It was the Borg in "First Contact" that send a signal to the Borg homeworld in the 21st century. Using a subspace interplexing beacon they could apparantly communicate instantly with their kin on the other side of the Universe, provided the primitive Borg of that era could decipher the signal. And knowing the Borg and their succs-rate I'd say they couldn't.

But they never succeeded in sending the signal. The modified deflector array was destroyed before they could get off the signal (Remember "Assimilate This"?  ;)).

The defrosted Borg from that sphere did however manage to get off a signal in "Regeneration", a much slower signal that would take several hundred years to reach the Borg in the Delta Quadrant. Add a few months onto that and we're supposed to believe the cube met in "Q Who" was the ship despatched to assimilate the Federation (which makes little sense anyway - if the Borg's home territory is 70,000 light-years away, why try to assimilate a (relatively) primitive species with one vessel?).

I missed the episode where T'Pol gets a red uniform-I haven't watched Enterprise in a while-but I like how they're quietly advancing every small detail of the star trek world (i.e., the red uniform is the precursor to the red uniform worn by Uhura in the original series). And WHOO-anyone see the episode last wed.? DAMN! I don't recall Seven Of Nine doing that! (although, I didn't watch voyager that much anyways, so if she did, someone contradict me...)

the reasonthat tpol change her "uniform" is because she left the service of the vulcan high command and now wheres what she wants

i think my main disapointment with this show is that they havnt used events mentioned in previous seasons - the temporal cold war is basically bollocks - it would have been better to have a war with the romulans or the klingons

And now a question for whoever's collected DS9 on DVD:

I've got three seasons on pre-recorded VHS, and four season taped off the TV.  Is it worth my while getting DS9 on DVD?

Save Enterprise?

Stop Enterprise is more appropriate, or at least stop polluting the Star Trek Time line and do some cool stuff like the founding of the federation.

Woo-hoo!

Along with Marina Sirtis' recent comment that they won't be making any more Star Trek movies for a long time (thanks to the mediocre-ness of Nemesis) this might actually mean we'll get a break from Star Trek!

Thanks for the advice.  :)

Bad news everyone, the rumour is that Enterprise WILL return for a 12/13 episode 4th season, possibly being extended to a full season if the ratings are good enough.

Compared to the other Star Trek series such as Deep Space 9 and Voyager, Enterprise is pathetic!

What’s really annoying though is that because the special effects available today are so much better than those used to make TOS, it makes it look out of place. I mean how can they explain why Klingons in TOS don't have head ridges and those in Enterprise do!

I really wish that they had made a new series that followed on after the others instead to going back in time! I mean how can they make Enterprise fit when its not mentioned in any of the other series that supposedly come after it!

After the Star Wars and Tomb Raider Prequels I realised that this prequel thing was the the next big hit in the movie studios, and that Star Trek would follow. There were rumours that George Takei would star in a post-TOS,pre-TNG series.
I remember thinking Oooh noo.

given the production costs of enterprise i doubt that this will happen. the whole ratings thing is just an excuse to cancel the series without losing their faces...

Talking of DS-9, when I went away last week I far watched more TV than I would normally because of Spike TV's DS-9 marathon...so my holiday turned into a sit in the hotel room every evening and eat popcorn type thing   :)
