That photo scares me for some reason. Pottah´ looks like he's 5 years old. But that movie sucks too. And the second one sucks even more.

I've just took a took at the trailer for Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster which looks like it may be interesting.

I'm a total muso-head so I love music documentaries, and this one might have some meat to it.  From the looks of the trail it got loads of bust-ups between James and Lars (any excuse to see the weedy little Danish c**t get some, is reason enough for me).  I'd also read about Dave Mustaine complaining about his contribution to the movie.

THE MASTER!!!

But seriously, I still don't know what the hell was I thinking in April 29, 2002. If you look back at old threads in this forum, I even started a "Lord of the Rings vs. Harry Potter" where I was clearly supporting the Rings. I did like the third movie though.

I was looking forward to The Village...saw it yesterday....disappointment imo. I think this is Shymalan's worst film...he could have done a better ending.

I saw the movies I wanted to see this summer.  I saw The Bourne Supremecy which was even better than the first!  And I saw The Village. Which was really great!  A lot of unexpected twists and turns that I enjoy in a horror movie!

Now the only movie I want to see now is "Without a Paddle".

Alien vs. Predator comes out on Friday Aug 13.  I've been waiting to see this, but I was shocked to learn that this film was PG-13.

WHO'S IDEA WAS IT TO RATE THIS MOVIE PG-13?!!!!!!!

The alien movies were R rated and the two Predator movies were R rated.  Why isn't this movie, R rated?  You know what this means?  There won't be that much blood and gore.

There won't be much human blood, but there will be a lot of green predator and alien blood, and non-red blood doesn't get an R. Besides, if you watch "Alien," it really got it's R for the language, and probably the chest-exploding scene, but other than that, there's not much blood or gore in it...

I'm waiting for
Aliens vs. Predator,
Team America (Thunderbirds meets South Park?),
Resident Evil 2

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence http://www.gofishpictures.com/GITS2/

Hard Boiled
based on a series of 3 hard cover comic books by Frank Miller, Geoff Darrow, Claude Legris. I expect ultraviolence, impressive CGI, robots. But there are rumours that it'll have Nicholas Cage in it, which sort of ruins the mood for me.

Reminds me of that Stargate SG-1 episode in the spooky Ziggurat, remember that guys?

It looks pretty funny, seeing as I've enjoyed all of Ben Stillers other movies (except Along Came Polly, which I haven't seen yet), this one looks very promising.

You mean that even after Swept Away they're still letting Guy Ritchie make movies?  I thought that would have killed his career for good.

Godzilla: Final Wars

Godzilla's gonna fight his American counterpart!

from http://www.monsterzero.us/editorials/editorials.php?catID=Nws&subCatID=15&contentID=524

GFW Update: Godzilla vs Zilla
Translation by Jim Figurski and Takashi Matsuda, August 27, 2004
Source: Sponichi Website

GINO
A translation of the news article from yesterday announcing that the U.S. Godzilla will fight the real Godzilla in Godzilla Final Wars.

For the 50th anniversary of the Godzilla series, in the movie finale FINAL WARS, the American Godzilla will be making an appearance. The X-seijin who plan on conquering the earth, create and release a murderous kaiju called Zilla in Sydney, Australia. An all-out battle unfolds between Zilla and Godzilla. In this dream battle between the Japanese and American Godzilla, Kitamura said with confidence, "I wanted to do something that nobody would expect."

The American Godzilla has a gigantic head, a long tail that makes you think of a lizard and thin limbs. After 6 years since its debut, it’s been revived. Now he challenges the Japanese Godzilla for the title of "Godzilla".

Even in Japan, Godzilla (98’ American version) was a hit, taking in around 30 million dollars. However, there was a controversy about the design regarding the pros and cons of it. Director Kitamura is one of the critics too, and says he can watch and enjoy the American Godzilla if he keeps in mind that this is not the real Godzilla. In order to have the Japanese Godzilla protect his own namesake, the American Godzilla was selected to do battle with him.

The production staff makes sure the rights to use Godzilla are exclusive to Toho. In America there are imitation products on the market that have the name"Zilla."Producer Tomiyama has the ability to get rid of these products if he chooses to. Tomiyama thinks that the American Godzilla is a representation of these imitation products therefore he named the American Godzilla in FINAL WARS simply "Zilla". The significance of this perfectly suits this kaiju who has had the word "God" taken out from the name "Godzilla".

When Zilla appears in Sydney, humanity’s last hope is a revived Godzilla who is beneath the ice in Antarctica to do battle with it. The details of the battle are under wraps, but the Sydney street will be decimated. Kitamura, who studied film direction in Australia, said it would be an honor to have Godzilla destroy his second home.

"I want to compete with America. I want to overwhelm the American Godzilla (which is a symbol of CG) with the Japanese technique of suitmation,"says Kitamura. In the movie, Godzilla is made from a suit, and Zilla is made from CG. "I’m putting in the movie what people all over the world want...Zilla. I want to reach the height of the series and return Godzilla back to being strong and cool again. There are times also when Godzilla behaves affectionately and humorously which I think will make Roland Emmerich laugh if he sees this movie," Kitamura says with confidence. FINAL WARS opens December 4th.

Can't wait til Halloween next year for The Corpse Bride.  I heard they were doing some of the animation here in Portland at Will Vinton Studios.  Anyone know if the god Tim Burton will be here as well?

I'm really looking forward to seeing Open Water and Donnie Darko: The Director's Cut (the latter of which opens here tomorrow!).

I can't say it totally pumped me up, like the trailers for The Royal Tenenbaums. But I still think it'll be solid Wes Anderson fun.

Yes, but all of Kevin Smiths View Askew movies with Jay & Silent Bob (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Strike Back and the cartoon) are set in the Askewniverse. Unlike Jersey Girl which is set in the real world.

I think the trailer focuses a little too much on Bill Murray, but that's understadable since this was kinda big budget and they want to get some money back. The end product I'm sure will be great.

And Bill Murray's delivery of "Revenge" is better than most other movies.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I'm looking foward to Resident Evil 2. I'm not a big fan of zombie films (although the Dawn of the dead remake knocked my socks off), but my friends are. So I'll see it with them when it comes out.
