Kill Bill Vol. 1
X-men 2

Elf
Bad Boys 2

Worst:

The Hulk
Timeline

Fair-to-Middling:
Underworld
Daredevil

Bruce Almighty

Edit: Added Pirates of the Carribean, as I'd forgotten about it (I saw it first Christmas Eve on DVD). Pretty good flick.

Re-edit: Added Elf, because Will Ferrell is awesome. Also stuck Daredevil somewhere.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was not what I wanted it to be.

Another Comic book movie that doesn't measure up. Though if you ask me, it was a little soon. The title is only a couple years old.

I was dissapointed with The Leage too.

Hmmm, I have to agree with the majority of good and bad films here. I was troubled how Matrix Revoloutions ended as well.

3. The Last Samurai
4. Terminator 3
5. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

The Unseen

My Top Ten Favorites (In No Particular Order)
Return Of The King
Kill Bill Vol. 1
School Of Rock
Bad Boys II
Pirates Of The Carribean
X-Men 2: X-Men United
Bruce Almighty
Matrix Reloaded
Old School
Charlies Angels: Full Throttle (Yeah, that's right)

My List Of The Worst (I'm sorry, but I just have a hard time criticizing films. I can't really think of any movie that I saw that was too horribly bad. I didn't think The Cat In The Hat was too bad.)

Good thing I have done something like that recently...

Good ones

- Return of the King
- Hero
- Kill Bill
- Master and Commander
  and a few more...

Very bad ones
- NEMESIS!!! (aka Star Trek X)
(and yes, I know that this one was released in 2002, but it was my first movie in 2003.)
- Matrix Revolutions
- Matrix Reloaded

There are more for each category, but it seems like that my memory is failing me...    :hmpf:

Favs of '03 (in order)
1)The Last Samurai
2)Willard
3)Pirates of the Carribean
4)X2
5)Bruce Almighty
6)Bad Santa
7)The Rundown

The merely ok of '03
1) The Matrix Movies
2) T3
3) Anger Management
4)Hollywood Homocide
5) The Hulk

Unseen of '03
1) Return Of The King
2) Finding Nemo
3) Master and Commander

In retrospect, this was one of the best years for movies in a long time, much better than 2002 IMO. I  didn't bother to go see any movies that I knew I would hate (Like Gili), I more or lees know if I will hate a movie or not before I go see it now days (I was dead wrong about Pirates of the Carribean, because it was awsome).

I liked elf and Xmen 2 and Bruce Almighty was ok.

There aren't any other films because I never see any films, meh.

EDIT: I just remember I saw Freaky Friday at the end of December and that was ok.

In total I have seen 6 films this year! Wooh!

The good: Return of the King (suprise, suprise)
          Pirates of the Carribean

The Bad: Legally Blonde 2
Good lord this movie was an abomination, I had to go to it in order to see the Matrix Reloaded(Damn the R rating!), and as many of the people here can tell you, the trade-off was not worth
it. After seeing this, the only option left in mu opinion is to deliberately trigger the holocaust and start the human race over from scratch.

Best:
The Return of the King
Catch me if You Can
Mystic River
The Matrix sequels
Master and Commander
Kill Bill
Phone Booth
Finding Nemo
Gangs of New York
Terminator 3

I also really enjoyed
Alien the Directors Cut
X Men 2
Jackass The Movie
Pirates of the Carabeen
The Hulk (horribly underated by the masses, who expected a big dumb non stop action flick). I think the Hulk has some of the most outstanding effects, direction and editing I've ever seen. Remember, Ang lee was going for a greek tragedy feel.
I haven't been to see any films I really disliked, atleast I can't think of any right now.

Kill Bill, The Last Samurai, Gothika, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre were all pretty good. [wish I could've seen more horror movies...]

Finding Nemo, Bruce Almighty, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Return of the King were overrated. (There was way too much schmaltz in all of these.)

The only movies that play where I live are the mainstream explosion flicks so that coupled with the fact that I'm a shut in leads to me not seeing nearly as many movies as I would like. Plus I avoid movies I know I'll hate (unless it's the good kind of hate, ie: Matirx, Underworld, B:E).

Movies Released in 2003 which I have seen:
Hot:
Lost in Translation
Bend it Like Beckham*
Finding Nemo
Underworld
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Medium:
Whale Rider*
28 Days Later*
A Mighty Wind*
Matrix Reloaded*
X-2: X-Men United
Elf
Cold:
Better Luck Tomorrow*
The Italian Job*
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines*
Matrix Revolutions

Ya know, a lot of these best lists are pretty depressing. Not because the choices are "wrong", but because they reveal what a shitty year this was for cinema.

Anyways, keeping in mind I still need to see Lost in Translation and ROTK...

Good:
Finding Nemo
School of Rock

Okay:
Bruce Almighty
Pirates of the Carribean

Atrocious beyond belief:
Seabiscuit
The Cat in the Hat

And that's it really.  I didn't even bother much this year, because so many films were just stupid sequels and action flicks.  The summer in particular was rather painful.
