Well, thanks to our buddy the internet I was able to watch Atlantis (probably years before it will be broadcasted here)... all the episodes one after another... after the huge Atlantis dose I have to say that I really like it! Every show after it reaches a certein amount of episodes become tedious, including SG-1, a show I used to watch regularly (and for some reason also my dad) until I lost interest. It has a fresh feeling about it although the familiar themes, and the best thing of all that they deal or refer to the larger story every single episode, which is great.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread:
What do you guys think would be cool ideas for a Stargate videogame?
I could picture an awesome 1st-Person-Shooter where youre a member of an SG-Team going off-world for missions.
That would kick so much ass.

I've just watched the 14th episode of Stargate: Atlantis. While it was mainly on the "more talking, less action" side, and the obscure "something suddenly appears out of space to save our heros in the last second" beginning, I liked the twist in the end (which I didn't see in advance). What can I say, this show got better and better since it got started and now it is remaining at the high bar it established for itself. If they cancel this show, I will lose all faith in the American enterteinment industry.

He really brings out the best the show has to offer. I was very sad when he was promoted and doesnt go on missions anymore, but losing his character permanently would be suicide for the show.

Yes, I got connections... connections to the internet. episodes are airing on one of the Sky channels if I am not wrong (maybe sky one). No one even heard of the show here!

On the subject of RDA: I think the other actors on the show aren't given enough credit. Yes, the show would lose a lot if Jack left, but I think the rest of the cast would be strong enough to carry on. I think the show's already taken a hit by losing Hammond, though. The one thing I really want from SG-1 is for the NID/Trust storylines to end. I can only take so much of the "oh yeah, one of the bad guys got away to fight another day"....... Also, I want to see several groups get their comeuppance; the Tok'Ra, the Goa'uld, and the Trust to name but three. On the subject of Atlantis: I think it's off to a strong start. My biggest gripe would be that they haven't explored Atlantis itself enough, but they've got plenty of time to remedy that. It's actually one of the few shows whose new episodes I watch weekly at the moment (aside from SG-1, The Simpsons, and probably Enterprise and Scrubs in the new year). Oh, and also I think that Atlantis is still airing in the States every so often (in the UK, we've only just passed the episode where the team discover the Geni and their nukes , and I know there's at least one episode in the States ("Home" ) which has aired already).

Cybernight, in the episodes ahead they do explore Atlantis. I think "Home" is currently the worst episode, since it's been overdone before so many times on Sci-fi.
"The storm" was, I don't know how to put it, annoying. But part 2 ("The eye" ) was by far one of the best episodes 'till now.

I think Sky One are enjoying their ability to show the new episodes - the introducer last night touted it as the "world premiere" of the episode. *Spoilers for "Gemini"* Pretty solid, although personally I don't like this sort of resolution purely because I have to wait seasons for it to happen. I'm notorious for wanting to find things out as quickly as possible (which is why I'm frustrated by HL2's ending ) - and this was another one of those "A new bad guy has been unleashed" episodes - which stem from the same line as NID/Trust episodes I'm a big fan of ultimate comeuppances. Of course, in order to have the comeuppance you first need to have a long buildup - the longer the buildup, the better the comeuppance, in general. We're definitely in the "buildup" phase. *Spoilers for "The Storm"* "The Storm" was actually quite good. I can see why the producers said it was like "Die Hard". I also noticed they actually lost a couple of soldiers - for real. Atlantis seems to be avoiding the infamous "redshirt" plot device of Star Trek, so for these two bit parts to actually die was quite suprising in a way. I did like that Sheppard got his revenge on the commander (whom I can only remember as being the bad guy in "License to Kill" ) by killing two of his guys in return.

Didn't he get a few more than two of them? What with the whole raising the stargate shield, what a horrible way to go kind of thing that took out 50+ men?
I also heard that Ben Browder will be joining SG1 (the show, not necessarily the team) (Link) as a regular cast member in season nine. I've never heard of him before, but a google search reveals him to look a lot like Dr. Jackson. I was just thinking the other day that SG1 is running low on core cast members, but I don't know if it is a good idea to add a completely new character this late in a show's run. Eh, we'll see how it works out.

Oh please, let this NOT be irony (check his 1988 movies)... Anyway, nice to see Dan Castellaneta (apparently) is in SG-1 and Atlantis!

Well it's official, January 21st. New episodes of Atlantis and SG-1 on Scifi Channel. Judging by the first half of both seasons, I can't wait for either.
