'true' reality unless it's voyeurism.

Most any crap Nickelodeon has these days must go. It may be cuz I'm getting older but new cartoons seem to get louder and more obnoxious, with the kids following suit. Forget Howard Stern, the FCC should be looking into this.

Hrrm...I hate a lot of TV, but I'm lazy, so here's my top 5

5. The O.C. (one of those shows I don't have to watch to know I'll hate it.  I swear, EVERY ad I see for this is a minute of a bunch of people making out and having sex.  Yawn.)
4. That 70s Show (everyone seems to love it.  Every time I see it, it just seems like a bunch of extremely cheap sex jokes, i.e. Fez: "Man, I wanna [insert euphemism for having sex]!" Cue five minutes of canned laughter)
3. Friends (humor doesn't get any more juvenile than this)
2. Most reality shows (so terrible)
1. Will and Grace (Terrible, just terrible)

Honestly, why do you hate it? Is it a political thing? I'm a (moderate) Republican, and even though most of the politcal targets they lambaste are Republican, I still laugh my head off.

It's all part of the give and take; you have to expect them to target those in power, and right now that's G-Dub and the Republicans. It's still not as bad as it was during Clinton's administration. He's been out for almost 4 years now and the late night comics STILL insist on bringing him up whenever possible.

Well there is alot of TV I don't like, so instead of listing "All Reality TV, Soaps, Milked franchises, MTV/VH1/E! shows etc.", (Those go without saying) I'm just going to list shows that I hate inparticular. These are not in any order.

X. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Singles gays down to stereotypes, and is a terrible concept)
IX. American Idol (Like we need more garbage flooding the music industry)
VIII. The Swan (This is as low and shallow as reality shows get; but as with all of the genre, something will outdo this piece of shit concept before to long)
VII. The Osbournes (Who in the hell thinks watching people live is entertaining?)
VI. Chappelle's Show (Racial humor is not, or never has been, funny in my opinion)
V. Mad TV (Apparently making goofy faces and talking in a stupid voice is enough to make people laugh according to this show; at least SNL had some funny skits)
IV. Jerry Springer (The show that shows just how poor we Americans can really be)
III. Pokemon/Dragon Ball Z/Yu-Gi-OH/etc. (Only there for the merchandising)
II. Televangelest's (sp?) (Hey! Give us money and we'll put in a good word for you with the lord, whom we can't even prove is real!)
I. Top 100 anything by E! ( The host voice is annoying, the selections obviously are picked by teeny-boppers, and overall it is a cheap and ignorent way to get ratings)

You do know anime was made in manga form to support Japan's crappy post war economy?

VENUS IS SELFISH AND WANTS PEOPLE AND CATS TO STARVE!

Anime isn't bad, it's wankers who make it seem to make it bad (like Nurdbot 1.0)

EDIT: And they might use it for there economy again, if they suceed In It think we Brits should do the same with our comedy.
