Yeah, I saw that bit. Something about Wil Anderson always seems like he's trying too hard to be funny. He has good jokes, but they sometimes come off really badly because he tells them so badly.

Wil's not the only problem. I've been trying to pin-point the exact moment in the past year that Dave Hughes went from being genuinely funny to being a self-righteous git. It think it was around the time he started doing those Holden ads.

It seems that the Glasshouse has been going downhill since the election. I remember early last year watching it and doubling over in laughter about five times an episode on average. It just doesn't happen any more.

Maybe I'm strange, but I never found Glass House to be terribly funny at all.

I DO rememebr laughing at some of Dave Hughe's stand up, years ago. I knew him as 'Crab Stick Boy'.

I agree with you all, I'm not as attracted to it as I was a year ago, its just lost its edge.

Its like when "Good News Week" went to TEN, Paul and Mickey became such sexist asses. I now think of them as pathetic hacks, who will never be able to really fit in anywhere. Although Paul seems to of picked him self up a bit.

Just checked out who was gonna host RAGE tonight, no one, its gonna be a "RAGE GOES ANIMAL Special, songs and videos featuring animals". Here's The Playlist.
Just looking through it.

Sayid meet the chick that was on the looping mayday call, she knocked him out and tortured him, then they made up and had a chat about what happened to her and the others that where with her (she killed them), then they went their separate ways.

Meanwhile at camp, fat guy makes a golf course to help people with stress and succeeds and the little boy gets pissed at daddy and goes off to play with locke.

Thats pretty much it.

Oh, I also saw crazy Korean guy on Star Trek Enterprise, he was a security officer. He had one line, I think?

I was actually writing up a big summary of everything that happened in last nights episode, Chay's head. Every flash back, all of Danielle's (the French woman's) story, that whole malarchy with the golf course. But then Firefox crashed, and I lost it all. This made me very angry.

So, if you want a better look then Dogdoo's bare bones account up there, just go look up 'Lost episode summaries' online, or something. Because apparently God doesn't want me to be charitable.

Man, thats gotta bite SJM.
I could have gone into more detail but I wanted to finish setting up my web browser to the way I like it, and I also had to download a few little programs that I forgot to backup, since I decided to Reboot my computer last night.

On another note. I'm getting sick of the ad's for LOST, its all, "Your quetions will be answerd, find out the truth about the island. All on the next episode of LOST."

I'm sitting there after its finished thinking, "this didn't explain anything. This show is turning more and more into The X Files, we're not gonna be any closer to the truth even at the end of series!"

And my plesure Chay's Head.

Alright, now you're just trying to piss me off.

The reason it was a hassle to be allowed to make another Aussie TV thread was we thought it was our own personal Spam haven. This culminated in the infamous "Hey, lets see how far we can push it before the mod closes it" incident. I think we got it up to page thirty. Needless to say, after that they wouldn't let us make another, and in good reason.

We learned our lesson, but the new Australian PEELers have yet to. This thread is kinda growing redundant, Which Is why I'm worried. This thread used to be for posting heads up on interesting shows, bitching about programmming Schedules and complaining that Futurama was never on. But Futurama Isn't on anymore and all the shows people wanna talk about in this thread are foreign and could be discussed in other threads. Since there were few people who participated and the people who did knew to respect it. We made this one last for a year and a half, I think we've had em going for four years now. But even then theres only been three or four. Which is a an impressive record on PEEL. There is no older thread series.
(Mikey, Alex, I'm sure you remember that Painful experience. Thought it was the end of PEEL didn't we?)

This thread, Its not for Spamming, or talking about non Australian Shows that have threads of their own, or telling us what you did last night, or just throwing your hat into the ring to agree with everyone else and add nothing new to the conversation.

I honestly wouldn't know this last page any different from an IRC log. Most of its largely innane.

So If you want there to be a thread where you can come to discuss uniquely Australian shows, Hide from people in other threads who refuse to use spoiler brackets or just to give a heads up on shows you know everyone will like then Like I said at the start of this thread when I started it A year and a Half ago. It doesn't matter if you do all that. Just try to pack it into a long post that also has more relevent stuff.

Post Conservatively Ya'll.

See you in the New thread.

This is the basic "Aussie anything" thread. We can talk about anything related to what's showing on Aussie TV. Even if it's foreign stuff.
Anyway, onto the cool stuff. I watched 'The Shining' the other day on SBS... bloody good stuff. I love it when he's just smashing down the doors and he's just using all the catch phrases. "Honey, I'm home!" and the infamous "Heeere's Jooohny!" scene (I've seen that scene before and I still love it).

The mods feel differently. They dont mind as long as it doesn't get too spammy, and lately it has been. This needs to be nipped in the bud.

I think there IS justification for talking about foreign shows in this thread, because in such spoiler-prone shows such as Lost hanging around in threads where people are several episodes ahead of us is - well - dangerous.

Also, we need somewhere to talk about the Melbourne Comedy Festival. And how much of a sell-out Dave Hughes is. And how much I want to punch Rove in the face.

The Shining was fantastic. My favourite bits were every time Jack goes to the bar. That man has the most evil eyebrows in cinema history.

Go ahead enjoy it while it lasts. I'm mainly worried about the spammy nature of some of the newer PEELers. The main thing the mods were worried about was this thread becomming a spam haven.

Thats a very good reason to keep the thread that you just said. Even though its why there are spoiler brackets. But with spoiler intensive shows like lost which are becomming more and more common, its still important to there is this thread, and especially since Spoiler brackets have fallen out of fashion.

When the mods let us remake this thread they said we had to respect it, I'm just reminding you of that. Sorry to tell you what you dont wanna hear.
I'll speak no more on this.

Hate to be considered part of the newbie Spiced Hammy problem here, but something regarding Aussie TV needs to be said. The ABC quiz show The Einstein Factor only a matter of moments ago featured a contestant whose particular obsession was, you guessed it, Futurama. I hope I wasn't the *only* person to have seen this show! Anyway, I thought it was interesting. They had a little graphic in the background of Bender floating in the background, and 15 questions of varying difficulty were asked. I got all but 1, and personally, I'm just kinda miffed someone beat me to entering the contest with Futurama as a quiz category. (Hell hath no fury like an Aspie beaten to the punch.)

Oh, you and your silly time zones. In any case, the judges panel is a little annoying this week, and furthermore they fumble over an infuriatingly easy Futurama question that I guarantee will have you throwing something at the TV screen in rage. Enjoy the show, in any case, and laugh at the guy if you get a question he doesn't.

Looks like SBS are replaying John Safran vs God as of next Monday night at 9:00pm. Unfortunately, this means the end of South Park's Season 7 repeats... half-way through the season, I might add, too.

Now, don't get me wrong, I loved John Safran vs God, but given that SBS still have the last 7 episodes of Season 7 and all 14 episodes of Season 8 to repeat, you'd think that'd be higher on their agenda than an 8-episode one-off series that they're likely to repeat dozens more times over the coming years. They're not even putting South Park repeats on during Saturdays like they used to... my hope of re-taping these old episodes from SBS is dead.  :(

Come on, SBS! Make South Park repeats a priority! Replace Pizza with them or something, nobody gives a fuck about that shitty excuse for a TV show!

Well we can't have one of my favourite threads going redundant now can we....?!
I don't watch a hell of a lot of tv these days, and I post even less in this thread but I do have something to say about Channel fucking 10....

I hate them, I hate the way they have all the best shows, and constantly tell us at the bottom of the screen during the program you're watching....I hate Rove, I hate the way he says "Coming up next" at the end of every segment and then whatever is up next is the last piece on the fucking show....!
I hate the way they "preview" the new Simpsons coming up next while the credits are rolling for the old ep that they've already played 5000 times this year....why preview it when it's going to be on in 10 fucking seconds....??!!
I hate they way they have a 1 minute ad break halfway through the show (seriously....oh fuck off) and then the next ad break is TWICE as fucking long....! Oh yeah great, we're so dumb we don't see what's going on....!

I hate the shows that they choose to put on during the day (The Nanny, Judge Judy, Dr Phil) I fucking can't stand the cult following that Dr Phil must have had for himn to get his own spin off show....

And lastly I hate Channel 9 for taking off Joey and replacing it with Super fucking Nanny....I know Joey wasn't hilarious but it's fucking better than most of the shit these days....

Aaahhh much better.... :D

Sorry for all the swearing but it had to be said....
