This thursdays episode on sky-one (in the UK) isn't the season finalé.
I was under the understanding that there were only going to be five seasons of Buffy originally but it was so popular they sold out and signed another two. This has ruined so many series in the past. Babylon 5, for all its funding problems was a fantastic series, then the networks demanded another spin-off show but it had to be more like Star Trek. Crusade was born, possibly the lamest thing since badly sliced bread. When will the networks come to understand that the people who create the show are the ones with the vision, are the artists, not some dumb-ass suit in an office so far removed from reality that they couldn't shove their own thumb up their arse even if they wanted to. Bloody interfereing pencil pushers....
Excuse me for a while, I need to chew my desk.

Can't remember much from last nights ep here... the one where it's the day after spike's and buffy's little romp in the building and willow is all getting drugged up on witchy goodness (or badness) from that Rack guy. She's all wah wah wah i'm sorry yadda yadda and buffy was being all wussy and running awayish from Spike which is getting annoying cuz she can't commit. I dont' know, it was an alright ep but nothing significant happened. It was just more story movement and little ass-kicking.
But I'm not complaining  :p

Willow quitting magick was significant, but it was right at the end and not too exciting.
there was too much Spike nudity, not enough Buffy nudity. heh.
Anya and Xander were only in one goddamn scene!! gahh
Dawn fighting that demon was a good bit
Willow getting "high" on magick kind of reminded me of that Futurama episode where Bender gets addicted to electricity.
not a very great episode. Amy's annoying.

Amy's just all weird and quirky. Quick answers and snappy movements - I guess she's just passing off the Rat in her still.
When WIllow's eyes went all black it just reminded me how that guy from Limp Bizkit used to it alot for pics and gigs. I'm like "pfft, it's been done" haha  :p
And also, agreed, toooooo much Spike nudity. He's quite a skinny fellow.... Needs more meat.

next weeks episode ("Gone") sounds pretty cool (to me anyway)...
Buffy turns invisible and hilarity ensues...i guess.

the scene where she's having sex with Spike while she's invisible and Xander walks in an sees Spike who pretends he's just doing pushups or something sounds pretty funny  ;)

Ew, sick...

I stand by my observation that the show should have ended after season 3.

Amen to that.  In my opinion Buffy lost something when it lost Angel, Cordy and Oz in quick succession.  Tara and Riley have no personality, Anya's just a wishy washy rip off of Cordy, and now Spike loves Buffy he's just not the same character anymore.

In addition, Xander's funny one-liners seem to be a thing of the past, and he's become a secondary character to Buffy, Willow and Spike.

that was kind of true at first, but  i think she's the best one on the show now.

true, but unfortunately it had to be done, otherwise he wouldn't fit into the show.

i agree with that. sigh...

i still liked season 4 though, season 5 is IMO where it started to drop a bit...with Dawn's sudden appearence and all.

i really disliked the high school years. I only like season 5 and beyond. I just never liked Angel and i wasn't impressed much by Oz and can't care less about Cordy, but i absolutley adore Spike and Anya. Especially Spike mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm spike!

Actually, I might buy season 3 on DVD.  Damn good season.

I could also buy season 4 - seventy quid for a set of six Buffy coasters.

Ah, Angels little piece at the end, in the hostital. Excellent stuff. It is nice to see that the man can actually act, too much does he play the bemused laconic.
And Sarjén (or however it is supposed to be spelled), I love him, what a bad guy!

Coming back wrong - I think that's been done. By Buffy. One per season is enough!

And I know you're new, Blotto, but use the SPOILER tags if you're gonna talk about main storylines - even though I know this already, it just makes it more appropriate for those who haven't read ahead in the season. Thanks.

it was good how Buffy finally find out about the Troika. "We're you arch nemesiseezes" heh
Warren is the bad one of the three, he was actually going to kill Buffy... he's evil. :)
The troika were the best thing in the episode. Dawn was kind of annoying. that was the first episode for ages without Tara, but that doesn't really matter.
but enough with the Spike nudity! geez.

Blotto, TSN watched the same ep as I just did last night.

My two cents are:
- Hmmm this season is turning into a soap-opera with mushy feelings and less ass-kicking
- But I like the fact the show has grown and they are changing it a bit to be with the older crowd a bit more.
- Not enough movement of the storyline though. It's all wussy wah wahness - being vague i know - but yeah. I can't remember specific examples.
- Yes! TOO much spike nakedness. I said it before and said it again, he needs more meat on that body!
- Liked how he was trying to conceal what he was doing to the invisible buffy  :flirt: Funny. <Xander> You know, you reaaaaally should get a girlfriend. hahah.
- Buffy is being constantly ditzy and flimsy about everything. Vague-city with her. Really annoys me personally when people are like that.
- Refreshing to see more of the Troika and exploring those new characters. Can't wait to see what they get up to next. So cool in their nerdy ways hehe.
- I just wish each episode didn't drag on so much. They could fit in so much more per episode and move a bit faster with the stories and characters.

I give last nights ep a..... 6.5/10 Average.
