Just watched Season 9 (Thanks fazeypoo!)  HOLY SHEEUT.  Now is not a good time to be stationed on an Earth space vessel.

The Odyssey was a sexy ship, too.

I'm now caught up (re-immersed) to the end of Season 4. Is it just me, or do the SGC team seem to jump between long hours of boredom straight to seconds of exciting action, right into long hours of boredom? 'Cause whilst SG1 are out on other planets or in the medical facility getting various things removed or inserted, all the other characters are just sitting in the control room waiting for the Stargate to mysteriously activate and smoosh some Jaffa against the Iris. For hours on end. Then, when something does happen, it's over in microseconds. SG1 go off and have fun/have sex/almost die, then come back. The SGC team, on the other hand, experience forty-seven and a half hours of pure boredom with no sleep and seemingly no change of uniform!

I guess what I'm saying is that I hope they get some kind of perk for being stuck inside a mountain and alternately bored to death/quaking in terror due to the imminent triggering of the self-destruct sequence.

Good stuff Nix, Carter wasn't exactly in a good spot either, or the rest of them for that matter only Vala was! She's cool, hope she's in all, if not most of, season 10 eps.

tnuk: they change from green uniforms to blue ones half way through their shift.

In honor of it being Stargate Premiere Friday, I'm reviving this thread.

I'm about halfway through Atlantis season 2, and I have to say, I'm taking a shine towards Ronen.  He's obviously (as far as I'm concerned) a Teal'c wannabe, but he's a badass in his own right.  I mean, come on, his gun(s?) is freaking sweet, kinda reminds me of the Vash the Stampede pistol, and he carries a sword!

Also, Tayla is one gorgeous piece of alien.

You mean like being able to traipse across the galaxy, finding new people to talk to and blow up?

Also, Ba'al's my favorite Goa'uld.

Oh definitely. He's long since replaced Apophis at the top of my System Lord list.

I find him a much different sort of evil, much more sadistic and soft spoken rather than "BOW BEFORE ME I HAVE 20 Billion MOTHERSHIPS IN ORBIT READY TO FIRE!!! BWAHAHAHA!!". I loved that they did with him last season making him a corporate CEO on Earth. Absolutely brilliant. Suits him so well...

He'd be a likeable guy, if he wasn't a sadistic bastard.

You know, for Air Force, O'Neill sure has a lot of ground missions in his career prior to SG1.

Didn't you see the episode last season where they were trapped on a planet with a super volcano about to erupt and they find the Ancient ship?

I guess not...  :hmpf:

Working on it - I'm leaving off tonight with Michael, Inferno, and Allies left to go.

And Grace Under Pressure scores some major (pun not intended, now I must kill myself) points for Carter underwater with just a bra, or tank top or something.

Poor Cheif O'brien, by the way.

Nix: that's the one good episode of Atlantis, in my opinion.  Carter in a bikini = win.

Also, I missed last night's premier.  Anyone know when Sci-Fi reruns them?  And/or where I can get a cheap TiVo?

SG1: Man, that episode made me want to go to sleep.  And now I'm too scared to.

Atlantis: What's the deal with SG:A's propensity for finding a new ship, and then having it destroyed within 2 episodes?

Ah yes, I liked this episode.

I found it in a much more similar vein to the old SG-1 episodes with standard exploratory gate travel.

So I just watched the first episode of Star Trek: DS9 again.

Why bring this up here, you ask?

I had always suspected after I started watching it, but now I'm certain Atlantis should be renamed Stargate: DS9.

Ok, just started watching SG:1 and SG:A recently. The only reason I started watching was that, having a DVR box, in the past year I've pretty much exhausted my ability to enjoy most of my favorite shows, especially ST:TNG and ST:DS9. I needed something to fill the void.

Now I can't figure out why I was so resistant in the first place. Annoying thing is that SG:1 is run on 2 networks, asynchronously. So not only am I not watching from the begining, I'm watching from two separate points simultaneously.

I enjoyed SG:A almost immediately, but I was lucky to catch it from the first episode. I can define the exact moment when I was hooked on SG:1:

Ok, I'm up to speed on SG-1 and Atlantis.

SG-1: I watched 1st, then 3rd, then 2nd episode in that order. Stupid MPC next button is so sensitive.  :p Class episodes, Vala is teh best.

Atlantis: Yay, double crossovers. And "Irresistable" is Atlantises "Urgo" episode, just awesome.
