I don't find this odd at all.

Glad everyone shares the same love of Space Mutiny that I do; still, that collection looks great.

The "oddly" part was because this is a MST3k thread in a Futurama board looking at a MST3k item that recommends a Futurama item.

I believe the reason why the collection doesn't have such greats as Space Mutiny or Hobgoblins is because they wanted to release episodes that haven't been released yet. If they weren't going for that angle, Space Mutiny and others would've surely been on it.

Hobgoblins, Prince of Space, Space Mutiny, and Time Chasers would make a kickass post Trace Beaulieu-era collection.  Heck, if it weren't for Hobgob, it'd be a great Season 8 collection.  They need to put Night of the Blood Beast on DVD.  I love that one.

Speaking of, I did notice some of the movies share music.  Blood Beast and Attack of the Giant Leeches have the same, and I know I've heard the music from Bloodlust in another episode.

The one thing I was disappointed about with the collection was that only one was Joel and the other three were Mike. I would've liked them to keep it even.

One of the best shows was Space Mutiny and Amazon has it on MST3K vol. 4

A quote I saw somewhere on another site, apparently from some interview:

"Trace said he didn't see himself as an icon, but wanted to be a logo. Frank settled for being a font."

Crunk Slamchest is my favourite. I rewatched Space Mutiny again. I love the fact that Kalgon is basically a South African version of Tarkin from A New Hope.

And that crew is really really white. And most of them have awful non Military regulation haircuts.

And those Space Magic Alien Witch women. Talk about Cinemax.

Whee!

It occurs to me that they did a few muscleman nicknames for the Captain during 12 to the Moon.  I'd better check.

Normal View and the Brak jokes were probably the best parts of the This Island Earth.

I've never done Rifftrax, so I can't share in the hate, Nurdy.

I've tried it with Aeon Flux, it was easy if you downloaded the player.

Also, I thumb my nose at those who have to watch This Island Earth on Google Video while I have it on VHS.

I now can't say I regret never having seen that one.

While I'm here, a few quotes from the episode guide:

- On "Fugitive Alien": "Toward the end, snake-bit Ken accidentally kills his girlfriend Ken, and we'll see you next week with another of Ken's adventures."

- About "The Killer Shrews": "The shrews themselves are very clearly medium-sized dogs with carpet fragments glued to their backs. There's no attempt to even pretend they're anything else. They look like happy, playful dogs too."

- Regarding "King Dinosaur": "If you're looking for lots of walking scenes, you've come to the right movie."
