Bob Keeshan, a.k.a. Captain Kangaroo passed away yesterday at his home in Vermont.  He was 76.  I don't know if any of the younger people around here remember the good captain, but for me, he was who I watched, every Monday through Friday morning.  I remember all of the characters, including Mr. Moose, Bunny Rabbit, Mr. Greenjeans, Bill Cosby's picture pages, and all of the others.  For me, Captain Kangaroo was just one of the best and nicest people that I remember seeing on TV, and someone that made me feel great inside. Maybe rather than saying goodbye captain, instead I'll say, see you again, someday.

I saw a news story on him last night.  I remember watching the show.  My awful memory doesn't allow me to remember much, but for some reason Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Greenjeans stick in my mind.  Good stuff.

I have vauge memories of watching him.  Mostly of him getting ping pong balls rained down on his head by a puppet rabbit.

Farewell, O Captain, my Captain.

I really have no idea what you're trying to say, but the man who played Captain Kangaroo had served in the Marines.  He was a "real soldier" at one point.

Yeah, like that guy, Bob Monkhouse. You guys have heard of Bob Monkhouse, right? Me neither.

I'll miss you Captain Kangaroo. 2003 wasn't a good year for celebrities, and 2004 doesn't look like it'll be any good for them either.

I've never heard of him but it is always sad when somebody who brought happiness to many people dies.
