Look in the manual? Try messing with the onscreen menus? I think most TVs in Europe support both PAL and NTSC.

Yeah, probably.  Here is a list of what he's done, according to IMDb.

I have a tape of Alexei Sayle's Stuff around here somewhere.  I'll bring it with me when I visit Liverpool.

Ah, good point. Damn, I never realised technology was so complicated!!!

However, my TV does not have an NTSC input. I can get around that by fiddling with the tracking and watching it black white. Not great, but then again sometimes I'm desperate.
