Regarding "Gump Roast": Worst clip show ever.  It made me wonder if it was the episode itself that sucked, or if it was just the low total of a bunch of clips from previous, bad episodes.  The only saving grace was the shot in the ending of Homer jumping the shark.

In other news...Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge (DABF17)
Homer takes the law into his own finds in order to find Lisa's saxophone, which was stolen amidst citywide looting following a blackout (caused by Homer).

Don't tell me...did Malloy (voiced by Sam Neil) do it?

The Bart Wants What It Wants

I didn't like this episode much, it seemed to re-tread old episodes and used a character that's not often used, to try and make it seem fresh. Also adding another new character in at Season 13 is stupid, some ok parts but generally meh.

[CBG] Excuse me, I believe Lisa's saxophone has already been stolen, which prompted Homer to start a neighborhood watch group, with hi-LARious consequences! [/CBG]

I found something wrong with an episode, and I forget what season its in and don't wanna find the right thread.

Willie says he was born in North Kilttown and that his father was hung for stealing a pig. In the episode where Mr. Burns trys to catch Nessie, Willies father is there, and they say that they own a pub in Lock Ness where willie was concieved, born and educated.

GLARING ERROR!

I hope someone got fired for that blunder!

The "my father was hung for stealing a pig" line was in a treehouse of horror episode, which doesn't count for continuity.

And the Lock Ness episode is too crappy to be taken as a serious entry into the Simpsons canon.

Wow that must be bad, with so many crap episodes and the crap getting crapper, I'm really not looking foward to it at all.

Watch the end though! I've never heard it more plainly spoken that the show is winding down :)

Actually, that happened in "I Love Lisa", a regular episode.  So it IS canon.  I guess that it is dismissed as canon once we see Willie's father though...

I dunno, I liked it for its obligitory use of Kang and Kodos.  Continuity be damned, those aliens rock!

I guess I'm the only one who thinks this season has a been a vast improvment over the past few.  Oh well, I have my Simpsons board to discuss such things...

Crap, you're right. I have no idea why, but I was thinking that quote was from "Terror At 4 1/2 Feet".

Bleh. They've been making lame "hey look at us, we're running out of ideas" jokes for so long. At first they were kinda funny, but now they are the show's only source of humor. And of course they never have the guts to actually end the show, or at least improve it. Stupid writers.

Out of Seasons 11, 12 and 13, I think 12 is by far the best. That's my opinion anyway.

The latest episode was classic, and nothing got wierd or crazy. I'm talking about the Apu cheating episode. I think it depends on the writer. Some writers do lame "make-fun-of-the-series-getting-old-stories" and others try to keep the show fresh.

This WAS a surprisingly good episode. My favorite bit had to be Homer backing up all the way to his house, then backing up again in his dream.

I thought that tonight's episode was really a new classic. Definitely up there with "Half-Decent Proposal" for this season's best.

I thought this was a pretty good episode, but the Homer backing up bit was drawn out for longer than I think it should have been.

I just watched "The Latest Gun In The West" here in the UK. Maaan that was bad, the dog chasing seemed totally unconnected, and the rest of it got boring fast.

I saw "Blame it on Lisa" this afternoon, it was pretty funny, especially once they'd got to Brazil, even funnier knowing how much it annoyed the Brazilians  :laff:

I thought Season 12 was better, I agree that a lot of it was too surreal, but at least it wasn't so uninspiring and boring. It had the classic "Trilogy of Error" too :).

It was like a Root Canal except without the painkillers. Worst episode I've ever seen in my life. None of it was funny. I chuckled twice, that was it. Once when I saw Peter from Family Guy and the old skool Homer in the crowd of clones, and once when they said Mr. Burns had a "fox attitude".

This new THOH was pretty lameass, except for the first act, which was decent

Or a generic Simpsons review thread.

It had its moments.  I fear the panther-on-walrus porn that will soon be floating around the 'net.

I was very uninspired by this THOH. There were a few funny moments sprinkled in, but not much. The las one I really liked was two years ago.  Next week they continue with their never ending line of guest stars.  Woof.

Not bad, but kind of bland--I honestly can't even remember what the second segment was about. First one was clones, third was animal-people...what the hell was the second?

Why don't they do the scary gag credits anymore? Lazy fuckers.
