About Northern Exposure, Amazon.ca has it for C $24.49, which has to be a mistake since Amazon.com has it for US $41.99, or about C $55.67, while the Canadian store ThunderDVD.com has it for C $48.99.  So order now before they notice.  Even with shipping costs, it might be worth it for Americans to get it from Amazon.ca.  The most they can do is cancel the order.

Word and a half (in regards to the KITH DVD's). I ordered mine the first day they were online and got the KITH-inspired magnetic poetry as well. Greatest idea ever.

As for me, I'm patiently awaiting the release of NewsRadio seasons 1 and 2, which was pushed back because they decided to add special features. I'm torn between being angry for having to wait, but thankful for getting more.

I also got the magnetic poetry, and I agree that was a good idea. I'm waiting for Newsradio as well. Not only that but SCTV is hitting DVD in June. I'm hoping I can get my semi puggy digits on that.

Amazon.ca now says that Northern Exposure is no longer available, so they must have sold out of their pre-order allotment (or realized they had it too cheap and just wanted to stop people from ordering).

There's a whole thread on whether or not the original movies are going  to be on the dvd's in the starwars.com forums.
It has been a while, but last time I checked the general opinion was no, not on this release, but probably they will be on a six-movie twelve-disc box-set due a year or something after the ep3 dvd release...
  :(

One good thing, though: there's a very persistent rumour that in the über special edition, Greedo doesn't even get the time to blink, let alone reach for his gun...   :)

Back to the topic. Things I'd like to see on dvd are:
Seinfeld
First Wave
The young Ones
Husker Du: Live from London

That's about all I can think of right now...

I'd really like to see the earlier seasons of the rugrats on DVD. Yeah. I don't care if they ever release the ones after '97, but it would be cool to have the ones before Dil in one boxed set with audio commentary for each episode... Meh, I can dream.

I like the series before they introduced Dil, I stopped watching it when he came around. But yeah, I guess that and Darkwing Duck would be cool.
I would say Gargoyles, but I heard they are coming out with the first season later this year

Most interestingly, deleted scenes from the movies will be included as bonuses, apparently more than just the Star Wars deleted scenes previously released on the Behind the Magic CD-ROM.

But of course, all of this is meaningless since they're not going to release the original versions of the movies.

This is going to be fantastic! I can't wait to watch the whole original trilogy in pristine digital picture quality and crystal clear groundshaking surround sound! Im also intrigued by the idea of even more improved visual effects. I can't understand why so many people are against the special editions, they improve the films, and help restore (with no direspect to the groundbreaking original work at ILM) some of the more dated FX shots.
I heard a while ago that Lucas has been shooting new scenes throughout the making of the prequals. Aparently Return of the Jedi may contain flashbacks featuring Padme (Natalie portman). I guess this will be added to the scene on Endor when Luke asks Leia if she remembers her mother.

Anyway I can't wait for September. I can asure you I will be buying them whatever versions are included, Star Wars is Star Wars you know, It's all good.  :)

I think it's really sad that some of you wont buy the DVDs without the original versions, get over it. I wasn't even born when they were released. I first saw Star Wars (in Special Edition form) in 1997 when I was 12 and I was blown away!   :D

Star Wars is a great trilogy, but I need Return of the King soon. I have 2 DVD's (cinema + special edition) of the LOTR movies and I have to wait 8 more months until I can complete the set.  :(

Some of these are actually out, but not all of them.  Some are coming, some in limbo:

Airplane!
Life of Brian
The Wonder Years (all seasons)
Home Movies (all seasons)
The Shining
Star Wars trilogy unedited (may "acquire" this soon)
Rocko's Modern Life (all seasons)
The Simpsons (all rest of seasons, barring maybe 10-12)
Alien and Aliens (preferably unedited)

I also need to replace my Back to the Future set someday.  Damn pan and scan. And I'm thinking of getting South Park season six when it releases.  I haven't been collecting those sets but that one season has so many gems.

Rocko's Modern Life would be brilliant. Also, they should release special editions for Batman, The Big Lebowski and The Man With Two Brains.

"Whose Line Is It Anyways?" What would be great is if they just gave us the improv without all the editing for each episode. Bigger, better, uncut  :)

I believe these three are already out.  There's a bare-bones edition of "The Shining" which I *know* exists, and I think they should be releasing a special edition of "Life of Brian" sometime soon. (It's the only MP movie not to have one).  And you can buy the Alien movies seperately from the Quadrilogy...they have both the original and director's cut versions on the same disc.
